  1. OMG !!! I guess directing her children out of the chef's way was too much to ask... they don't need to help everytime someone gets in the kitchen. This takes me back to an episode when Jen mother had them helping bake/ice a cake and Will kept double dipping...
  2. maybe not for drama, but there is somekind of motive... just have to figure it out what ( some have been for Jen's career , medical appts and Bill's businesses) .. maybe its to show they are well traveled and like adventure.. Gotta admit the Kliens do seem to be on the the go. It is possible the cast has to pay some towards the trip to have an expense to offset their TLC income. Can't pocket every dime otherwise that is just a bigger tax bill. I too doubt Whitney's dad paid all of his bonus $$ to send extras to HI- (1) he appears to be very old school and tight with $$ and (2) if he came into a very large payout (ie sending extra taglongs to HI) from his 9-5 , that is telling that he might be getting laid off, retirement $$, something like that. Now I can see him getting a annual bonus for like him and his wife to go somewhere, though. And maybe it is TLC who want to be on the go - I mean it's not every day one gets to go to SanFran to a medial convention, or to NJ to a specialist for achondroplasia , or to NC to a baptism. New Orleans to talk about international adoption, throw in china, india, and who knows where else - that's a nice job travel perk .
  3. agree . I'm waiting for those tween, puberty years..12-ish with Will... There's been a couple of moments with him and Jen (not last night ) that made me think the same. {popcorn anyone , LOL }
  4. No. I remember these two events.. There was an episode where the Kliens went to Jen's brother (NC?), whose child was being christened. Before that there was a episode where the Kliens went to FL , where one of Bill's brother child was being christened and they also christened Will and Zoey. Now someone can correct me on this detail - Bill/Jen were named godparents in each occasion. I didn't know until then it was common to be named godparent to more than one child. That is a a big responsibility esp. if that job requires one to become the guardian if something tragic happens to the parents.
  5. Hold up... The presence of chicken feet, in a food market, sent Jen's mom to her hotel room ??? Surely there's got to be more to that story... Leaving the aisle or area, yes, but to take to your room , ultimately to bed ? ... - while on vaykay.... And everyone else is moving on and enjoying the day's events? She didn't know what --- chicken had feet... or she never saw them for sale ... or she didn't know people ate them ??? Did she faint, get lightheaded,or was nauseous?
  6. Caribbean cuisine also uses chicken feet in many recipes: ( ex link ). Many cultures believe in not wasting parts and that there is flavor in the meat in parts that are close to a bone or hard muscle. And yes, many meat dept/farmers markets here in the US sells them - you will be surprised what is now sold in the stores - just by slowing down and talking a look, while grabbing the same ole thing one purchases every week. I only caught a small part of the episode (It will rerun soon , I'm sure) - but I do wonder how much of the Chinese culture Will experiences in the US. Yes, he was a different child at the school. I think Bill & Jen are missing a great opportunity in not letting him experience his heritage (and probably diversity) more while at home. And I am not talking about ordering in takeout. If Will is truly missing his culture at age 7-8, then that urge will probably increase as he gets older - esp. listening to stories of others speak about themselves . And that reminds me - are the film laws different in China than the US ? - how come they can film activities at a school in china and not in the US ? I'm ok with not IDing the kids in class but teacher/principal, school pgm, etc. Or did I miss the episode where they filmed them at school-stuff in Houston ? I was good to see (ok well, the little part I saw) for the 6 grands getting along. Nice to know they appear to move past the bitterness of a divorce and remarriage and go on a trip out of the US. I know a few divorced who couldn't be on the same flight w/o a major battle taking place about something that happened (or didn't happen) in 19xx.
  7. This is a Kings Meal... beans , potatoes and roll looks like something I was served in elementary school...
  8. there are several models. I just copied/pasted the first bed that came up on google. Yes, I think they are pricey (the web site is running stated a $500 off sale) but if you have back , upper respiratory or other medical problems, I heard they can be a nice to have. A good sleep has a price tag.
  9. its a bed with an adjustable mattress. and temp control. and softness/hardness of mattress. each side kids gets to their own comfort level. https://www.sleepnumber.com/
  10. "Rat sh*t chance in hell "... ok.. yeah that is small.. Any documentation just how tall is Dr. Greg ? When he came to meet all of the other hubbies - he looked quite short. Next time they cutway to Quads house - let's look for all of this damn furniture he is crying about. Looks like Contessa has found her sexy. That blue sweater dress couldn't get any tighter. Glad she is enjoying her new titties but most important she should be enjoying that she has greatly reduced her chances of getting breast cancer. The young tenderonies tending bar in the basement full of married men---no, And on that note - I hope next season they bring on a DR couple who is early in their practice and marriage. Its getting a little old seeing this crew talk about marital problems (not to say early couples don't have issues) that really shouldn't be played out on TV. It's like that is all they talk about. "King for a day" ??? m'kay - good luck with that. A day is only 24 hrs..then its back to same ole argument.
  11. I think this one of the weeks is the NFL My Cause My Cleats. It the 3rd year. Just saw a touching story on ESPN about Pittsburg Steeler's Cause - touching story about a Marine veteran's story (he stepped on and IED - purple heart recipient). The artist who designed their cleats was at the meeting and put alot of the elements from the marine's story (and struggles) into the cleat. Very detailed and different looking cleat - knowing that each element was part of the full story. I remember the DCC mentioned My Cause My Boot. Anybody know what the causes were this year ?
  12. true. the teaching starts young.. really as soon as the misbehavior starts. I meant though - were the Johnston's on air when their kids were 5-7 yrs old? I only discovered them about 2 years ago. I remember the rest (vaguely the Gosslins) when they were 5-7. Here's an example - Blayke and her cousins were having a "good time" playing with food in the store while shopping for Thanksgiving. Her mom , calmly explained that is not acceptable and they stopped. Now Zoey ??? Even though it could be perceived as cute - I didn't care for Zoey playing the little game that she was not buckled in her car seat and the scence when she pulled Jen into another area to discuss the library shelf build out. The first case, getting in the car seat is not playtime -get in and let's go. In the second case, Jen did exaplain what was going to happen, and that should have ended the discussion. No need of pulling and adult into a side room.
  13. agree. I left them off of my TLC kid list only b/c they are a older than Will & Zoey. they do seem to know when enough is enough. cameras or not.
  14. Maybe it was the filming.... just how deep was the tub ? sorry, all I could think of was doing a cannon ball..
  15. True. Just look last night's breaking US news regarding Bush #41.. 7 mths after wife..married since 1945. If Nonno has health issues (which I suspect is something) then Tre might need to come to a realization that caring for her dad is too much for her to handle and Joe doesn't seem to want to be bothered much. If that is the case, then she needs to look into a day-nurse or day-facility. Family isn't always the long-term answer for care of a loved one.
  16. There's got to be a cutoff for "adorable" - otherwise one day she will be 7, 10, 15 she's still perceived as adorable, which is sounds like she is a toddler. Just thinking back to the earlier laundry list of TLC kiddos in her age bracket, as much as their parents give accolades about them, I don't think"adorable" is a adjective they will use, at Zoey's age, for their kids. Ma Duggar will say "she's so sweet " , though. I guess one way to see the difference in a toddler adorable and a school age adorable , is for Zoey to be in a scene with her peers, doing something that isn't heavily orchestrated by the Kliens (thinking back to that birthday tea party held in a major hotel ballroom). Maybe a younger sibling would make Zoey act a little closer to her age. Also, the other TLC children do spend time with other children (sibilings and/or family mbrs), I get the feeling Zoey thinks she is a 'mini adult' and is kinda lost in acting like a 6 year old. I didn't follow this show at the beginning, but I would love for the 4-6 grands to expand upon just how they handled , financially, the surgeries and other medical costs, including the long hospital stays while working a full time job. There might be a budgeting lesson for all of us there. You hear of stories where someone who has a major illness, goes broke, loses their 401k, , multiple mortgaged home and/or declares bankruptcy. If the grands, somehow managed to avoid those financial woes until Bill/Jen were able to pay for their own healthcare upkeep, then that is a story they should share. Yes, medical ins while employed was in some cases, better 30 years ago (lower out of pocket, lower group premiums, more choices in plans, and smaller deductibles) . At first I thought maybe they had a best HMO in the world, to limit out of pocket, but then Jen would mention going to specialists clear across the country (the hospital in NJ), and didn't think HMOs back then had that kind of global coverage. From what I remember, you had to pick/use a facility that was "on the list". Just exactly what did the 4-6 grands do for a living when they were in their working years ? even if they had a 80/20 plan, unless they had a large disposable income, a week long hospital in a children facility can easily set one back a few pennies. And before FMLA became law, and now with work at home situations, some jobs weren't too friendly back then about taking multiple time off of work to to care for a healing loved one.
  17. Just thinking about other TLC kids who are +/- their (zoey and will) age and how they respond to their parents / other adults...and how they acted towards adults on camera. Blayke Busby (and her cousins), Josie Duggar, Saylor, Wales and Bridge Waldrop, Eliot Jones... trying to remember the Gosslin kiddo when they were that age.. hmmm Sounds like Will and Zoey have set a new standard.
  18. Excellent Summation of what I was thinking, but too afraid to say.
  19. since the duggar and bates pattern their wedding details after British royalty... Left vs. right - Facing the front or as the couple is walking out ?
  20. Is a full parting of the hair coming back for men ? on the right is Carl Dean Switzer the a child actor in the mid-1930s appearing in the Our Gang series as Alfalfa, which is what the part reminded me of...
  21. and probably used the same orthodontist..
  22. are they still using the hotel shampoo & conditioner ? LOL
  23. That story of Johah having an "accident" while locked in the van while the mom was shopping is going to stick around for a while...Gosh, I wish his sister would have found another memory to share.... not only its was on TV .. now the story is on a family memory video...
  24. ! 10 people on a overseas trip for a 7 yr birthday party and a business meeting ? I heard Bill's potty pads are made there Trent and Amber seem a little old school and that they may not have felt it was comfortable (ie appropriate) to go to China for a 13 yr old when they haven't tried the Chinese experiences on Buford Hwy, as well as them/Emma spending time with those still embrace/celebrate the culture here, in the US/GA, every single day. That is another issue I have with the Kliens - sure go to China for x-days, but when you get back to US/FL, then what - the culture gets put aside ? Trent strikes me a person who believes in making/earning his own way and has a line on handouts. Yes, TLC picked up the dime at the restaurant (which seemed like close to 10 people ) with all of the different dishes as well as the grocery store tab. RE: Anna - given that she is 18 +/-, going to Russia is fine. I think she will get alot out of a trip. Either way, the Johnstons need to resolve traveling-paper work issues - -passports- whether they go someplace or not. Surprised TLC isn't pushing or assisting them with that effort. PS : I would have been ok with China at age 13 , if that is what Emma wanted to do.. And I agree - Trent probably cares less than a damn what the Kliens are doing. He seems to have a very strong way of how he wants things to be run in his household. I kinda like that.
