  1. I hate the latest commercial that uses quotes from people after the finale. It's especially irritating when I see this one..."I couldn't breathe." Or something along those lines. Ugh.
  2. I hope Dan doesn't try to act clueless as to why people are always expecting twists and whatnot on this show.
  3. WHY is the fire being considered a twist? I wouldn't consider that one.
  4. I just can't take this nomination seriously. I feel like this type of show (for many of the reasons deaja mentioned) typically isn't a part of the Emmys, and actually feel as though many would have laughed in the past at the idea of such a show being included. And also, it feels like it got its nomination by campaigning alllll season looooong. Non-Stop.
  5. It gets real interesting sometimes discussing this because when we are talking about proposals and lengths of time and not being into someone......this was done over the course of....was it six weeks? So I think comparisons to men not proposing and stringing women along are hard to equate (for me, anyway). And sometimes men are with a woman and know she is the one, but still hold off on proposing because they think it's too soon even if they already know. In Rachel's case she had waited 5 years with a previous boyfriend. That's a huge difference. But Peter did tell her he wanted to keep what they had going off the show. What would have happened if she agreed to that? That would have made things harder for him to become the Bachelor if that's what he has wanted all along, I would think. Anyway, I guess I should point out that I love Rachel. I could listen to her speak all day. Just so there are no generalizations being made because that tends to happen.
  6. Yeppers. I think Justin thought he would get one for that monologue he did....LOL!
  7. It was interesting to watch. It seemed he let his guard down most at the very end, maybe because he didn't believe he really had a chance. Not sure he believed she really wanted him to be THE one until the very end.
  8. I dunno.....I don't think so. It didn't seem like something she enjoyed at all. More frustrated and wishing it would just be easier regarding the proposal. Felt to me like a.....look, give me what I need so I can pick you. This is your last chance because it's tomorrow and I need to know whether to pick Bryan or not.
  9. Just watched Rachel and Peter's breakup and.....dang, they seem devastated. Not seeing that Peter isn't into Rachel. He seems VERY into her. This stinks.
  10. It's really hard to watch this even though I've been keeping up with spoilers all season. Watching Rachel interact with/look at Peter and then with Bryan. Looks like she's trying hard to focus on Bryan. I can only seem to pay attention when she's talking to Peter because it's like someone pushed *start* and Bryan starts scripting. Again.
  11. I kept wishing I was watching Girls Trip for the third time during this. Strange movie.
  12. Saw this twice already. Haven't had that much FUN at the movies in a long time. Laugh out loud funny....some people in the theater truly could not stop LOL. The commercials before this came out definitely didn't do it justice. I'm glad I went to see it because just seeing the commercials before, I wasn't too interested.
  13. Too bad they didn't come to their senses and take back the big one....
  14. I get the impression listening to Peter talk that he has been given advice in the past to be very direct, clear, etc. I sort of cringed a few times last night even though he didn't really say anything bad/wrong. I just think in general people aren't used to that approach. It's interesting because not doing so actually tends to lead to more problems, misunderstandings, down the road.
  15. I thought two things: 1.) She is upset because she's so in love with him or 2.) She's upset because he is the only one telling her exactly what she wants to hear and so this makes her have to think about whether or not to pick Bryan (if Peter doesn't say what she wants before the end). Personally, I think Bryan is who she decided to go with if Peter did not come around....but who knows.
  16. Man I was screaming (in my head) at this. They are so beautiful together. I wondered if she was saying that to try to get him to propose....or if she really does believe that. Problem is, I think (I guess) that people do this because they are tired of waiting for their great love or whatever and just want it to happen right then, right away. No matter what.
  17. Awww Rachel and Peter seem the most naturally couple-like to me.
  18. I thought Peter looked pretty terrified at the rose ceremony. If he normally tries to stay controlled regarding his emotions, I think he wasn't able to hide it in this case.
  19. I don't see why she would not let him go before Dean if that were the case. That way it would not look like she was letting Dean go because of his family and after she apparently said I love you to him. Her answer as to why she let Peter go could have been simple. But this is two weeks now where the theme is Peter is not ready and she keeps him around. It seems more like a she might sort of upset because she really wants to pick him but isn't really liking some things she's hearing. Should have quoted ridethemaverick....RE: Rachel/Peter
  20. Man this is frustrating. It still seems to me that Peter is the one she REALLY wants for a serious relationship. But then Bryan's right there with the whole prince charming act. He's always "on."
  21. It's kinda odd that after giving practically every cast member a nomination simply for showing up and breathing, Mandy didn't get one. But then again, Rebecca IS the cause of all things horrible, so. I guess I thought Emmy nods seemed to be (usually) when shows that weren't all about buzz and gimmicks could get some recognition. I hate that this means that there will probably be even MORE monologues and guitar playing next season. It's as though I could hear Dan Fogelman saying more of the guitar!!! It's very Emmy-ish!!!
  22. I think Justin thinks he really deserves a nomination. I lol at the fact that practically every single other person on the show has gotten a nomination but him. It's probably killing him. I think that will be his next thing to whine about now that he is on a hit show.
  23. This show has managed to disguise itself as worthy of nominations from the top award shows. The hype and the apparent desperation to include broadcast TV in the drama category really worked in their favor. Shaking my head.
  24. After the latest episode it had me wondering if she could have been possibly talking about Peter. The lack of the use of the word "love" and the drama of the next episode are reasons I could see her describing their relationship that way. With Bryan it seems they have been on the exact same page since day 1, no question of where he stands, etc. ETA: This interview was before fan reaction to the guys was in place. Maybe she didn't think fans would take to Peter if it's him she's talking about. He doesn't put it all out there in the way for instance, Bryan does.
