Honestly the way it’s portrayed on the show sometimes it seems like he only had a job to access to booze. They act like he never paid his bills. I’d love Judge Judy to tell all these folks what she thought of them

Does anybody know how long Buddy and Heather dated?

Maybe I’m missing something, but can someone explain what is so attractive about Buddy that Heather is so distraught over this break up? Is it just because he basically ghosted her, so he’s like some unattainable catch? I ask because for the life of me I don’t get why anyone would find the guy attractive. Now physically he might be some people’s type (not mine), but he’s pretty much an admitted bum, has a mean streak going back to the host of the reunion, mumbles, is a criminal, alluded to cheating on Heather, has/had a drug/alcohol problem, seemingly hasn’t apologized for any of it, seems like a man-child, emotionally stunted. I mean Heather’s no prize attitude-wise, but seemingly is able to hold down a couple of jobs, pay her bills as far as we know, and in this bunch is definitely physically attractive. This just keeps nagging at me. I mean if Buddy were some great catch, I might understand it, but even at his best, Buddy seemed like an over grown frat boy, somebody you’d invite to your party for a few laughs then regret it the next morning, when he’s passed out on your sofa, thrown up on your rug and pissed in your potted plant.

Quite frankly, I think they’re all a combination of losers, whiners, enablers, and delusional bums. It’s probably why they are friends nobody else would have them.

His name is Luby (don’t know if it’s a southern name or not) and his Dad’s name is Luby so I guess it was to distinguish the two growing up. I too never met a real person name buddy. The only Buddy I know of is from the show Charles in Charles.

I guess they can only have so many episodes of rubbing lotion on Chubb rub so, they are using Buddy as a crutch because most people like a good redemption storyline. The only thing is I don’t find Buddy likeable to care (I’m glad he’s sober, one episode was enough of an update for me and he’s not unlikeable enough in an OMG way to hate watch like Whitney, so I’m left with who cares, and watch a rerun when nothing else is on. I hope Buddy stays sober but I don’t find him to be a very likeable person, although the drugs could have caused that’sas I don’t know when he started, but I have never really cared for his personality.

This a million times, Buddy was nasty to the tv host during the reuinion and it wasnt like the woman was being nasty and interrogating him like a murder suspect. If anything he should have been mad at Whitney saying he was a bum not paying his rent. I guess now we know where the money was going. Heather, I truly can’t figure out. She’s pretty enough, in this bunch freakin spectacular. She has a job(s) so I’m assuming she can support herself. Is somewhat likeable. I get it’s harder to date with small children, but really, Heather, please go find your dignity, a clue, a brain, something.

I dislike Babs and sometimes Glenn, I also don’t really know for certain that’s unpopular on here. If we are talking in general, with all viewers, I think they are mostly liked, but on this board it’s somewhat more evenly split. I like Babs and Glenn together with each other, but don’t like them especially Babs when they interact with Whitney. I think it’s because Glenn basically just tells Whitney the facts about her obesity, while Babs either tries to be cute, funny or ignorant. That may just be her personality, but she’s not nearly as fun as she thinks imo. The only way I can see this as maybe true is because I can see her being too lazy to remove her makeup. If she’d put a little more effort such as this into her every day look I think physically she could be average looking. Her personality not being a factor.

Glenn should be careful what he wishes for because he’s probably either going to have to spring for a Nanny or he and Babs will be on diaper duty and toddler patrol. There’s no way Whitney could keep up with a kid once he starts walking and I’m not sure who would throw bigger tantrums. What I can’t understand is even the most nasty (attitude wise) morbidly obese women on my 600 lb Life seem to be able to get a man (I mean most of them aren’t winners and are just enablers) but the reason I bring it up is they keep saying Whitney can’t even get a second date. Now there’s nothing wrong with being single, but besides Avi it doesn’t seem like she’s shooting for professionals (well he was a professional con apparently but that’s another story). She’s trying to “date” a pizza delivery guy/bartender, shoe salesman,craft store clerk/artist and whatever her second cousin was. Looks wise the only people I didn’t think she was on par with were the fake Ashley double date and possibly Avi, I don’t recall seeing his unblurred face, if so it wasn’t memorable to me. However, looks wise even with her tremendous weight, I think she’s on par with Buddy, Lennie with his beard and goofy hats, her “cousin” and the really frail guy who I think sold shoes. I just saw a clip of him so I’m not sure. All of them were average to slightly below average looks to me ymmv. Honestly, the one I think isout of her league looks wise is Donna (I think she is very pretty)and I have no idea if she’s her friend, fwb, or an employee. With all that being said, I truly wonder if Whitney really wants to be with someone or uses the weight and her obnoxious behavior to keep men/women whomever away (by away I mean she’s in charge of the physical interaction not them). I’m curious since her weight gain began in college if something traumatic happened to her or I’m not familiar with her college if it was her just not being all that important there, and it lead to a crushing blow to a narcissistic Whitney, so she ate her feelings. I think PCOS might have added 30-50 pounds possibly,but 200-300, no way! I hope these interactions with Buddy and his counseling and Tal giving his story, convince Whitney to begin a psychological weight loss journey because the physical one hasn’t done shit. I’ve recently lost 25 lbs and now considered average for my height, but it wasn’t until I figured out why I was overrating that things came together. I hope she’ll be inspired by Buddy’s journey and her failed 7k. Its doubtful but I can hope.

This a million times, I’ve known a few Glenns, my in-laws’ friends, and several of them have come right out and said they wished that their son/daughter would have kids so they (the adults children) would grow up. I guess it never occurred to them their own kids could still be immature brats while popping out kids. I think Glenn may think getting married and having a family settled him and Babs down, so it would do the same for Whitney. I don’t necessarily agree with that and I still hold out the idea that Glenn wants Whitney to have a husband so it takes the financial and emotional burden off him.

I am one that has no problems posting Whitney’s faults as there’s many but I refrain from doing so in this forum because it’s the unpopular threads forum and I think I think the unpopular thought is that there’s something positive about Whitney. I do post in here when there is something I can appreciate about Whitney. The other threads are basically a bash Whitney fest which she rightly deserves in many cases, but I know there are some people that like her or like certain attributes about her I just read it and move on or take it to another thread. It really does seem hostile in here at times and this is coming from someone who 90% of the time thinks Whitney is a whiny slob, but if you like her good for you.

I think she has nice eyes, so there’s that, and for as big as she is her face is disproportionately small, so you did get to appreciate some of her facial features.

I do think she looks slightly smaller too, it’s hard to tell because the pic is at an angle but I do hope after the 7k she is taking the gym more seriously, although I still think she should be working on the basics and swimming, but I’m no trainer.

I read maybe on here Maddie was openly campaigning for her own TLC and as we know, no one is allowed to be the center, but Whitley, so I think Maddie’s “role” might have been decreased. Also, they not in BGDC that much and I guess Whitney ain’t getting weaves like she use to or maybe from someone different.

Well, I can see why you wouldn’t typically I don’t believe anything Whitney says lol, but in this one instance I think it might be a symptom of pcos.

What really creeped me out was how Whitney sends out a group text basically trying to trick someone into the room to put the lotion on and then is basically all exposed. It’s very odd. I mean if Donna is her caretaker then she should be doing it and if she’s just her friend, then she should have had whatever medic on the show do it, and it should have not been filmed. I mean is this supposed to be funny? Gross? Fabulous? I’m like most of you I have random shows playing in the background while I’m doing something else. I wonder what people like Glenn’s coworkers think of this show. The on e thing I must say about this show is it does leave me wondering what random people are thinking...like her neighbors, .Glenn’s coworkers...Hunter’s NY friends. I have no idea why this Whitney pic is still on here it was from an old post but I guess I’ll leave it here. Since I can’t seem to delete it.

I think because of her “PCOS” she doesn’t or rarely gets her monthly cycle, which was one of the reasons she didn’t know right away she was “pregnant”. If or when she does I guess one of her friends “helps” her.

Thanks for the info @Dot guess I thought it was odd her dad had to co-sign for her home since she was theoretically living at home and I doubt was paying Glenn and Babs rent, so should have some kind of savings from the show. I don’t like to get into people’s finances but a lot of things on this show just don’t make sense.

Thanks I remember seeing some old clip maybe the beginning of the series of Buddy bringing Whitney a pizza, but it didn’t show if he worked at the pizza place. Do any of these people have real jobs? I’m not saying a pizza place is not a real job, I mean, they all seem to be able to take off and film or go on vacations or whatever. Heather works two jobs (I’m not sure what), Tal is/was a counselor, Todd is is/was waiter, dancer. Is filming for the show like a few weeks or something, it just seems odd all these adults can just take off their jobs at the drop of a hat. I get why they’d want to, but I’d think their bosses would get tired of these time off requests unless the filming in very condense or extremely spread out. Sorry if this isn’t clear. Maybe the show only shoots a couple of months and their parts only require a week’s worth of shooting. A lot of this show confuses me.

Does anyone know how old Buddy is and what his job was before he was a bartender?

I’m curious about reality ‘stars’ like Whitney. Does anyone know what kind of salary the show would pay her, by which I mean, does she really make her money off the show or does her money come off her appearances like the cruise or what “talks/speeches” she gives. I remember when Jersey Shore was a thing and some of them were really raking it in on club appearances, etc., not that I expect Whitney to be a big club draw. I guess I was trying to figure out (I know, a waste of time) why Whitney continues to sign up for this embarrassment. I’m guessing she was around 30 when the show started, was she living at home then? I missed the beginning of the series, was Glenn footing her bills or it wasn’t discussed? I’m normally not so nosy about people’s finances, but I’m truly fascinated by some of the questions this show brings up. On My 600lb Life, the people are usually pretty poor, living off disability, so I can understand to a point that they let the show film them in embarrassing situations because for SOME of them, their options are limited, but Whitney has seemingly had a lot of opportunities growing up and as an adult. I do believe something happened to her for such a major weight gain, but I’d like to know if there was any personality change from say Season one until now? Was she more likable back then and did her friends cater to her as much as they do now?

I think Buddy’s anger had nothing to do with truly thinking Whitney’s “wanting” to finish the race was addict behavior. I think he realized how hard it was to listen to her bullshit while sober, and now that he’s fessed up to his problems gets irritated that she’s being rewarded for her addict behavior: EATING with trips, shows, etc. On a side note, how pathetic is Heather? I’d love to know about her ex-husband if she thinks a stumbling, bumbling, alcoholic with a coke problem and anger issues is Prince Charming. Girl, go get some self respect and focus on you and your children. I’m not saying she shouldn’t date, but she should probably take some time to figure out her codependency on Buddy and why she “didn’t” know he had a problem, considering people on here could see it a mile away at least a season ago. Either the woman is lying or she’s dumber than I thought. Anytime, I have a modicum of sympathy for Whitney it vanishes. I get her point about Hunter didn’t have to run the 5k and I can even see how that would be frustrating, but heres the thing, that’s the whole point of bribing someone, you get them to do what you want. Whitney could have easily said (if we are pretending Glenn and not TLC paid for this) “No, thanks, Dad, I’ll pay my own way to Hawai’i, and enjoy it on my terms.” If we are talking about fairness Hunter could have easily sad Dad (TLC) didn’t pay for four of my friends to come to Hawai’i to cheer or rub lotion on me. Whitney will be a burden on her parents their whole lives unless they outlive her. I honestly think while Glenn May enjoy working, he’s probably saving more money because Whitney can’t even take care of herself much less them when they get too old. He’s also probably saving money for her because besides this show has she ever been self supporting? Disability checks aren’t going to keep her in the lifestyle she’s accustomed to with her parents. I would say she can go the zlist celebrity round and move from show to show, but she really doesn’t seem that ambitious.

Todd often gets on my nerves but his “I see what you’re saying, but you’re not seeing what I’m seeing” when applying lotion to Whitney’s chubrub is possibly the greatest thing uttered in this show. I hope TLC gave him a bonus.
