OG Iron Chef America Returns TONIGHT, MAY 20TH

Just got the chance to watch last nights show. I felt the outcome was a bit surprising after listening to the judges' comments. They seemed to really love Wolen's dishes and dinged GZ dishes. Sad that we can't taste the food and all we have is our eyes and ears to form an opinion. I enjoyed this episode since the product was clams. I have just started eating clams so I got an education on preparation. -

The promos were so bad and over the top that I made the choice to not watch it. I decided to read the forum to see if it would be worth the effort to watch. Seems I made the right decision. -
At least this time just one chef did the Martha gushing. How many more episode are we going to be forced to watch her?

Now that was a good one. Loved Alex getting pissed at her sous chefs. Things really didn't go well for her. Burning her Lamb in the pressure cookers was a new one. what is with the judges getting involved with the chefs? They are there to judge not interfere. Sue and Waxman know better than that. -
Loved this series, sorry to see it end. It was thought provoking and get had its fun moments. Took me a bit to get in the groove but after that it was a fun ride.

Guess that is the reason that for the past episodes the chefs and mystery ingredients have had an Asian leaning.

Is it GZ aim to get the judges drunk while they taste his food? Last night he made TWO cocktails instead of hi usual one. I know a drink is good with a meal but alcohol can affect the taste buds. Sort of does a dishonor to the competition if they serve after his serving.I know that may seem petty but I feel the judges need to be a bit clear headed and be fair to both chefs. I have never eaten artichokes so I couldn't really get a feel for the dishes. Most looked OK but nothing seemed to impress me. The baklava GZ made was the one dish that looked good. -
I am sorry but I don't really like this show. I watch it because I am waiting for this family to go down. The show glorifies crime, theft, murder, lying, cheating, you name it they do it. These characters need not be made role models for anyone. I could care less if any of them is killed. They earned it. Kids watch this and think that their lives of easy money is what they want. The last show where they left a senior citizen on a bench in the middle of nowhere did it for me. I won't be watching anymore.

Watching Stephanie work is great and that was a close win since she was 2 points behind because of the first dish judging. I notice that NO ONE commented on the show from the week before where Alex was competing. Her win was rather blah. I don't know which person I am more sick of seeing; Martha or Alex. -
Totally agree. I am already sick of seeing her face in every new episode. Didn't once upon a time rotate judges?? Guess we are stuck with her until TFN decides otherwise.

Nice article concerning Alton adopting a very much abused pup. http://www.atlantamagazine.com/news-culture-articles/scabs-riches-tale-alton-brown-rescue-dog-scabigail/ -

No comments yet on Sunday 's show? It was a bit underwhelming. I personally am not a fan of Marc F. He covers a piece of tuna with pastry and roasts it. Wow, lots of effort there. Not fond of having just two judges. The judging would be fairer with more input. The best show so far is the one from the week before when big head GZ got his butt beat. -
The Colony has grown on me. The episodes have gotten better or I guess I should say the writing has gotten better.

Both WD shows really stretch the events. I want to know where is this huge gas station where they get their gas/diesel? All people seem to be able to tool around the countryside with no regard to gas usage. The same goes for ammo. None of them shot worth a c*** and bullets go flying around with no restraint. At least in TWD, there was Eugene with his bullet making factory. There is nothing like that in FTWD. Amazing the amount of ammo they waste. They couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at five yards. -

Just watched last night's show. WOW GZ got his butt beat real bad even though he had a two point lead from the first dish. -
To be honest I don't mind Martha. Hope she takes Alex's place. That is o me judge I can't stand.

I had to DVR the Sunday night show, finally got to see it this morning. I admit that I love Stephanie as an Iron Chef. Her food looked GREAT and she was composed. I certainly like her much more than Alex. Alex is one Iron Chef I wish would disappear. I tend to avoid her when she is a judge on Chopped by using mute or fast forward. I DVR Chopped since I am in bed at the time it is telecast. Right now, there are too many Iron Chefs. Which chefs are functional competing chefs? Who are gone? -
Well, that sure was a snoozefest at its best. Even my husband who I have to force to watch got totally bored. He wanted to change channels. I admit, this was the sleep aid I needed for bedtime.

I remember the actor who plays Diaz from 12 Monkeys. He played a so so character there. Hope he goes out with a whimper.

Chopped Canada had a great bright set. I haven't seen it lately on the other food network channel. I do wish they would freshen up the kitchen, way too dark and dreary.
