  1. I thought the lightbulb was a thank you. I usually just use the like button, or the heart.
  2. I grew up in parts of England, mostly close to London (I didn't know at the time, but we were a twenty minute drive from London). Also in california: Clear Lake, and Petaluma. I miss them both (Petaluma, and the london area). The best years of my life went to middle-of-nowhere, Ohio, where you can't walk anywhere, except maybe a gas station. The only good thing about it is the space, and people here are kinder than they were on our street in Cuyahoga Falls, when I was agoraphobic, and they treated us like lepers. My parents were busy, but only two neighbours acknowledged us. Mum made some good friends when she moved to Garrettsville, as a newlywed, but a lot of women acted like queen bees, and treated her like an outsider.
  3. It's still happening, and something like interference on my screen. Jumping a bit, breaking screen.
  4. I'm going to have to try this again, at some point. When I watched it before, it was on my ipad, and I thought it jumped around too much, and just skimmed. I didn't like it.
  5. I liked raspberry ginger ale, but can't find it anymore. I don't known if I'd like raspberry coke. I found, when I had a cold after Thanksgiving, that I like ginger juice. I don't like it in chunks in my food, but I like the juice in a hot drink with honey and lemon. I've added it to cold fresh juice before, but I've never really liked it outside of that.
  6. It's happening to me, too, and there are blocks of space in between posts. When I refresh, they go away, but the banner comes back briefly at the bottom, and I have an arrow pointing upwards, on the side of the page.
  7. My peeve is that it was an absolutely beautiful day outside, until I showered, made a hot drink, and was just about to go out there. Now we have rain coming in.
  8. This is the quote: “The larger the group, the more toxic, the more of your beauty as an individual you have to surrender for the sake of group thought. And when you suspend your individual beauty you also give up a lot of your humanity. You will do things in the name of a group that you would never do on your own. Injuring, hurting, killing, drinking are all part of it, because you've lost your identity, because you now owe your allegiance to this thing that's bigger than you are and that controls you.” ― George Carlin, Last Words Wait, no, it was a different one that will sound very political, when it's from something like thirty years ago.
  9. I used to think that most people were basically good. I haven’t felt that, for a while now. I saw a George Carlin quote online, about people in groups versus individuals, that made some sense, but I don’t really agree with that, either. Not entirely. I don’t like it when people who know better, try to scare others in order to persuade them to do what they want them to do. If it isn’t a valid fear - like conspiracy theories that you get flying around. I don’t think I can expand on that, because these things end up being political (now), even when you’re talking about people you personally know. E.g. I have friends who have gay and trans kids, and I will do whatever I can to protect them. Don’t get me started on death threats. People receiving them, because some people disagree with them, or fans of tv shows, who hate a character. I remember an actor shutting down his social media, because fans didn’t like something his character did.
  10. I didn’t follow any of the forums that have been shut down or threatened. I didn’t even know there was a shopping channels forum.
  11. I loved Red Dwarf, but I don't know if I watched the whole thing. I just remembered this, as soon as I saw it mentioned. The toaster is another:
  12. It's just an app to chat on, that you can also use with your browser. You can have different forums on a server. You can make calls with it, and have group chats, if you want to. Or stick with text.
  13. I meant to add that I don't think everyone who doesn't like them, is a horrible person. I was specifically talking about people I know, either personally, or on other sites. I don't like everyone. My people that I can't ignore, are political figures who won't stop trying to do us dirty. I don't body shame them, I won't talk about their looks, but I will shame their attitudes and what they're actively working for, from here to eternity.
  14. Thank you. I know of "fire" from social media, so that's why I took it as a good response, not a bad one.
  15. This Disney character reminds me of my cat, George.
  16. I thought the flame emoji was "hot" as in: "Yeah!" the "you go, girl" of the emojis.
  17. On an entirely different forum (not here), I defended a certain Royal, after seeing a thread start out with faux concern, like dipping their toe in the water, as to how they might be received. Once the thread turned fully hateful, I responded to something (not being unkind, just not slamming her), and the OP tore into me, like I'd mortally wounded someone. I told them they should have just stated at the beginning, that it was a hate thread, but that would be admitting that she could never do anything right, they just don't like her. They love the worst kind of conspiracy theories. That is when I actually started to become snarky. A new-age site, people who think they're spiritually superior, and they really aren't. I remember one thing repeated, when it came to her, and others, like Taylor Swift. "she's just doing it for attention." So, don't give it to her. If all of their haters just stopped paying attention to them, it would cut it in half, I'm sure of it. But that would be no fun for them. they like giving them negative attention.
  18. I still have the taste buds of a child, and I've recently discovered Warheads sour sodas. I found one in the Dollar tree, when I was with my dad, making deliveries. I found them again at Krieger's, last week, and got a few of them. I'm currently sipping the sour apple one. Oh, I did like something healthier. Last Summer, when I tried Chile Colorado for the first time (and every time since, from the same place), they gave me an avocado salad. Spicy avocado, or the dressing was. I don't like avocado, but I liked it mixed into salad. So, just before Christmas, I found this spicy avocado in a tub in walmart, and bought some. I just got more, the other night, and had a small salad with some tonight. I love it. I love Noosa yogurt. It's the only one I really like. I mix supplements into the small tubs.
  19. I also don't know how much we can say here. I'm all for being inclusive, but I have no interest in merit badges. I also think, if they want a younger community, that ship has sailed. Message boards aren't popular, anymore. Tiktok, discord - that's where I see them, if they aren't on reddit. But I'm not a kid, so there are probably apps out there, that they don't want their parents joining.
  20. I've been caught in a back-and-forth like that, a few times, because other people kept responding, and I didn't know if I should respond, or just ignore. I recently had that happen on reddit, with a season finale, and I finally had to say, "I really don't care enough to keep this up." ❤️ to those of you who responded to me. Just the usual worries. I'm not feeling that talkative, but I might vent when something improves.
  21. That was me. I would miss this place. I can't remember the last time I reported someone. I don't know if I have here (thinking of the entire forum).
  22. I've started and stopped The Wire, several times. Same with Deadwood. I can't settle into much of anything now. I miss when I would just put something on, and several hours later, I'd just be curled up, and really into it. That happened with "Big Love" when I had the DVDs out of the library, years ago, and put them on when I was sorting out my room. I started "Monk" recently, after it showed up on Netflix. Easy to watch, amusing. I'm also in the mood for The Closer. The other night, I found a show from 2008, called Survivors, on one of those dodgy sites. I remember watching the first three episodes somewhere, when it was new, but can't remember if it was on BBC America, or something else.
  23. We had Spectrum, until October 2020. Dad was paying at least $120, and he would get the price down a bit, only for them to increase it even more. We had no premium channels, and it was still way too much. I keep forgetting to cancel a few streaming services. Dad has been checking them out more (Paramount and Peacock), but I want to watch a few things, and then cancel them for a while. I've watched Freevee, but only a little bit of the Bosch spin-off, and a bit of "Reba" last Summer, after someone mentioned it in a reddit thread about comfort shows. that's one I want to get back to. Judging Amy, was on youtube, too.
  24. I totally forgot about this show. I finally watched this episode last night. After starting the show almost a year ago.
