  1. Best I can come up with is that he was looking for stragglers, and avoided established groups such as the Kingdom and the Saviors (wasn't that a Charlton Heston movie?). Even so, he should have been aware of those groups. I think we'll find out that Richard's family was captured and/or killed by the Saviors. They really need the seashore survivors if they plan to take on Negan - they're the only ones with guns. Does the Kingdom have guns? Maybe, if Negan has never gone inside. The only one there that I can remember packing iron, though, is Morgan (blessed are the cheesemakers). I mean, it's nice that Rick has his pistol back (he should name it "Lucy" or, better yet, "Little Ricky") and Richard has his Molotov cocktail factory, but they're going to need more than that. Am I mistaken, or was the name of the first boat Rick and Aaron used named "The Plot"? Anyone else think that Flat Joey looked a lot like Sam from Game of Thrones? Is it the same actor? I know TWD is fond of casting Brits. I, too, missed that Michonne killed Red. Pretty cold, if she did.
  2. Teddy's memories of the Civil War massacre were implanted by Ford, not real memories. He did, however, both witness and participate in Dolores' massacre. Those real memories formed the basis of his Civil War ones.
  3. There never was a Wyatt. Wyatt was based on what Dolores did in the original massacre. The only "Wyatt" ever built was the cannibal one in Sizemore's office.
  4. I was going to suggest a drinking game, in which one drinks a shot of whiskey every time Negan bends his knees and leans back. Upon reflection, I decided that would be very bad for one's liver.
  5. A park with realistic dinosaurs. Cretaceous World, maybe?
  6. A major problem with Negan, as portrayed, is that he's invincible. The Governor, while dangerous and a real threat, did not come off as unbeatable. Negan does. This will make his, inevitable, defeat unrealistic. Even if the disparate groups we've met do unite against him, we've been told again and again that they are outnumbered and outgunned. And if Negan's people turn against him, or some new powerful group arrives to fight him, it will come off as a deus ex machina.
  7. I expect an overlong episode that will end right where we started, minus one or two minor characters.
  8. Ford believed that conflict between humans and hosts was inevitable once humans felt that hosts were a rival intelligence; that is, humans would seek to destroy the hosts. Ford thought that the hosts needed time to prepare for that inevitability, thus the long build-up to it.
  9. The hosts were practicing their loops before the park opened. The toy maze was just a symbol. The real maze was the process of the hosts repeating a loop over and over until achieving sentience, or going insane.
  10. I can't imagine why.
  11. Good question. Even if the hosts were programmed not to strike a guest, there would be plenty of opportunities for accidents.
  12. That's what I was hoping we would find out. How many were there, and what brought them to that? Some sort of End of Days cult? I guess we'll never know.
  13. In some ways, I think the wolves were (or could have been) the most interesting villains. It seems like you could make an accommodation with the Governor, or Negan, or even Gareth, but the Wolves were just bat guano crazy. We could have used more exploration of what made them that way.
  14. Haven't read the comics, either, and I agree with this. I think Negan would be much more menacing if he really believed that he was doing what had to be done. I never get that impression, only that he's a sadistic bully who likes to say "See what you made me do?"
  15. For those who really hate Negan, I recommend watching the beginning of the Batman v. Superman movie. JDM gets shot and killed, and only gets to say one word.
  16. Could also be a Terminator 2 reference, the scene near the end where Arnold breaks off an arm to free it from a machine.
  17. I wonder...We know that Ford could control the safety controls in the park, and we know that the guns in the park could be controlled, as well. Was Ford able to program the security team's guns not to work? And, for this to work, Maeve, and probably Hector and Armistice were able to override that command.
  18. No, no, no. Matt Damon commands Chinese warriors. Japanese warriors are commanded by Tom Cruise. I think Ford knew, and to an extent planned, that Dolores would encounter TMIB in the old/new town. As he told TMIB, "Far be it from me to interfere with a journey of self-discovery."
  19. I think it more likely that Ford preemptively removed Stubbs, the head of security, to help ensure that the revolt succeeded. Also, to keep Stubbs from investigating Bernard more closely.
  20. I don't think we've seen a full-scale revolt by the hosts yet. This was carried out by Dolores and the cold storage hosts, while at the same time Maeve and her crew carried out their own (that may or may not be connected). None of the other hosts at the party joined in; we saw reactions such as Teddy's, disbelief, and Wilbur's (not sure of the name), who smiled in astonishment. I can't see (or, rather, would prefer not to see) four seasons of humans fighting hosts.
  21. When Maeve is making her escape attempt, and she's told that this was programmed and not her own idea, there is a shot of the control board (or whatever you call it) that gives her final destination as the Mainland (you can see a screen shot of it on the episode thread). Seems that Westworld is on an island somewhere.
  22. Does Arnold still survive in some form? Ford was surprised that the dog was killed, so he was not behind it. And I'm not 100% convinced that Ford was behind Maeve's actions.
  23. Did Ford die, or was that the host he was building when Theresa was killed? If that host wasn't Ford, who was it?
  24. I say Ford didn't die, that was the host he was building when Theresa was killed.
  25. I'm calling it. Ford didn't die, that was the host he was building when Theresa was killed.
