  1. Outside of Philadelphia, St. Mary's Medical Center had a nursery in 2007.
  2. Remember the scene where Kate is eating fast food in her car, looking at where the house was? What was in place of the house? An empty lot? A new house? Also I totally agree about Jack's worship of princess Kate. Annoying. She's very annoying to me at that age (though I do like teen Kate). The change of costume was so entitled and also that she wanted to be "good girl" Sandy. Not Rizzo or a Pink Lady.
  3. I understand. We get a ton of kids in our development and bought Pirate Bootie, in addition to 6 bags of candy. The Pirate Bootie definitely went first. I was very surprised. I think, if I can remember correctly, Beth helped Rebecca set up Facebook when she came to NJ for the birth. I remember since 2008, August, was when I got Facebook (no longer have it, Thank God!) And yes PR girl, I was born in 1974 and fun size candy was definitely bigger! In fact some of the candy we gave out were tiny squares (Snickers, Milkyways), but we always say they can have more than one piece of candy. Rebecca, being born in February 1950, would be 58 in 2008. My own parents are exactly a year older than Rebecca and Jack (1943 and 1949). They got started earlier having kids. I'm 6 years older than the Big 3 and I have only one siblings who is younger, born in 1982.
  4. Exactly! Rebecca's blue, cold shoulder dress was way too modern and "2017". I noticed it immediately. Her last dress, however, was spot on 1989. Speaking of 1989, are we going back in time with the kid flashbacks? They were doing them in order...like starting in May of 89 with The Big Three and then moving toward 89 Christmas and finally their 1990 10th birthday party. Wonder what year Bec's mom came to visit? Off to Google IMDB. Roadhouse?
  5. Vera Huburt is an amazing writer for TIU and won a prestigious award for last season's episode "The Trip".
  6. Yup. I was registered in Delaware for many years. Loved the lack of yearly inspection! Now I'm in PA. I'm thinking the fire occurred in late September of 1997. Perhaps the 28th when the Steelers played the Oilers. There was green foliage on the trees at the funeral. Plus Rebecca wore no jacket. That may mean nothing, however.
  7. We sang-Time In A Bottle-in 1987 for our "Trip Down Melody Lane" show for choir. 6th grade. That song symbolized the 70's. I love it.
  8. Dr. K was 73 in 1980 when he delivered the twins. I remember because that was my dad's age last season. My parents are each one year older than Jack and Rebecca (1943 and 1949 instead of 1944 and 1950). I'm the same age as Miguel's kids-born in 1974. Dr. K would be 90 in 1997-still totally feasible. Good theories on Reddit's This is Us sub-one about the washing machine catching fire (Chekhov's gun) and one about Jack looking for Kev in the fire as Kate won't admit Kev snuck out. Hence his death. Miguel takes the kids and Randall's girlfriend back to his house before they know Jack's fate. Makes sense to me as Kate did not seem particularly hysterical. In fact when the camera pulls away to Miguel walking over with blankets, Kate looks okay. Just looking down at the dog and petting it. Also she appears rather composed when telling Randall that they "need to find Kev". Maybe Kate finds out about dad before she runs to tell him about the fire.
  9. According to Dan Fogelman we viewers have already seen the day of the day Jack dies. Sorry, cannot link to the article as I've read so many!!! Any ideas??? Apparently it was flashbacked in another episode.
  10. Yes. I read Pet Semetary in 1997 when I was 23. It left me very depressed for about a month after reading it! The whole sudden loss of a child. I found it horrific.
  11. I totally agree! Did not like the mailman one bit! Too much over acting.
  12. Perhaps. I grew up in suburban Philadelphia. Actually right near "Doylestown", which is actually where I reside now.
  13. Yup. My nana gave birth to my mom at age 40 in 1949.
  14. In regard to theme parties. My sister and I and hell, well my 9 year younger brother, grew up in the 80s. My sister (born 1977) had tons of friends and tons of theme parties such as a Double Dare party, a Julian Lennon party, and a Michael Jackson party. My brother had a medieval party, very similar to Kevin's, in September of 1987. There was also a Pee Wee Herman party in 1986. I had none (parties) really, and like Randall maybe 2 decent friends. I'm the Randall in the family (and eldest!), while my sister is definitely Kate, and my brother is basically Kevin in every respect, including looks. Maybe my mom was just overly ambitious and artsy??? My sister had to have the best party. She wasn't like Kate as a kid, but now she truly is, with holding things inside and addictions.
  15. Oh I just got chills! So Rebecca and Jack married in 1978?? They were together in 1972, in the hallway scene from The Big Three Jack mentions meeting Bec at age 28 which would be 1972. Maybe they married in 76, I just have a gut feeling that 1996 is the year. But if the kids are "16 or 17" as Dan has mentioned in interviews, then he has until September 1996 up to August 1998 to "kill off" Jack. BTW: I'm a bit obsessed with the funeral scene (a mix of relating to it and just how beautifully done it was) and have paused it many, many times. No Miguel at funeral. Maybe Miguel was injured at the same building site (if building accident was in fact cause of Jack's demise). Maybe Miguel was in the hospital at the time? Maybe he got some of Jack's organs? I don't know. As a writer (not career) with a psychologist/writer Mom, we utterly dissect this show. Love that my parents are Jack and Rebecca's ages. I'm 42 though. They have a 39 and 34 year old too- and the 34 yr old looks like Justin!
  16. Hi! I'm new and this show rocks my world. Regarding this upcoming episode...I think this marriage clip is similar to the clips last week with the triplets' 1st birthday party and the triplets' 5th bday party. Same with Career Days when Jack slammed a hole into a house they were building and the kids were 3 or so. Just a brief flashback. Rebecca looks over the moon btw!!!! Wouldn't you? Envious. Ugh. I do believe this ep will take place when the kids are in highschool in the 90s. 93? 96??? Dan said the last few episodes (and this one) would focus on the highschool timeline. Dan also mentioned that we don't know what sort of shape Bec and Jack's marriage was in, in the end. God, I just love this show...despite leaves on trees in NY in January!
