  1. I would have had a hard time being a judge of those. I don't particularly care for unbaked cheesecake, and I can't imagine combining it with gelatin topping. Who thinks up these combos?
  2. I know people seem to love to say 'I want to make it a true daily double' or something like that, but I would never do that. I'm not a good gambler, and would always want to have something even as small as $100 so that I could participate in the final clue. Also I would probably need $$ for a ride to the airport.
  3. The mother did say that the son was still in high school, but he looked to me like he was probably a senior.
  4. I agree. Do away with all of the other advantages like picking the flavor, extra 10 minutes, and make the first class station the standing advantage.
  5. When a contestant begins explaining what they elaborate plan they have, and then begin running out of time, I start yelling at the TV - 'didn't you practice this at home with a timer before you arrived?' Yeah, I know they can't hear me, but very often those elaborate decorating plans don't happen. They end up looking like those failed Easter lamb cakes on Pinterest. Yes, the correct person went home.
  6. I knew the pink Cadillac, but I was speechless when no one recognized the beautiful Ford Thunderbird, and then Allison called it a Corvette - ugh. I am sooooooo old.
  7. Yes, I was wondering if Jennifer was stunned by being on TV and just couldn't remember anything, so she tossed out weird answers. Rewatching that with her family and friends is going to be interesting. As for Isabella, I don't understand a contestant risking all of their $$ on a DD when the amount they have is pretty substantial. Do they get all caught up in the moment and just want to say 'true Daily Double' which many times is a jinx as in Isabella's case. She sure lost her momentum after that. Personally, I would want to take home a little $$ just to cover my plane fare and a couple of souvenirs, but I'm not a gambler.
  8. Not only was the kitchen very warm, their prep and cooking areas are within inches of each other. That's so different than other baking shows where each contestant has some more space from which to work. The contestant who put mayo in her cake should have stayed mum about her 'secret' ingredient. Yes, it really is just oil and eggs, and you can't taste a mayo flavor when it's baked into something.
  9. I've noticed that too. It's like he's trying to turn it into a version of Wii Jeopardy. Over the years there have been a lot of interesting buzzer physical techniques by contestants. Would be a fun clip to put together a lot of them to watch. Body English doesn't usually win over the stealth buzzer skills.
  10. After reading all of the posts about when certain characters previously appeared, I think I need to rewatch all of the episodes. There's too much time between new seasons to remember everyone - lol.
  11. I just watched the Naperville episode. The wife kept saying bathrooms and kitchens needed to be updated in houses where I thought they looked fine and pretty up to date. Does she realize that if she updates now, in 2 years there will be something new and shiny on the market? She was such a negative person. Did she say what she did in her work life? I bet the in-laws were glad when she & her hubby moved out. He said he would spend 90% of his time in the basement, and I wouldn't blame him if it keeps him from the negativity of the wife. Also can't believe she would have wanted to paint over that pretty natural woodwork in one of the houses. And, last, I bet the city employees are still laughing at her request to bury the power lines.
  12. I know of one couple who got divorced because the wife ran off with the contractor hired to remodel the kitchen.
  13. I really wanted the guy in the middle (can't remember his name now) to win. I'm so over the slow to answer/pick the category current champ. Can't believe he didn't know big kahuna. The poor woman on the other end never even left the starting gate, but on the few times she buzzed in, at least she didn't take forever to answer or pick a clue.
  14. Maybe they have a lot of throws on the furniture. I kind of wondered about that too. I thought the entire episode was both funny and a bit cringe worthy for me. Also, I'm assuming they don't walk around naked 24/7. At one of the scenes at the end, they were at a gathering and a lot of people were wearing clothes. I guess I'm just not cut out to be a nudist.
  15. Last night 2 HH episodes aired that were hosted by HGTV house renovation "stars". Since I've never watched their shows, I had no idea who they were. First episode featured a couple looking for a house in Snohomish, Washington. They had a budget if $500,000ish. First they saw what they called a townhouse, but it was the bottom floor of what I would call a condo complex. It was small, and the development had an HOA of $600a month!!! The 2nd place was a single family house that needed some work, and it was very small as well. The 3rd house looked like a double manufactured house to me, but that was never mentioned. It was what they called turn key. They bought the townhouse with the high HOA. One of the women stars had a voice that would cut glass - IMO. I don't think I could have filmed that show with both of those women yapping full speed all the time. The 2nd episode was in St. Petersburg, FL and featured a couple looking for old with projects, vs new. The hosts didn't bug me too much, and I like the 2 men. They ended up with the largest existing house, and had plans to do some projects. One of the things that I noticed was that the blue bedroom carpet that they said would have to be immediately replace, was still in the room with their furniture at the reveal. It looked like it needed a good cleaning when they first toured the house. Maybe my glasses needed cleaning instead. No way would I have moved into that house with that carpet.
  16. I enjoyed this episode, and maybe Alden and Clara will become an item.
  17. The Idaho buying sister should listen to her mortgage broker sister more often when it comes to spending money. The mortgage sister (cannot remember her name) had some good advice about buying a house when it came to the amount a person qualifies to buy, and what they can actually afford, as well as things that can be upgraded later after the buyer has lived in the house for a while. The realtor friend also chimed in a couple of times about what could be delayed in changing. I wasn't too impressed with the size of the houses and the high prices, and Boise has become very expensive evidently.
  18. I'm not a fan of Alison because of her tactic of buzzing in w/o knowing the answer. She reminds me of the child who always has their hand up in class, waving it around, and saying I know, I know, I know. I also am over her opening performance of head shaking and disbelief when she is introduced daily. I have also been surprised by some of the TS's. Maybe, as someone said previously, there needs to be more older contestants on the show - lol.
  19. I figured the woman in the middle (can't even remember her name now) was just trying to cover her air fare for the trip with her final wager, and had no chance of returning to play another game. Yes, poor Lucas and his long wait to return ends with a zero $$ tie.
  20. I didn't understand Andrew's wager in FJ. He could have wagered more and won more to come in 2nd. I wouldn't be a good contestant because of the math involved in wagering.
  21. Has Romy ever given an interview or said anything about his departure from the show?
  22. He wore it, or one similar to it in his previous appearance. He said it was made by his nieces.
  23. I just checked my DVR and even though I have the HH Where Are They Now set to record whenever it appears, it did not pick up this showing. When I looked at the time slot it does say House Hunters: Where Are They Now, but the title of the particular episode is "Are They Still Together" so the DVR may have thought that was the name. I had to manually set the DVR to record this. Can't wait to see which HH's they feature.
  24. I liked seeing the prom pictures of Duff and Nancy when they were younger. By the end of the show, I was liking Nancy with the brown hair. That blue eye shadow was totally from her high school days style. As for the cakes - meh. I've never heard of tsunami cakes. Actually, when my mom would make chocolate fudge frosting for her cakes, every once in a while it wouldn't set, and would be runny. Instead of apologizing for the frosting not setting, she could have dubbed it a tsunami cake. We loved it anyway, and I remember eating it with a spoon sometimes.
  25. I wasn't watching Jeopardy daily 18 years ago, so I don't remember Victoria. She seems to have kept her buzzer and knowledge skills sharp. Ben, on the other hand, looked a bit lost to me for almost the entire game. I don't remember if he or Ken said how long it had been since Ben had first appeared on Jeopardy. I felt sorry for him staying on the minus side for first half of the show.
