  1. So glad I'm fully spoiled so I won't get mad when I watch this episode. I agree with everyone who says they either need to do an all-stars season or stick with newbies. This was remarkably unfair, especially at some of the first team challenges which were newbies vs. vets. Having said that, I would be happy with a Sheldon or Shirley win. I like them both a lot. I'd like to see JT go down in flames. However, I also agree that the fix is probably in for Brooke since she came so close last time.
  2. Sadly, Latrice Royale is the number 1 big girl in my heart. However, I do love a big, lovable queen, so I hope she does well!
  3. To placate and probably to ensure that he won't divorce her or leave her for another woman. Her family seems to have money, but I'm not sure if that money would go to the male heir. I also don't think CF is totally an act. Sometimes I think she is a little over the top on purpose, but overall I think she is real. She has gone on camera without makeup and with unkempt hair. And it wasn't a Juliet thing where Juliet just doesn't know better or somehow thinks she looks classy. It literally seemed like a "meh, I rolled out of bed, oh someone is here to film me? Okie dokie"
  4. I'm already laughing since the keywords on this are "sheree whitfield" and her "book" And $19.99? Girl, no, just no. I may spend that much on the new Stephen King book, or the next Game of Thrones book. But if I need to track Amina's pathetic life, I'll just rewatch LHH. However, special shoutout to the unrepentant entrepreneur selling a USED copy for $25.
  5. yeah, this is how I remember it too. and I remember thinking it was odd, because the people I know who have had difficult childhoods are normally very slow to open up about it. And it's never come out in narrative form before. Its like you'll get a hint here and there, and maybe a story or two, and then a few more, and then maybe you get the full story. Which makes it suspicious to me. I can't for sure say its not true of course, I just found it so different.
  6. That was just gold. A picture worth ten thousand words. In the foreground you have the drama of a girl going through a medical emergency surrounded by worriers...and in the background, Binta dancing for herself in front of a mirror. So priceless.
  7. Oh, and before I forget -- what kind of music video features a rap star not rapping? Seriously -- did VH1 kidnap French Montana's family? He has been making the most random appearances on a variety of VH1 shows and its just bizarre.
  8. I think there should be a show with just Kyle dancing. Think about it, you've had a shitty day at work, or feel like crap after tripping in front of all your co-workers. You come home, turn on the TV, and there is Kyle, awkwardly writhing about in some motion that looks like it could be dancing and you automatically feel better about yourself. Instant satisfaction. In other news, please dance lady, do not encourage models to sing. May I present Exhibit A I'm tired of people singing who have no business singing. Not everyone has to do everything.
  9. I can normally spot a wig from 100 yards away. I'm not going to call it a superpower, but I do have a cape. :) I didn't see any tip offs and I don't necessarily think that fiddling with your hair means it's not naturally long/lustrous. ETA: I just spent the last 15 minutes looking at pictures of Law on my cell phone and @NowVoyager I tip my hat to you! That hairline is almost perfect, but if you look real close you can see the lace, and its all very uniform. So, I guess its a wig, he must have that thing cemented down to the core, or maybe he just braids it on the wig form, but I've never been able to get french braids like that from a wig.
  10. Credit where its due. I haven't been a fan of Caroline S. this year, but it was so refreshing to watch her shut Julie down. Its just nice to watch someone be real, and not strive for a friendship that isn't going to happen and will never be. Not everyone in the world has to like each other and there is no need to hash it all out. Sometimes, its okay to simply be cordial and thats it. However, it was not refreshing to hear Caroline S. judging her friend so harshly and then trying to turn it back around on her. It was a shitty thing to text that to Sophie, she should have just owned it and apologized for it. Julie is a pill, but she seems like a really neat mom I don't like Juliet, but hearing about her parents helps me to understand her a little better. But not enough to like her Caroline F had the most priceless faces. I admire the fact that she doesn't always have to look groomed to within an inch of her life.
  11. "To the choppa!" gets me everytime. I don't know why, but I find it hilarious. All I know is I want to say it to someone so bad.
  12. He looked confused in whole foods as she did it over, and over and over. She also appeared to think it was a joke, not her faithfully repeating a lesson. But hey, different strokes for different folks, it looked like she thought it was a joke when she was doing it in the whole foods multiple times. And he looked confused. But hey, I'll be happy to hear someone make fun of Brooke's flat affect, since I find that a far more amusing joke. But I would guess that people have more respect than to do that to her.
  13. But again, not taking offense, or even joy between the person telling the joke and the person hearing the joke isn't any way to measure its level of offensiveness. One racist telling another racist a racist joke is going to be an encounter that both enjoy. It doesn't mean that the joke isn't offensive. And even if Brooke was lucky enough to run into someone laid back enough to think that their accent/culture being the butt of a joke is something they are willing to laugh off that doesn't necessarily make it inoffensive either. It makes it what it is, a lazy, low hanging fruit joke at the expense of someone else's accent/culture. And not even a funny joke.
  14. I disagree. Like I said, just because someone doesn't take offense to a joke doesn't automatically deem it inoffensive. If all it takes for a joke to be inoffensive is that the person telling the joke and the person hearing the joke both don't find it offensive than any racist joke told between two racists would not be offensive since neither would take offense and both would find it funny. I'm not saying that this was the situation, but the argument that just because Sheldon wasn't offended it must not be offensive just doesn't make sense to me. It can still be offensive even if he doesn't take offense to it. And I'll go a step further and say that even if the brunt of the joke, or a person in the group that is the object of the joke doesn't find it offensive, it still doesn't automatically make the joke inoffensive. Just because Sheldon is super laid back doesn't mean the joke isn't offensive, it just means that Brooke got lucky she didn't run into someone who doesn't appreciate their accent or culture being the butt of a joke. And not even a funny joke. Just a lazy, low hanging fruit joke.
  15. So much this! Sometimes I feel like my eyes are going to roll back to my brain when I listen to her or Tara talk.
  16. MV, but I still find it low hanging fruit. If you can't find a better joke than someones accent...i say just leave the joke alone. Just because someone doesn't take offense to a joke doesnt automatically make it less offensive. To me, at least.
  17. My thing is...enough complaining about Courtney if no one is going to do anything about it. Either kick her off, or get her an ace bandage/epipen/asprin.
  18. quickweave? its a real thing where the hair is attached with glue instead of sewn in. She may have also had a u-part wig which I think leaves your hairline out on top, but is sewn on, and pretty easy to remove/replace.
  19. I think it was probably close, but in the end, the idea of evening up the teams played into the final decision. I guess you could have moved someone over from Ricky's team for the next task, but I think its too close to the end for all of that. And besides, as much as people may like Ricky, I think he isn't that big or likable of a personality to make the finales. And he doesn't seem to have enough talent or big money donors to make it worthwhile to keep him to the end. However, I agree, the big chant that the crowd can get involved in seems to be more of a sport thing than a song. But, George's song was very, very catchy, and I had to actively not hum or sing it after I watched the show. In that way, I think Lisa's team brought something more unique to the table. WE LOVE THIS TEAM is a neat play on Ballmer's words, but its something that anyone could have come up with whether or not they knew about his Microsoft speech. George's song could work as a catchy little theme song of sorts if they wanted to use it. I wonder if Ballmer got a lot of heat for that speech or if people made terrible fun of him for it, which is why he is a little sensitive about it. Now, speaking of money, in the last few years of CA, I think the final task has been a fundraising task. And it has always ended up being a clash of the big money contestants. Joan Rivers v. Annie the poker player. Penn Teller v. Trace Adkins. I think Boy George and Laila Ali probably have some big money donors. Matt already said he doesn't have many big money donors and I can't see how Brooke would have any big donors. So I don't know if it will be another fundraising task or if it will be something else.
  20. Also.....did the girls have to take a cab back home after driving in a rolls royce to the boutique? That Philip Pliner, what a gentleman! I know its nitpicky, but man, what a way to end that Cinderella story quick. Additionally, I don't know Jason Derulo, but the constant "baby," "honey" and other terms of endearment were getting on my nerves. You're here doing a professional photo shoot, not trolling for your next love connection.
  21. This is the thing that makes me suspicious of Courtney's story. I feel like people who have gone through a difficult childhood are generally very private about it, and its something you have to almost pry from them. If you're telling the entire world (on national TV!) about your difficult childhood because you had some minor tiff with a girl.....and you sort of love attention.....I don't know.
  22. LOL, someone must have told Marissa to pretend she gave a crap about Kyle. Marissa was able to do it for about 3 seconds. I don't hate Binta, but she was cannon fodder. However, I think she should have stayed another week and Courtney should have gone. How many times have they told her to stop complaining? How many times have they threatened to back it up with action? Over and over and over they yell at her, but she doesn't get cut. If I were her I wouldn't take them seriously either. But hey, fine acting the entire way around as whatshername pretended like she cared about whatever Courtney was saying. Her body language and question both make me think she was completely closed off, but in the space of 5 seconds she is suddenly crying? Girl, go watch some soap operas...they do it better. I'm not even sure what the initial disagreement was about? She didn't like the way Courtney talked to other people, so she was going to say something the next time she heard it? How about....wait until it happens again and then pipe up. It just seemed like a way to get in the clique of girls that hates Courtney. I'm not sure who I'm pulling for, I like Tatianna, but she might be a little too perfect. I like India, and I'm starting to warm to Corey.
  23. @TaraS1 -- what a beautiful story. I remember watching a VH1 special on him, and how he had had a relationship with a bandmate that had gone south, and it sounded a little like the guy was in the closet and didn't want to acknowledge George. It was just so very sad, especially for someone with a gentle soul. From what I remember, it really seemed to crush him. He is a joy and I love to see him smile because its just so natural and happy. I have been just as touched by his die hard fans, and I know he is too. So, I hope he can continue to surround himself with positivity so he doesn't fall back into it. I was sad to see Carson go, and I wish he could have stayed past Brooke -- who I also just don't like. If he had just chosen the trampoline!!!
  24. He is a really good sport. Jokes based on making fun of someone's accent are really just low hanging fruit. And in that case it wasn't even funny. But hey, maybe she would be amused at someone making fun of her flat affect by mimicking her.
  25. I think it was brought up in the boardroom, but not during her pitch. I think its a pretty fair critique. I would want to know if something I was purchasing wouldn't be there in a month. Me too, I always had a soft spot for Boy George and he is just so darn likable! I suspect that this show will do good things for him.....even if there aren't that many people watching.
