  1. I think it’s the root of the word steady, if that helps.
  2. Amazon has Vitamin D available, if that helps. I really don’t think Jinjer are planning their COVID prevention strategy around vitamins—or at all.
  3. I love that name! I’m a big fan of Amélie Nothomb, especially her memoirs. Amélie Catherine was the name of our fictional younger sister, on whom my twin and I would blame various unfortunate happenings. Our parents thought it was creative and hilarious, so she really did get us out of trouble a time or two. We’d be interviewed separately, and if (a) there was no proof pointing to one of us specifically and (b) both of us blamed Amélie while keeping a straight face, we’d face pretty minimal consequences. We didn’t overuse poor Amélie, since we were both pretty invested in getting the other one in trouble, so the parents never quite reached the eye-rolling stage with that excuse. Our cousins also had a fictional Amy Katherine, and I don’t really know which of us stole it from the other. The cousins were a bit older, but we were more than a bit smarter. 🙂 Er. I also really love the name Hope, but I don’t mind if Jinje and Jer use it. (We could all use some, these days.) If they do go with another virtue name, they’re kind of committing to the theme, IMO. Their first son, of course, will be named Christian.
  4. That did not bring me joy or peace. It did bring me a little vomit in the mouth, though.
  5. The Correct Jesus obviously had blond hair and blue eyes, and if he wore a beard it was only because shaving hadn’t been invented yet. And he wore leggings under his robes, of course. 😉
  6. It is a county-by-county thing in my state. My county hasn’t given them out in years, for budget reasons, but I know some counties do.
  7. To be fair, I think we all are these days. But he has certainly passed his peak.
  8. I do believe JB will work on repairing the relationship. First, because I believe he loves his kids and second because its what is best for his family and his brand. In Josh's thread we are discussing some what ifs in regard to why he is who he is. I think the same discussion could be had with JB. What would he look like if they hadn't started following Gothard? My thoughts are he'd look very different. I don't think JB is the narcissist others do. I think he is insecure I don’t see it happening unless Jill and Derrick crash completely on their own, or there’s a monetary advantage to JB for the reconciliation. I would also like to say that narcissists are deeply insecure. I’m not sure everyone understands that. In fact I think the disorder is rooted in insecurity. I could go on about this for a while, but it’s probably better for everyone if I refrain.
  9. I have a fever and I have to get a COVID test tomorrow. I’ve barely left the house since March. I join you, and I’m not sorry either.
  10. I haven’t seen anything in the Gothard propaganda that suggests boys were specifically taught to protect their younger sisters. The sisters were there to wait on him, and they were responsible for protecting him from his manly lustful nature 🤢. It was certainly clear that Jim Bob did not give a shit about protecting his daughters, when the scandal broke.
  11. I can’t either, but I know when I had only one child pretty much everyone in the world felt entitled to comment on it, and to tell me I’d be fine having another (I would not have been fine). Then we acquired four other kids more or less by accident, and no one was happy with that, either. There’s no pleasing the kind of people who want to judge people’s family size and composition. If I were Amy, I’d be deeply irritated by this.
  12. Ivy’s features seem to be coming together. She may yet be a very pretty girl. Too bad about the giant feet and cankles, but there are worse things. Hopefully someone will point her in the direction of stylish boots in the future.
  13. It hasn’t been kind to anyone, as far as I know.
