  1. it seems to happen a lot with series not on major network/cable/streaming companies or major stars, especially in the beginning. If they are good however, they catch on later by word of mouth. One other such series is Travelers, that thankfully got a second series but still waiting for a renewal for a third. Anyway, there is also an active forum going on on Reddit, so I find myself jumping between the two (after the demise of the IMDb message board, I get it where I can find it:). https://www.reddit.com/r/Counterpart/
  2. I'm not seeing how Alt-Saru would have gotten from the Shenzhou to the palace ship. He wasn't on the shuttle with Michael, was he? I admit I did not think this thru. I just recognized him and thought she did too. Maybe they just reused the same mask (and she recognized the familiarity), to make her and us even more shocked at the outcome (which was really a bit much).
  3. Yes, sadly it seems it was. They did not linger long during the "Choose a Kelpian" scene but Michael did see and chose the one that looked like Alt-Saru, I assume hoping to find some connection with him. she will need some serious therapy when she meets prime Saru :).
  4. Try this interview with the series creator. It elaborates some of the thinking behind the way they decided to go with the show. I found it quite fascinating and it made me want to make the effort. I am now on third re-watch of the pilot and still discovering little details I missed before. What I like about shows that do not explain too much is that it invited audience discussions via forums. http://www.slashfilm.com/counterpart-interview/
  5. On first viewing I assumed we only first saw Prime Howard's world at the end (with the Moskva cafe) but on re-watching the episode I realized the first scene is actually also in Prime Howard's world. I like how they let us slowly figure this out without any overt titles or signs or expositions, apart from the bare basics. Like not having the two Howards have any distinguishing physical differences (like hair, glasses etc.) apart from the slight stubble of the Prime one on the first meet. Or the technology difference that Wilnil so observantly explained. I keep discovering nice subtle gems that I missed, like at the closing scene when Meek Howard puts on a record to listen to with his drink. This song remains as the soundtrack for the Prime Howard scene in the Moskva cafe (also with the same drink, not Vodka this time:) and he actually sings a phrase from the song. But in his world its just the soundtrack, not actually playing in his background. A reminder that in his conversation with Meek Howard he claimed not to care for any specific music, so this was another lie on top of his wife being dead.
  6. In the photo on the reddit page, who is that woman between Dirk and Todd? After looking at the full picture http://www.gstatic.com/tv/thumb/tvbanners/14520015/p14520015_b_v8_aa.jpg the only significant female character left is Lydia Spring from season 1 (the missing girl that swapped body with the dog). I googled the actress picture and it seems to fit (unlike the others, she does not look all that different than her character).
  7. Found a nice theory on the boy in Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/DirkGently/comments/7ax5ds/theory_it_is_the_boy/
  8. I actually thought this was very realistic as she is in labor with hormones all over the place, so feeling emotional and vulnerable makes a lot of sense.
  9. Initially he did not plan on loosing his entire inheritance, just allowing his father to use a small part of i. It was his father greed, when he saw how much he could get back on it, that decided to invested it all. Chuck was quite shocked when he discovered what his father did, but his hate for Ax was so intense, he eventually decided it was worth the loss. His cry/laugh in the hotel was almost biblical: "“Let me die with the Philistines!”"
  10. She know they are spies, I don't think they told her that they never married, like they never got into details about how they were recruited or paired. They must realize that with her religious beliefs and being their daughter, it may shock her a bit too much and there is no reason for her to know. She probably assumes they were a couple to begin with.
  11. Apparently caring about social issues is becoming fashionable, so two TV series with cutthroat legal firms are changing direction. Both Suits and The Good Wife spin off (The Good Fight) get Mike and Diane Lockhart to work in socially caring firms. Having their cake and eating it too :). Don't get me wrong, I am all for it but I am not sure the motivation behind it is honest.
  12. From the previous episode I understood that he was laundering money for the Doctor (thru the bank?) and stealing a significant amount of it. This only required him to know the doctor was getting the money illegally, not the type of operation he is running. There was no reason for him to know it was a con operation or what kind of con (in this case a honey trap). In fact the doctor may be running many more types of criminal operations.
  13. They apparently are trying to bring back to the final season as many of the recurring guest stars from previous seasons as they can. This sometime requires manufacturing unconvincing reasons, like Sully in this one.
