  1. It seems my credit card gets hacked every couple years on big vacations. Coincidentally, once was while we were also at Zion. We were camping in the park and I know what you mean about cell service! We ate just outside the park and the card was denied at dinner. I called the bank and they cancelled the card immediately. The worst was that we only had the one credit card. The new card would be overnighted, but we were on a road trip and weren't going to be in one spot long enough for the next 4 days. We ended up picking up our new card via general delivery at a post office. I think I know exactly where it was hacked too - a little dive of a burger joint and they took the card into the back to run the check. One of the things they had ordered was a $500 edible arrangement. That's a heck of a lot fruit!
  2. Good news Sunday. I installed a Nest video doorbell and it was successful!! It is also the start of a week of vacation. Not that we're going anywhere, but there will be day trips and seeing our granddaughters. Eldest granddaughter, 3, will spend the night for what she calls a sleepover since I sleep in the room with her. She has traditions which include baking cookies, playing bubbles, running through the sprinkler (will be interesting convincing her it's too cold.)
  3. Nurie has the mask under her chin & I’m sure Nathan won’t be wearing his long. Don’t most airports require masks? I wonder if Jill was wearing one? Haha -j/k
  4. My 3 year granddaughter has sent texts to me that look a lot like Felicity's. She sees her mom pressing buttons and then imitates it. It's interesting when they find the emojis!
  5. Sorry to hear this Lookey. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
  6. I wonder if any of them have long term damage from covid; that’s more scary than handling the illness.
  7. We also have to keep in mind that they're not "together" in that way anyway.
  8. This looks like the Anna from before. I didn't realize the brows made such a difference on her.
  9. I hope everyone is safe from the horrible wildfires. Check in and let us know how you're doing if you get a chance.
  10. @lookeyloo If you need company on your deserted island, I'm available. (I know that defeats the purpose of deserted). I promise to only speak when spoken to and will make as many island cocktails as you want. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
  11. @Jeeves Sorry your camping was a bust, but you’ll be back out there again! I thought of you when I read about these used camper vans. For some reason the link isn’t working, but a company named Jucy rents camper vans and you can buy a used one. My daughter in law has a problem with masks & glasses so she made the ear loops bigger, put a button on one loop & connects the loops on the back of her head. Not as easy as looping over the ears, but better than trying to tie something that falls too easily. I won’t feel comfortable by Thanksgiving to celebrate indoors with extended family so my son and DIL offered to host just our immediate family.
  12. @Jeeves You’ve inspired me! I set up the tent we bought over a year ago & made reservations to camp for 3 nights in October! Can’t wait!
  13. @MadtownThank you for the ISP hint on theme! @Porkchop @Jeeves I love reading about your solo adventures! It was dream of mine to travel the country in an RV after DH retired. Turns out that he's not as fond of camping as I am. Now that we have grand kids, I don't want to leave for extended periods. I'll live vicariously through you and hopefully in a few years, the grand kids could come with me!
  14. There was a discussion in the Jill thread about children being exposed to bacteria during quarantine. I had wondered about this myself and did a little googling. What I found is that unless you're hyper-vigilant about disinfecting, the kids are still being exposed to microorganisms. There is a lot of normal bacteria in our guts, mouth etc. https://theweek.com/articles/919427/lockdown-hurting-kids-immune-systems https://spectrumnews1.com/oh/columbus/news/2020/08/13/how-kids--immune-systems-are-affected-by-quarantine
  15. Are those their real last names? Ham, Comfort, Slick???
  16. I'd be shocked if he's not gone - might not be his choice. Hypocrite.
  17. If I didn’t have to fly to get there, $100 bucks for a mini vacation isn’t bad. Although they’d have to pay me to listen to their speakers.
  18. For what is supposed to be a couple's happiest days, this wedding is really depressing!
