S12.E22: Reunion Part 1

She lived in London with her first husband (Ralph Lynch), Hannah's father. I'm guessing he was British, though not sure. -

Could be one in the same. Didn't seem like she had a relationship with them; they were never mentioned that I recall. -

I don't really have strong feelings either way about Heather. There were things I liked and disliked about her. The dislike mostly stemmed from her acting like she was above it all, even though she exploited her participation to further other interests, just as most have done. -

^That is some sort of photographic wizardry. Here is a screenshot from her Twitter, same dress, same product (albeit backasswards). Every once in a while, Icki Gunvalson would show up with a weird photo that looked nothing like her. I don't know why someone would promote a photo that has been so heavily edited that it looks nothing like them. Seems like reality would be a huge letdown, lol. -

Someone I can't recall mentioned once that those barbed wire tattoos folks were getting around their upper arms would someday look like a macabre picket fence. -

I can honestly say that I had never even heard of such a thing until I watched the film Steel Magnolias, and the Julia Roberts character talked about her husband's Aunt Fern, who always made an Armadillo groom's cake. Shirley McClaine's character said it 'looked like an autopsy', lol. I haven't been to a ton of weddings in my life, but I have never been to one with a groom's cake that I recall. -

Yes, I've watched them more than once. Cathartic is exactly the right word.

Sounds very much like my husbands parents. His dad had several jobs, but the during my hubs formative years, his father was a gasoline hauler, on a regular route between Chicago and Cleveland. His mother, even though his dad made good money, always worked. Factory work. From sewing in clothing manufacturing to her last job, which was operating a punch press for an automotive supplier. She would then come home and make dinner for her family, and have it on the table by 6pm. This was in the 50's, 60's, 70's. She retired when her husband, my father-in-law (whom I never met), dropped dead at the dinner table at 58 yrs. old. She was 66. I'm not saying this was necessarily the norm, but I'm really perplexed to understand the thought that "most women didn't work in the 90's". Now if you said that most women didn't work in their 90's, I'd definitely agree with that. -
This show makes me happy, and calms me amid the world's nonsense. I would watch a rerun of this long before a new episode of just about anything else.

I wasn't thrilled with season 3, will probably check in with season 4 and see where it heads. As far as Keisha is concerned, I don't know that it's etched in stone that she will bear the child is it? Never know what's in store.

I was 30 in 1990, and had been working for 15 years at that point. My mother went to work full time in 1970. -

If I'm honest, I guess I've always felt that large weddings are simply well-dressed money grabs, and for the most part, I resent them, lol. Mine was for family only, done for about $1000 including dress (street length, off-the-rack), flowers, cleric's graft, venue rental, hubs tie/pocket square. First and only marriage, still going 29 yrs on. -

@BookWoman56 - Your 2nd and 3rd points above! I realize that weddings are steeped in traditions that seem to force some to suspend all sense (common or otherwise), but seriously. I would add that this whole destination wedding thing has gotten out of hand also. Be mindful of inviting folks to a wedding that will necessitate them to lay out $thousands$ in order to attend. Not everyone has the ability or the inclination to spend mortgage payments to share your joy. I know, I know, regrets can be given, but sometimes it's difficult to turn down close family/friends. -

Our local Goodwill bins have been removed, presumably due to COVID, but I really don't expect them to return, due to the constant abuse and misuse of their intended purpose. Our county landfill allows a limited amount of free disposal to residents, but after that there is a fee. I have to believe that most of these garbage drops at the Goodwill bin/recycle bin points are to avoid having to pay for disposal, coupled with convenience of their location. When I have cardboard to drop off, I'm lucky to find a bin with any space left. They're mostly overstuffed with unbroken cardboard, and other inappropriate miscelleanea. People sure can suck. -

Regarding porch pirates. I actually had a reverse pirate! The Fed Ex folks delivered part of my Chewy order of cat litter (so think heavy) to a home several blocks away, and that homeowner/renter actually brought me the box! I was surprised needless to say, and for at least that brief moment, had hope for humanity. We too have been fortunate so far, and haven't been a victim of porch piracy. I suspect that every passing day reduces the chance that it will continue. They don't seem to be the least bit intimidated by the proliferation of doorbell/porch camera surveillance do they? Bastids.
