These Viking kids sure do talk formal! Never a "grandma" or Viking equivalent. They call her Lagertha. And when Torvi and Ubbe left them to go to Kattegat, there was no "Mom" or "I will miss you!". Just a stiff formal farewell... Where is the slut, I mean maid that Bjorn banged? We haven't seen her since. Why did Lagertha have to remind the women of the village that some of them had been shield maids? Wouldn't they have naturally tried to fight the bandits when they came to raid the first time?? I hope nothing happens to Gunhild. She is carrying Bjorn's unborn child and those bandits are going to return for sure.

Agreed 100% about the horse sequence. Beautiful. I was wondering how he didn't hear the thundering of their hooves in the snow as they rode up. I was disappointed with his decision to sleep w/ her - following in his father's footsteps. You would think he would remember what that did to his own mother and the family unit... I thought they said their sons and a baby were killed? And weren't there only three guys exiled? Where did they get the horses? Poor Hvitserk! Ivar being nice to the kid is a bit strange to me, and the kid mocking Oleg's brother as Reek was a bit disturbing...

Maybe there is a rift between mom and dad Plath and their parents? I assume they are "worldly" and would be considered a bad influence.... Would they let the kids off of the homestead to see the grandparents? Or would the grandparents have to come to the homestead??

Or the opposite. When a parent has said or done something offensive, my brother will ask me if I know what MY (insert appropriate parent) has done/said.

The car commercial that shows a car approaching a gate, and wolves/dogs growling possibly to protect the property? (With annoying tinkling creepy music playing)... the gate opens the car drives up the driveway and then the wolves/dogs back down because the car is badass?? Makes me stabby. And they have run this commercial a few years in a row at xmas time.

I have a friend that is a teacher in nyc at a charter school and she told me horror stories about having to teach when super sick - like in the middle of a lesson she had to excuse herself to go puke in the restroom and then return to finish the lesson/day. I think they had a very limited amount of sick days and days off. So lots of the teachers were teaching while super ill. Of course the little buggers that they taught were germ factories, so .....

Drawing croquis (the model/sketch) is not really done on a realistic body shape. They are always a bit distorted - with super long legs, tiny waist etc. That is just how it is done in the industry. Rarely is a sketch on a regularly proportioned figure, and even then it will be a bit elongated

I used to change the channel when I would hear him speaking, I hated his voice so much! But then.... I don't know what happened. I love his shows... his sense of humor... and I have a tiny tiny crush on him (yes, I know he's married).

I think they probably live in one of those areas where jaysus rules the education and so they are taught abstinence and "just don't do drugs". Nothing beyond that.
