  1. I don't have a huge problem with that, as of course, Meredith is not just his daughter, but an award-winning surgeon. The nurse knew if anything happened, she could handle it, and he also wanted to give them alone time.
  2. It occurred to me, since Jo is now an attending, doesn't there need to be a new chief resident? Hmmm...
  3. According to IMDb, Dabney turned 87 (!) on January 3rd. Makes sense, he was already middle aged when he was in WarGames (which was 36 years ago), and the short-lived Buffalo Bill series (which was on the fall of 1983, and introduced (to me anyway), a lovely vision known as Geena Davis)) :)
  4. Is that a record? I don't recall any previous seasons with more than 24, but I could be mistaken.
  5. That's what I remember. Dean was talking to some of the other guys at the station, phone rings, he looks, caller ID says "JJ". One of the other guys says (I think) "You need to take that?" Dean refuses the call and says something like "No, not important". And I was like, bye JJ. Kinda sad, as I like Brenda Song, but she was probably only signed for that arc. I follow Brenda on facebook, and I was tempted to ask her, but I didn't :)
  6. LOL, Mandrew is the only one that works (Anddith just sounds weird)
  7. Interesting. Well, with the end of Scandal, Kate Burton was available. And as I said in my other post, the original dog who played Doc is very likely no longer with us, so they had to shoot with a look-alike (maybe one of his descendants?)
  8. It was nice to see him again. I'm guessing it was a different canine actor playing Doc last night, as the season 2 finale was 12 years ago, so even if the original dog was relatively young (say 2 or 3), he would be 14 or 15 now, and would probably no longer be acting if he is even still alive.
  9. I was thinking that also. Maybe he is renting (owner has a long-term job out of town, didn't want to sell, maybe gave him a break on the rent because of his service, etc. etc.) Or maybe he has an inheritance. I suspect we won't find out and may never see the place again (I don't remember seeing it when he was with JJ. Her place got trashed, so it wasn't like he was at her place, unless she got something else.)
  10. Good question. In that case though, the "pingee" isn't a suspect in a crime, also exigent circumstances, saving someone from danger, etc., etc.
  11. When that whole Spanish dialogue was going on, I called it then. In part to my real-life experience. Many years ago, my mother had a friend, also African-American, who had a degree in Spanish and was a high school Spanish teacher in Chicago. Naturally, he spoke fluent Spanish. He spent a year in Puerto Rico, my mother and I visited him once, and he told stories how unsuspecting locals would talk to each other in Spanish around him, thinking he didn't understand, and he would answer in perfect Spanish lol. I would be interested to find out how the Captain knows Spanish (I guess he could have been a Spanish teacher before joining FD, but it seems to me that he is a career firefighter). All and all, too funny.
  12. Hey, why not? Wasn't that album on the Billboard album chart for like 20 years?
  13. Cue a scene of the dinosaur, now older, seated in front of a computer streaming the latest Jurassic movie and laughing hysterically. "Those Hollywood idiots never get it right. Glad they're all gone!"
  14. That explains it. That's happened with NCIS also (CBS thing?)
  15. Not completely related to the episode, but were there not coming attractions for next week shown? At the end of the episode, there was the usual voiceover (by Santiago?) "Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode, etc", then commercials, then a promo for Colbert, then they did the thing where the closing credits go by at warp speed while another promo shows, then all of a sudden, Elementary has started. Maybe it was just my station, but I'm in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market, and the CBS station there is an O&O, so less likely to be any such snafus. Maybe I'll check YouTube later.
  16. ^^This. The main thing is his experience in space. Missions change. IIRC, some of the crew of the very first Space Shuttle missions were former Apollo astronauts (less than 10 years between Apollo 17 and Columbia's first flight).
  17. Yay! Jeff Perry was great on Scandal. It may be hard to not think of him as Cyrus LOL. Maybe some other Scandal alumni may turn up (not Scott Foley, as he died on Grey's) I wonder if Tony Goldwyn will direct an episode or two.
  18. I enjoyed Taylor on The Event as well. Alas, it was yet another of Blair Underwood's NBC one-season wonders (LAX, The Event, Ironside). I didn't even bother to watch Ironside, though I did watch the latter seasons of the original with Raymond Burr. I think not too many people realized that Blair was reunited with his co-star from High Incident (remember that one?!?), Lisa Vidal. In HI, she played his partner (they were both uniformed cops in a fictional city in Southern California, in the Event, she played his wife (he was POTUS, so she was FLOTUS). The Event had promise, but ultimately didn't realize it (much like Flash Foward, which I think was the year before on a different network (ABC)).
  19. I'm probably wrong, but to me that seemed like a shoutout to Chelsea Clinton, who attended Stanford, and Bill Clinton of course was a Georgetown graduate (though I don't know if Chelsea even applied to Georgetown).
  20. I should have know that Teddy would turn up, after Kim Raver's arc on Designated Survivor was conveniently wrapped up in the penultimate episode (although it became academic when ABC cancelled that series).
  21. That was actually a part of a Station 19 episode (ambulance from a different station was slow arriving to a multi-injury bus accident)
  22. Yeah, huh? Is there even a chief of ortho? (yeah, I know, an off-screen character we never see)
  23. I seem to remember an episode awhile back called "Put me in coach" (one of the plots were a bunch of the doctors playing baseball or softball). IIRC, that wasn't an actual song title, but a line from a John Fogerty song in the 80s called "Centerfield" (unless there is a different song called "put me in coach" that I've never heard).
  24. Same here. I was a Foreigner fan back in the day (I own their first 4 albums), plus Cold as Ice is one of Sirius/XM 70s on 7's "leadoff songs" (played around the top of the hour, either just before or just after the station id), so I hear it a lot.
  25. I just IMDb'd Mr. Pierson, he has quite the resumé. I only knew him as the dad on Unhappily ever after, the CW network (actually, they were still the WB back then) ripoff of Married..with children, so Geoff's character was their Al Bundy LOL (and the hottie Nikki Cox as their version of Kelly Bundy).
