Meh, as I understand, Batman's all guise is sticking in the shadows and being near invisible in the dark (along with using high-tech gadgets). With these colours, she as well may primp herself up with Christmas or neon lights to alert the evil guys that she's here.

And I was wondering how long will it take for Kate to wear that god ugly red wig. Well, the third episode of course! IMO, remove the wig, she looks stupid with it. Also, could they please not do the love triangle trope. Just pair off Kate with that hot blond chick and leave that what's her name with her husband. I mean, who really wants to see it? Third episode in a row and consistent enough for me to warrant a 7/10 rating for it. Not bad, not bad at all.

Well, lookey what we have here, the making of Ultron 1.1. Gee, I wonder how that will turn-out for Lena in the long run. Also, James, a Senator? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAH

Frankly, I have nothing to say about this episode. There are some times when you are left speechless and you don't know whether it is a bad or a good thing. Either I was not in the right state of mind to watch it or it was that unremarkable. What I did not like in this episode were two things: 1) The father. Gah, every time he opens his mouth to be angry about something, I just want to punch him in the face. If that was the intent of his character, then kudos to the writers. 2) If Kate Kane does not go for direct punches of guys two times her size while not in armoured suit, then it's her ex-girlfriend who does it and knocks one out with one hit. I, mean, come on! 3) What I found funny:

Yay! My guilty pleasure is back! 😀 OK, I was sceptical about the season revolving around IT stuff, cause in general I detest how they portray it in fiction (for the same reason I could not stand Die Hard 4), but so far I liked it. Sure, IMO, they pulled the people hooked on virtual reality (I think that in later episodes they will be shown as VR addicts even) from The Longest Journey franchise (if I have to be recent about it, try it, it's a cool video-game franchise), but I'll wait and see where the bomb drops. Of course, Melissa's acting in drama scenes is compelling, however, I would still like to see some lone tear falling at least. But, whatever, tears are saved for sister moments in this show, apparently. So, Kara finally mans'-up (woman's-up) and tells Lena the truth. And of course, Lena is going to be scheming behind her back. Well, at least she stated that she does not want to kill Kara. Well, that's something at least. Also, the new Devil Wears Prada boss speech about doors being closed to journalism, if you walk out... um... yeah, that's not how Non-Competition Contracts work in reality. You see, boys and girls, if you are that good and your former employer does not want you to go to a competitor, you both sign the Non-Competition Contract, in which there is a quid pro quo - I will not compete with you for a certain amount of time, but because my job depends solely on this area of expertise, I will want you to reimburse me in monthly instalments, let's say 90 percent of my monthly pay-check until the Contract expires. You don't agree? Well, I guess that the courts and jury will see otherwise. P.S. Batwoman's pilot for me was better than Supergirl's pilot episode some years back. Who could have thought. P.P.S. Kara just takes off glasses. "I'm Supergirl, Lena". Yeah... I mean... Lena is mentally deficient in my book. 🤣
-
After so many negative reviews, I decided to actually watch it myself. And... well... I cannot state that I did not like the pilot episode. I have seen much more uninspired pilot episodes than this one (e.g. Supernatural or Preacher), however, I've also seen much more inspired pilot episodes (e.g. 24 or The Walking Dead). However, if I would need to compare this pilot episode with the one Supergirl aired some years back, I would say that this episode was a bit better. Contrary to what people are saying, I did not see much forced LGBQT propaganda in this episode. True, if the mere thought of two women kissing makes you want to heave, then, yes, those reviews on IMDB are actually right - the show is bad. However, in my opinion, this was done whole lot better than Alex and Maggie's situation in Supergirl (where their whole plot-point was that their gay). In here, at least, the fact that Kate Kane is gay revolved around the plot (saving her former lover from possible death), so, the flash-backs were warranted. I would say that the whole tone and colour pallet feels a whole lot more like Gotham. And I think this is a good thing. The production quality is also better than in Supergirl. Here, there is blood and people do die. The main actor is not some unstoppable meta-human, but a simple human (sure, which has martial arts and gymnastics training), who bleeds and takes injuries (which I would like to see more, and would encourage the screen-writers and make-up specialists to take risks and show the viewers injuries that Kate suffers while being a vigilante (remember Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy?)). However, there were some moments of I don't really believe this is possible (like her diving in to ice cold water in the middle of winter for a minute or so, then going to a hut in winter with swimsuit on. No, I don't care how capable you want her to be, but since she is not a meta-human, this thing would cause frost-bites at best). Also, moments were I would say that the fight-scene choreographers have much more to do in a logical sense that is. I don't buy that a skinny girl like Ruby Rose can hold her own while fighting unarmed with men that hare twice her size. The choreographers should have concentrated more on using the environment to Kate's advantage (which was also done, but only towards the end of the first fight scene). I mean, she is clearly quite a gymnast (that Assassin's Creed moment while climbing in to Wayne Enterprises), so, in my opinion (at least until she does not put on her Batwoman suit, which is kinda like a primitive equivalent of Tony Stark's armour, as I presume), the fight scenes should concentrate more on evading, stealth and using the environment to your advantage in order to make it look more believable. I would actually rate this pilot 7/10. Clearly, it has direction where it wants to go, but I'm concerned that that direction soon will be shifted all over the place. I mean, this is Berlanti's production after all. But so far, a promising start.
-
In your opinion, will the show be similar to Gotham in tone (i.e., more serious, the viewers will see blood) or more in the lines what Berlanti's Arrowerse is showing?

S02.E09: Chapter Twenty: The Mephisto Waltz
Rushmoras replied to Lady Calypso's topic in Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina
IMO, too simple resolution. Lucifer did not pose any sort of a threat for all his glory yadda-yadda-yadda. And the end "let's save my boyfriend from Hell" also made me roll my eyes in my mind. Started good, but ended flat. Still, way better than Legacies. -
She's Superman's Cousin!: And Other Supergirl Spoilers
Rushmoras replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Supergirl
Ugh, who in their right mind thought that nine regulars is a good thing? It's not like in this show they divide important plot-elements between nine cast members. Half of them will be used for romance purposes, the other handful will just stand around and do nothing or be between on the line of good and evil, and the remaining two will do what they do always. 😴 -
OK, so, having watched the remaining season, I stand somewhat corrected. He did address it himself somewhat, while talking with Alice on the phone (you don't know in what dark place I was before I met you, paraphrasing). However, I get the feeling that this will be the Following No. 2 where all of the seasons revolve around one bad guy, that has been dealt with, but somehow that bad guy still is spinning things in motion. Instead of Joe Caroll we have... um... what's her name (dammit, really can't remember, the chick with the mask, who worked with Lu Fang Shen).
-
Oh, so Dan is only blaming Lucifer because he has no one else to blame and Lucifer being Lucifer always gets on Dan's nerves? OK then, I thought that Lucifer had something directly to do with Charlotte's death (save for not telling the police Pearce is corrupt, IRRC).
-
IMO, by light years better than season 3. And, at least, if there will not be any season 5, the ending is not a cliffhanger. The only thing that I did not understand was why was Dan acting like a douche. I mean, yeah, he lost Charlotte, but was it Lucifer's fault? I mean, my attention span was that of an elephant during season three, so I don't know.
-
Well, you'd be pissed off then, cause his BDSM activities are not even addressed in S02 (at least up until E08, haven't yet seen the remaining three eps, but who knows). It's like he's a totally different person in the second season 😄
-
Nope. I better like when someone starts from the past from the get go and then builds up to the present, it's not like anything ground-breaking happens to the character anyways. Reminds me of Absentia S02E06, when it started in the present, but a minute after, the viewers gets 'ONE DAY AGO' flash-back. Why not start from ONE DAY AGO in the first place? 😄
-
IMO, she wont be. One of the flaws this show has is too many characters.
-
Well... that was... something... I guess. At least, the Red Daughter was not killed off screen, although, that's not much considering this episode. I'm not changing my mind about this season being the worst. Everything was just disjointed this season: 1. Characters not having proper story-arcs, or, if they do have it, then those story-arcs are disjointed and unevenly spread throughout the whole season that you forget about them, and when they are shown, you go "Oh, yeah, this still happening". E.g., Alex wanting a baby story-line. And where did it went? Absolutely no where. 2. The whole bigger story of the season was pathetic. And not because the writers lacked quality for the story (well, yeah, that too), but because the people, which are being portrayed in this show, are bunch of brain dead monkeys, going from one minute "BURN THE ALIENS" to the next "Oh, right, maybe we were too harsh, because we read it on some CatCo blog". 3. Red Daughter, they might as well have ditched showing her during the end of Season Three, because that went nowhere, apart of her punching Kara a few hours into the future the other episode. And, sure, she sacrificed herself, because lo and behold, she finally understood that she is working for a bad-guy (when that bad-guy tried to kill her), but did someone really care? Was the character that well established throughout this season? I think not. 4. Well, of course, Lex was going to tell Lena that Kara is Supergirl before Kara tells Lena that. Did anyone had any doubts? I'm just not happy that the writers chose the obvious route. Well, I hope that they will not make Lena in to a villain now. I could get by her being grouchy and angry, and yelling at Kara for lying to her about... well... the obvious (considering that she did not have any issues of deducing that Reign and Sam is one and the same; while Reign wore a mask and had a voice-change. Kara on the other hand just lets her hair go for crying-out-loud) for half a season, and then kiss-and-make up, but I just know that they lack quality writing for that. So, of course, Lena will be one of the villains next season(s). 5. Jimmy's sister was only introduced towards the end of the season as a romantic interest for Alex. Gee, that went so well with Sawyer's character. I just can't wait to see zero story-arcs when these two are involved.
-
And just when I thought that it can't get any more absurd, the writers say: "Wait, hold my beer!" 1. The main big bad, who was teased since the end of season three, the whole build up to it... just wiped off, killed off off screen. I mean, well, OK, fine, you did not have the budget to do it longer than five minutes, or Melissa felt uncomfortable to having to change clothing more then usual, but... man, that's just waisted... 2. Lex Luthor is hailed a hero. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. This is the most f... absurd thing ever. Person, who was sent to jail for terrorism, crimes against humanity, poisoning a court-room, is hailed a hero, because he thwarted plans of invasion and killed the terrorist. And no one is questioning, what the f... just happened. You know, I was going to wait for the final ep to say this, but I will say this now... this season is the most absurd and pointless season out of all SG seasons there was. Can't believe I'm saying this, but season one, minus its white male bashing and mentioning of Superman's trade-mark for half a season every ten seconds or so in one way or another, was the most quality and interesting season of SG to date. This season, is the worst to date. There, I've said it.

Are you talking about the same DEO where anyone could just go waltz in laddy-daddy-da and nothing would happen? Hell, in Season Three I thought they will make DEO a tourist attraction in some point. Actually, DEO is f'in useless in this series.
-
Yeah, added something unrealistic, which was never even addressed before, to make him relevant after being dumped by Kara (that's something what Once Upon a Time would do). They added another "hero" in to the mix (as if there is a shortage of them, why not just rename the series in to Super Friends *barf*), thus, diminishing Supergirl's scenes yet again. I can't wait for Season Nth, where Supergirl will be in the sidelines for ever. *That was sarcasm by the way*
-
You mistake guts for plot convenience. In Season One there was no indication that he can even fight, and bam, in later seasons - a masked vigilante with a black belt all of a sudden.
-
Cause Brainy made that she can syphone her energy from the dream world, so, I guess, she can conjure anything from the dream world. Oh, so that's why Eminem in "Without Me", in 2002 I think, song mentioned FCC lol. Oh, no, not just you. Actually, for me, the best episodes in entire series is when Kara and Alex are reminiscing about the past. Its very much Smallville-esque.
-
For those who said in that other episode's thread that Lex is probably mind controlling everyone in prison, I just have to say - ha-ha! You were wrong! Told you, that the whole freaking system there is freaking corrupt. All you need is a big bag of money and voulia - turn a maximum security prison in to your personal SPA and resort. 🤣 Also, Otis, you dumb f**k, don't recognize that the chick in prison is identical to the chick in Kaznia? Did they fry your brain while making you in to a Kryptonite fuelled Robo-Cop?
-
I'm betting that it will come down to the Red Daughter. Like <something something> Alex comes to a conclusion that Red Daughter looks exactly like her adoptive sister <something something>, Alex will want to help RD and SG to come to terms <something something>, Lex looses, <something something> we see something ambiguous from Lena in the last episode. P.S. OMG, Lex tried to kill James eight times... he's not very good at it then.
-
Yeah, I get it, but in this day and age of quality television, I find it absurd. I would find it somewhat credible, if not for the fact that Lex poisoned all of the courtroom in that scene.
-
Well, that's one way to look at it. And there's another way, simply bullshit writing, because the persons responsible for the plot, instead of wanting to find a more logical way for Lex to be involved, decided to take a page from the early 1990's campy TV shows (like Power Rangers, Xena et al) and make everyone succumb to a multi-billionaire simply because he has money. But overlooked the fact that he's supposed to be serving 31 life sentences for mass murders, eco-terrorisms and whatnot else the indictments were. Just image Hannibal franchise (with A. Hopkins), where former wealthy professor-cannibal, who was serving life sentence, could have been walking freely without any escorts, do what he wants in the institution, which was holding him, simply because he had money. That type of shit would not fly with anyone, but somehow it flies in here, because, what? They are portraying a super-villain? Even this trope should be shrouded in some sort of reality standards. This isn't 1990's or earlier decades anymore. And, what are they trying to show with this? That all of the justice system is corrupt? Then, if that's the case, Alex shouldn't even bother trying to rid her institution of the enemies, which are in a form of Col. Hailey and co., because the enemy is the whole government system so it seems (example, that Ben Lockwood was promoted to be the Director for Alien Affairs. A person, who was sent to jail for pogroms against aliens). No, this is just crappy writing, that belongs in the sewers.
