  1. I have so many question, but I think we may never get answers to some of them. Has Wolf given Hargitay the keys to the SVU show? If not, how much clout does she have or what is she guaranteed? Does she have to bring in each show under budget to keep her character as the main one each week? Can the Benson character take two weeks off to see how it effects the ratings or does it need to be a whole month?
  2. I think it could work if they can come up with some kind of scenario where she gets rid of all her mental baggages that she had accumulated since coming up from the South
  3. Thank you for mentioning his name, I can picture him but I can't remember, his name and I was way too tired to look it up.
  4. Total agree with this and the others who have noticed Benson and her special talks with the special victims. They should have added another character, a victim's advocate or something, he (or she) could have taken over for the FBI profilers position. But NOOOO, they had to reduce the number of SVU members, to cut the budget.
  5. For the comments just mentioned above about Haritay directing the next episode, it makes me wonder if the writing and producing will suddenly have some quality to it?
  6. No argument here. The behind the scenes negotiations is up to them, but from what I read from past comments, Wolf is notorious for penny pinching as per cheapness in production & writing.
  7. It looks like the writers are trying to make Benson look good again, by having the Commissioner put all the responsibility of investigating the crime on Benson and saying it at a press conference. Then they go out to bring in a supposed friend of the victim (the cousin), but do it in a sloppy way by forcing the guy to run away and Sykes chases him down (mock heroics). Benson talks to the witness and is told there is a discrepancy about the number of attackers, and Bruno mentions the "Third Man Syndrome", that only he knows about, and the rest are clueless. And the writers couldn't help but put in a speech for Benson to console the victim at the end.
  8. From the preview they showed, it looks like Benson will be talking in her whisper voice to give a awe-inspiring speech to the homebound witness to speak up and testify
  9. Benson has a tendency to be really compassionate with the so-called victims at the time and also very confrontational and accusatory with the so-called suspects. There doesn't seem to be too much objectivity at first from Benson and she sets a bad example for Curry.
  10. Not hoping, but gave it a split second thought because it would have given Benson another reason to be in the spotlight showing emotional turmoil.
  11. Why does Benson have to belittle a fellow officer (or the forensic guy) to make her look smarter or tougher, just to look under that classic car? This episode seems to focus on Benson again. What about the other characters, especially Ice-T. How about giving him an episode with another detective. Why was Curry all of a sudden given a weak stomach, hasn't she been around long enough to see the good and the bad? She should have worked the case with with Fin.
  12. You can't get anymore succinct than that!
  13. For what it's worth, I think the Justice Channel is no longer carrying the Perry Mason TV episodes anymore, nor are they carrying the Matlock TV episodes also.
  14. I got a feeling Benson is going to give an uplifting speech to this rape victim, when she froze on the witness stand. I wonder why no one had the common sense to ask the victim, there is a chance if you don't testify, he will probably rape again. The self confession at the end that he just did it for attention seems very forced by the writers inconsistent way to end this episode.
  15. Why is the squad claiming the victim saw her rapist in the changing room? Maybe she was looking away when he walked in and then pulled down his mask? I don't know how Benson can judge her like that? Why are they making the press look bad and not the prosecuting attorneys in NYC, who let these criminals off?
  16. Just noticed it when I logged on. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/michael-weatherly-causes-frenzy-online-170000472.html
  17. I got a feeling this search for Maddie will probably take all season and we will see Benson taking on the perp, George and rescuing the girl.
  18. One word, "Superficial". No depth at all. The trial part was only about 5-7 minutes.
  19. You know it's probably bad if it's at Hudson University!
  20. Did you get a chance to watch the second season, and did you watch the "Case of the Fancy Figures? If so, did you notice the characters Jonathan Hyett and Valerie Brewster? They were father and daughter, but in real life he was just 4 years older than her. I wonder if other viewers were wondering why she was cast as his daughter?
  21. And Cigarette sponsors were shelling out a lot of money on TV shows at the time.
  22. If you are interested in binge watching, the Justice Central channel is showing the entire 1st season of Perry Mason today, and it started at 6am.
  23. Ice-T has been busy of late in case you didn't notice. He has been doing commercials for a car repair insurance company with Vivica A Fox where it looks like they are trying to sweat out a confession from some perp. But yes, it sure seems like we will be getting the "Same Old, Same Old" again.
