  1. I'm hoping that it's NOT that she's conflicted over Ryan, but that she's so angry with Alvey that she's just not saying anything right away. I get the feeling from previous episodes that, except when drunk, a serious discussion happens only after she gets back down to simmer from boiling. I don't think she's in love with Ryan, if only because she'll tell him to "f" off without hesitation. The whole arrangement going undetected by the parole officer was indeed going to blow up in their faces eventually, but Alvey didn't have to bear the brunt of any of it, and it WAS too convenient and random that the P.O. got off on sweat (ugh!). It was just one of many things that seemed "off" this episode. No Christina? Is she really at a point where no one is watching her? Did we know that Alvey was on meds, and why, before this? Plus, no follow up on Nate. I almost felt like I'd missed an episode, except for Jay pointig out (awesomely!) the broken mirrors!
  2. I'm bummed that Abel didn't kill Gemma, just because the shock of knowing what she had wrought and raised would be that much more impactful. Jax doing it was more like having him do his homework. I guess Jax needed to check post-matricidal coitus off his bucket list, and that's why he couldn't be bothered to claen up after his mess. Or maybe that too was some rebellion? "I'm not taking out the trash...or burying the bodies MOM!" I hope the pie was good.
  3. Not everyone deals with things in exactly the same way, which is why the "Beth" character was such a necessary element in the show. People in the acting profession have been known to be particularly prone to emoting in public. I wasn't aware of Emily Kinney's age (I don't follow these folks outside of the show environs, and even TD is usually something I skip, because it either spoils things or fills in blanks that shouldn't be there in a quality script in the first place.), but I've witnessed older folk than 29 devastated over trivial things. Loss of income and uprooting are two things that might cause me to melt down, and I'm well over 30. To that point, there might also be a cut off age to taking everything a celebrity says in public as gospel.
  4. She did talk about how she handled it while filming, and that it was more stressful because she had had to uproot herself rather quickly upon learning the news. It's not unlike someone explaining how they had to approach an emotional scene after the illness of a loved one or some other sort of real world experience that leaks into one's acting. It was interesting in that it was real and was an actual answer to a question.
  5. The video-ins are new aren't they? I don't recall them before tonight, and they really don't speak well for us as the audience. I don't really want to be associated with them...at all. Emily was sweet, and I was working in the area when they all arrived, so I got a bit nostalgic as well! Kirkman made what I thought was an interesting point about killing off characters on the page vs. killing them off on the show, where they are represented by actual human beings. Then he rambled on about how important this would be to Maggie, and he lost me.
  6. Well, I figured from Talking Dead teasing an appearance by an unnamed guest that only one of the two women at Grady would be walking away with our group. I like Carol a tad more than Beth, so I wasn't too upset by the choice. Beth's role can be split in the future by Tara and Tyreese, whereas Carol brings a more interesting (IMO) dynamic, both demographically and in the experience that she has had on the show. I would have felt for Maggie, except that her sudden realization that she had a sister made me laugh at her breakdown, and I know that wasn't what they were aiming for. Loved Rick taking out Officer Bob at the beginning! Loved Michonne slicing through the walkers with Judith on her back! Still not convinced that Gabriel is worth the trouble. Luckily he's not a woman, so a fan base can't develop a hatred for the guy. Looking forward to the next adventure. Little Five Points isn't far from Grady. They might score some weed.
  7. If supernatural television is anything to go by, Juliette's baby will be some sort of hexengrimmvet hybrid and will hook up with Adalind's kid by sweeps of next season. YAY for no more mopey Nick! The show just was not the same without him being a Grimm!
  8. See, I was the opposite there, because I was happy she defended the choice! I live in Atlanta, and you cannot GET me to wear the amount of clothes these people are sporting, except for maybe two months out of the entire year! It is not only wickedly hot, but damp...all the time! I cringe and thank the powers that be that there is not yet smell-o-vision every time Tyreese appears! That said, they could all learn a lesson about layering.
  9. Not so strange to me. But then I've always linked sex to hygiene, and the lack of the latter would cause me to think twice about the former. Happy Birthday, Chris! BUT....streetwalking and stripping are not tghe same thing! That said, Streetwalking Dead would be an awesome spin-off! After last week's this was a bit of a let down.
  10. Exactly! The Michonne who led them into Woodbury back when she nor they trusted each other yet was what was needed. Why could Tyreese not stay with the kids? He's bonded with Judith, he and Gabriel could make s'mores and talk about unicorns and rainbows, and Carl could protect them if there was trouble. Instead, Tyreese shoots down Rick's effective plan, by proposing one with moving parts that include relying upon Dawn's sanity (questionable) and the officers' and her loyalty (dubious), and DARYL concurs! Were these people NOT around when Rick's sensible plan to kill the Termites was similarly shot down, resulting in Bob's death? I'm looking at YOU, Sasha! Also, wheere did Sasha's brain go? Hostage cop had plenty of time to put his zombie freind out of his misery (if it really exists) prior to their arrival. I kinda felt she deserved the head butt for being so gullible. Dawn's playing Beth, of course. Not really sure how, but I expect some face slapping next episode.
  11. Fair or not, guys tend to be able to work in the industry past the age that female models have trouble finding work. Women make more short term, though, so it sort fo evens out if a guy sticks with it.
  12. Leaving Cheyenne is probably the first positive step for Eva's character, and she looked terrific in her final scene! I'm assuming that their next gig will be near where Cullen is working. I hope this means we've seen the last of Campbell? I knwo it probably makes me a bad person, but I was wishing that Naomi and William might have been taken by smallpox, and that the final episodes might allow Cullen to just move on, especially since their returning to the Fort was not his doing.
  13. I went back and watched that last scene to see what I might have missed, and there's no real clue as to what went on in the house. I hope we get an answer next week. The gang thing is really the weakest of the storylines for me. It served its purpose and can be done now.
  14. Well, of course Keith was haviing trouble with the photoshoot: they wanted Elvis, and he was playing Michael Jackson! No amount of imitating Tyra was going to bridge that gap. adam's overconfidence is probably masking as many insecurities as his drinking did, which makes me root for him even more, except, as always, he iks too damn short to do anything in the modeling industry after this except underwear or sports (which, however, can be lucrative)! I see N2N in his future. Poor Shei, having to promise to keep that hair! Oh, and getting eliminated. So will there be a season twist where we find out that Lenox is transgender and it's an all-male finale?
  15. So THAT'S why Jonas has been doing all the gay media lately! I thought HE (the actor) was coming out, but that's some dedication the character and to publicity right there! I had almost forgotten the female PT! Speaking of gay, Matt Lauria's after hours training session was incredibly hot at first, until it went south. Between his physical trashing of the place and Christina's assessing earlier on I think Lisa and Alvey might have to take on those backers at some point just to keep afloat. Ryan is really an interesting character. He and Nate are really similar I think, just everything waiting to explode all the time. With Nate, it's probably partly sexuality. With Ryan it's definitely rage issues. Everything he does has an ulterior motive. Just like Christina. Maybe that's why I like Lisa so much. She doesn't hold anything back, and lets you know exactly what she's thinking. Once again, a scary scene to end the episode! I was worried as to what Jay would find, but I kind of felt that Christina and Nate, having just begun being fleshed out, were more or less safe.
  16. Corrigan! That was so much fun! I was bored with last week's, and really tuned in tonight out of habit. Glad i did.
  17. The acting tonight was so good! I still hate how we got here (Tara and the crucifix in the prison in the worst game of Clue ever was a particularly low and manipulative point), but siince this wqas doubtless endgame all along, it seemed seamless. Jax connecting the dots as to all the repurcussions that his mother's lies have led to and that he brought about through his own actions was a bit of self-awareness that I feared he had lost for good. That Gemma still thinks she's somehow not the worst person in the world is appropriate to who she is, and it was almost heartbreaking that she still thinks a future with the club is the best path for Abel's life. Jimmy Smits was indeed perfection, and, on a shallow note, reminds me that hotness need not fade with age. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out where a satisfying finale will go, and I can't quite get there, but after this episode I have a bit more faith that the show might deliver the goods.
  18. It still bugs that, with a chance to remove it from her history in a fresh start that erased almost everything else, it was the ONE thing that the publisher retained! Oh, and I noticed we both posted the age thing at the same time! LOL! (I agree, of course.)
  19. I want the final image to be Abel, in a Sons cut, riding into the sunset on his tricycle. With a Katy Sagal song playing.
  20. Older does not mean less dangerous. In very few instances does Batman go toe to toe physically with a villian (It's why Bane was created), so the years of experience should weight things in the rogues' favor. Actually, it would help to explain a particularly foolish move she makes in an Alan Moore written book.
  21. Back when Smallville had Lois move into the Kent Farm years before she would meet him in the comics, it bugged me, but this show being less a prequel than a alternative telling of the Gotham City story, I was happy enough with selina moving into the Manor. They play well together, and, of course, the characters would engage in the same cat and mouse for decades to come. Interesting that Barbara should be the two-faced character in an episode featuring the debut of Harvey Dent.
  22. Showing that the Americans placed an unstable person in charge of such an important location would have far more impact than killing Carrie. I don't see how placing Saul back into the hands of those people redeeems Carrie in any way. She comes off as reprehensible IMO for removing Saul's agency.
  23. It's probably just my own upbringing, but I hardly believe that a woman so immersed in the Bible would see what she did as "murder", rather than justice, which is what it was. I can understand not going along with a lie, which is what Cullen nobly offered at first, but she at least could have made a statement at her trial as to the very very good reasons behind having done what she did. Then, again, I haven't thought that the show handled any female characters well since they had Lily sleep with Durant, which was the first of many out of character choices.
  24. I think I actually jumped when the attack happened! It had been such a non-action episode, relying heavily upon emotion, and I was kind of whincing thinking that Ryan would be pissed off that Keith had shared information that he had no business sharing, so what ACTUALLY occurred floored me! Then even though I knew what Ryan was doing, it was difficult to watch! ITA about Christina and the pain pills! I had a "friend" pull that with a clinic visit I made last year. As a recovering addict, I didn't want any pain killers, but she was trying to get some for me in the same manner as Christina, all concerned and everything! Now I want to know what really happened to the family! That was some manipulative BS Jay pulled there with Alvey, and I can't blame him for leaving, but relationships are rarely black and white like that. I may have given Nick Jonas a hard time thus far, but he played uncomfortable this episode perfectly. Still liking Lisa quite a bit. I love that her reaction to Christina's return was "what does she want?", which indicates quite a bit already, and that she didn't take the bait with Alvey or Ryan showing jealousy, or Ryan's mother guilting her.
  25. I agree with you, BathKol, that he seems to be deliberately trying to provoke a response, but I'm not sure whether that's to get them to be more "themselves" in front of the camera, or whether to let them get a taste of what the real world might be like, or some combo dictated by TPTB. He seems a genuinely nice guy in the interactions I've had with him, and models who have worked with him have nothing but nice things to say. (of course, there may be some self-serving going on there, because people want to continue working.)
