If they changed their minds about that, it would fit my theory that if they're going to go the whole "Susan is actually good" route that they want to completely forget about everything from her first episode. But doing so would be at the expense of Thea's character, since they also continually have her bring up what a horrible person she is. Basically, it all comes down to there's no way that this reporter storyline can end in any way that makes sitting through it worth it. Especially how long it's going on.

Well, it definitely wouldn't be Oliver's idea. He's not smart enough for that this year. I do hope it has something to do with Prometheus because he needs to be involved in whatever is going on by 518. I'm kind of annoyed at how they're stretching this out this season because half the time, I think everyone (except Felicity) has forgotten he exists.

I feel like every time she's around (or not, if you're Oliver apparently and think she's a "good person" and "good reporter"), they want to act like she's the only and best reporter in the city. But then you have scenes like the press conference in 513, which remind you, "Hey, look, other reporters who are actually good at their job!" There is nothing she could do in the final episodes that another reporter couldn't unless it's to somehow hurt Oliver or someone else with the information she's found. If for some reason Oliver wants to give an exclusive about how he's GA, it doesn't have to be - and shouldn't be - to her. It can be to any reporter because all the information should be coming from him, not from whatever she dug up on him. I'm also at the point that I don't want her to be tied to Talia in any way because that means seeing more of Susan. Just no. (But since that "tattoo" was apparently just a bad makeup job/directing choice, I don't think there is going to be a connection.)
-
Yep. (Except don't mention Oliver banging Tinah. I don't even want to think about that.) I'm also annoyed because the longer she's around, the more we're likely to see Oliver being stupid. We've had enough stupid Oliver already this season to last 5 seasons. And I'm just annoyed that we keep hearing about her filming another episode when we only have Thea for 14 - and she just keeps pointing out Susan isn't a good person only for Oliver to defend her. I don't want to see that conversation repeated again and again but we'll probably get that. Then there's the fact that they've apparently wanted to do a reporter storyline since S1? I saw that on Twitter this week. And I have to wonder what the plan was then and how it changed - and why they were so determined to bring in this character when I can't see anything about her I like. There was so much potential with a reporter and they just decided to do this. Plus, there are other reporters in Star City more deserving of every story Susan could possibly write.

Is she in every episode coming up except 517? Why?!
-
Or Barry runs back in time again, only this time there are major changes to Arrow - including the return of baby Sara.
-
Yep. The only thing I could think of was if the shooter had aimed for his head - but then wouldn't that make HT sort of suicidal, to be willing to take that risk, possibly multiple times for different clients? I think they just really wanted the whole "Oliver is shot - wait, it's not Oliver, look, this is Human Target! We have Human Target on our show!"
-
I think all we have is the actor liking a tweet that he should return or something?
-
In this scenario, when would HT have replaced Oliver? And what about the scars/tattoos on Oliver in the 5x12 scene? That would be some serious commitment/one hell of a make-up job for Susan not to go, "hey, these scars aren't real?" How sad it is that the only way the Oliver we're seeing on screen in season 5 makes complete sense is if he's been replaced?
-
But that would then mean he sought her out? I guess I always assumed she hired him? It would be a big gamble to wait and hope that a reporter would hire him to get information on Oliver to make that plan work. It did cross my mind once or twice that the PI could be Prometheus - that way they could say, "see, we've shown him on-screen before the reveal!" - but I think if that ended up being the case, everyone would go, "huh? Who's that?" and they'd probably have to show flashbacks like they did with Billy when he died.
-
Yeah, I don't get Oliver at all this season. And the thing is, if he's caught? I doubt the investigation would stop with him. Everyone knows GA has a team now. So it's very possible that the others could be caught too? As accessories maybe? Unless his plan is to try to make a deal for them? It just seems like Oliver's being very careless and taking too many risks with other people's secrets on the line as well this season.
-
Especially since she's been paying a PI for information on Oliver. I'm sure she'd have no problem trying to pay off a cop or having her PI do that.
-
Maybe she's putting everything together on her computer? Maybe she's told her producer? (I still can't get over her producer just apparently sitting back and letting her give Oliver the 30-day reprieve and now having no problem with her dating him/missing out on the big story in 513?) For all we know, she could be typing up everything Oliver tells her/she finds out after every time she sees him/meets with her PI.
-
Maybe Helix tips Felicity off? And that's how others start finding out about Pandora?
-
But he's probably still going to be with Susan. I don't want Felicity to be part of cheating. I'm not expecting much from whatever "mature" or "adult" conversation they have.
-
Yeah, I just meant interviews in general have been hyping things that aren't happening onscreen.
-
This is why I have low expectations for whatever conversations are coming up between Felicity and Oliver, Diggle and Curtis. (Those were the characters mentioned in that interview, right?)

Who is in the background in this photo?

The city is attacked every May. We find nothing strange about that here. We also find nothing strange about assassins occasionally coming to the city and fighting in the streets. We also ignore all duels on rooftops, especially if it looks like Oliver Queen is involved. Our opinion about masked vigilantes changes all the time. So do the cops'. There are also occasionally corrupt cops and ... wait, they're gone? Never mind. There's usually some Big Bad that pops up every year (don't worry, he'll disappear for weeks at a time) - somehow connected to Oliver Queen and the (Green) Arrow fights him, but we have no idea why GA cares about OQ so much. Although, the Arrow was actually OQ's sister's ex-BF, but he was killed in prison because we hated vigilantes then. But we love them now and even spent a lot of money building an ugly statue for one. Then that was destroyed and now there might be another BC, even though that's written on LL's gravestone. Also, Laurel Lance was the Black Canary, but we have no idea who else might be on the team of vigilantes even though she only hung out with four other people.

She's been there a couple of weeks and got a job at SCPD. I'm sure she's figured it out already.
-
To be fair, I'm pretty sure everyone in Star City is an idiot, considering they, you know, still live there.
-
Maybe he wants his "good person/good reporter" girlfriend to get a really good story? I don't think anyone - including MG, WM and every single writer on the show - knows.
-
But why would Felicity want to be with Oliver again based on who he is right now? That's the whole problem with this storyline. I'm not saying a reunion can't happen because if the writers want it to happen, it will, but do they realize how they're writing Oliver right now? Besides, he's going to be busy being mayor and forgetting about that whole "we'll get Prometheus" business. I feel like Oliver needs Prometheus to call him up and remind him that he exists right now. "Hello, Oliver Queen? Remember me? Do I need to kill more people?" Didn't Felicity say that she'd been looking for his mother for the past 3 months*? What has Oliver been doing in that time to find Prometheus or his mother or anything related to him? Trying to redeem Black Siren, going to Hub City to recruit Tinah, "getting serious" with Susan... *Did she say 3 months? I refuse to rewatch any of 5x13 to check.
-
I can't help but wonder how Susan still has a job. Thea said that people are talking about Oliver's relationship with her, so her boss should have heard about it. Shouldn't her producer have fired her for dating the mayor she's supposed to be reporting on? Especially since she's missing the big events like the press conference after a shooting at City Hall?

No matter how this whole ACU going after GA for killing Billy ends, it's going to be a mess, in part because the show didn't care enough about Billy when he was alive to tell us anything except he was a detective and Felicity's "boyfr-[choking on the word]." Unless it's brought up by someone else, it seems like everyone's forgotten it happened. Plus, the ACU has been pretty much MIA for most of the season and now suddenly, bam, they're back. Did they really bond with Billy in the, what, 4 episodes he was part of the task force, enough so that they think that arresting GA for his murder is a great idea? It's really a question of what the ACU knows about Billy's murder. If they found out GA's arrows killed him, do they not know Billy was dressed as Prometheus? But why not? Why would they know about the arrows and not the suit? Could none of them have put together the pieces and figured out, "Hey, GA must've been tricked"? Or do they just not care?
