  1. I figured the woman in the middle (can't even remember her name now) was just trying to cover her air fare for the trip with her final wager, and had no chance of returning to play another game. Yes, poor Lucas and his long wait to return ends with a zero $$ tie.
  2. I didn't understand Andrew's wager in FJ. He could have wagered more and won more to come in 2nd. I wouldn't be a good contestant because of the math involved in wagering.
  3. Has Romy ever given an interview or said anything about his departure from the show?
  4. He wore it, or one similar to it in his previous appearance. He said it was made by his nieces.
  5. I just checked my DVR and even though I have the HH Where Are They Now set to record whenever it appears, it did not pick up this showing. When I looked at the time slot it does say House Hunters: Where Are They Now, but the title of the particular episode is "Are They Still Together" so the DVR may have thought that was the name. I had to manually set the DVR to record this. Can't wait to see which HH's they feature.
  6. I liked seeing the prom pictures of Duff and Nancy when they were younger. By the end of the show, I was liking Nancy with the brown hair. That blue eye shadow was totally from her high school days style. As for the cakes - meh. I've never heard of tsunami cakes. Actually, when my mom would make chocolate fudge frosting for her cakes, every once in a while it wouldn't set, and would be runny. Instead of apologizing for the frosting not setting, she could have dubbed it a tsunami cake. We loved it anyway, and I remember eating it with a spoon sometimes.
  7. I wasn't watching Jeopardy daily 18 years ago, so I don't remember Victoria. She seems to have kept her buzzer and knowledge skills sharp. Ben, on the other hand, looked a bit lost to me for almost the entire game. I don't remember if he or Ken said how long it had been since Ben had first appeared on Jeopardy. I felt sorry for him staying on the minus side for first half of the show.
  8. Maybe the Costa Rica couple are back in the states, and that was just like a "gap year" for them from their life in California. I haven't seen the episode, and might just erase it because it sounds like one that I wouldn't be interested in watching.
  9. I always cringe a bit when one of the bakers brags about how great their skills are at a particular thing. Last week the baker who bragged a bit about his experience with replicating bubbles had trouble with them. Under ideal circumstances they might execute their skills perfectly, but under a time constraint, and under studio lights among other unfamiliar circumstances, perhaps not bragging about being able to do something would be a good idea.
  10. I don 't remember Mackenzie from her previous appearance. When they introduced her all I could focus on was what a fabulous collar was on her jacket, and then I realized it is her hair. I think she might win the Jeopardy prize for best hair ever. I also thought, as the game went on, that she was just taking wild guesses, and was there more to have fun than to win money. I am glad that she had some $$ left to play FJ, if her intent was to fully enjoy the experience.
  11. I hope the actor who plays Knight's dad is brought back for many more episodes because he is very easy on the eyes. Was not familiar with him, but his bio says he's an expert in martial arts and does many of his own stunts.
  12. The Detroit couple episode last night - I'm on the wife's side about the stairs if for no other reason than she has knee pain. The husband was obsessed with having front steps for Trick or Treaters to use, and stairs inside for Christmas morning. Those are only 2 days of the year. Sounded like the people who want a staircase as a prop for prom pictures. Also, I want to point out that laundry chutes work in one direction only - down - as opposed to the statement that either he or the realtor said about how handy it would be for taking laundry up and down from the basement. I would have chosen the ranch because it was larger. The one they chose ha very small bedrooms, and I think the square footage was only about 1,300 sf (not including the basement). Yes, 4 bedrooms in a 1,300 sf house are going to be small.
  13. The realtor in the SJDC Mexico episode sounds like a parody of a character with vocal fry, up speak, and valley girl voice. I couldn't be a client of hers just on her voice alone. I wonder if she's a genuine realtor, or some tourist they picked up on the beach for this gig? I really didn't care which place the couple chose, but he really emphasized their being together all the time when he described their life there.
  14. CBS Sunday Morning had a segment with Ken Jennings this morning (3/17/24). He told the interviewer about how he came to love the show, and his preparation for his first appearance on the show.
  15. Last night's episode about a couple looking for a large house in Virginia had me scratching my head with their choice. The wife wanted the house of her dreams - very large, 2 stories with 2 staircases in the entrance foyer, grand, etc. The husband wanted a one story because the wife had recently recovered from Guillain-barre' syndrome, and during that time had been paralyzed from the waist down. He wanted a one story house. because she could become ill again, but she was having none of that. He was also more budget conscious because he worried that she could lose her job if she got sick again, and that he also could be laid off from his IT job in the future for some reason. Not her - she was determined to spend the max to get what she wanted. Big surprise, they bought the most expensive 2 story house, and it had 2 stair cases, although both were not in the entrance foyer. I did think that if she experienced paralysis again, or had a lot of difficulty walking, they could probably remove the 2nd stairway and install an elevator because the primary bedroom was on the 2nd floor. She mentioned that insurance would take care of some modifications for her disability. They must have good insurance. I tell myself that my house isn't my dream house either, but the roof doesn't leak, and I can afford to pay the utility bill, and the mortgage without worrying about losing my job (retired), so I'm good. I hope they both stay employed, and she doesn't have a recurrence of guillain-barre.
  16. Who won today? My TV & internet has been out since last night when a large tree fell onto the utility pole. AT&T just finished the repairs and it's 3 hours past show time.
  17. if they would announce the twist at the beginning of the bake instead of when 99% of the contestants already have their bakes out of the oven, then incorporating it could be a lot easier. When one of the judges said the crushed almonds on one bake looked like an after thought, I was thinking that it was given after that person's cake was out of the oven and on the plate. Leave the twist stuff out. It doesn't add anything to the bake, and sometimes makes it worse with whatever flavor or texture is the twist.
  18. I noticed that Troy is sort of a come from behind contestant in his games. He needs to be aggressive from the beginning if he is going to beat Yogesh because the minute Yogesh answers his first question, he's a buzz saw. There was a category that he didn't seem to know in his last game. Was is popular music or something like that? I'm rooting for Troy, so I guess I just jinxed him.
  19. This has absolutely nothing to do with the contestants today, but I just want to say that Ken looked great in the dark brown suit today. He should wear that color more often. I wasn't rooting for today's winner, so that's all I've got.
  20. This has nothing to do with the episode. How do I UNfollow this particular NCIS. I want to follow the original, not this one. I have looked in several places for instructions to unfollow NCIS Hawaii. Anyone have a clue?
  21. It wasn't just Nancy's hair, but the eye makeup as well. It looked like she was wearing those spider lashes that are so popular now, and the eyeliner was very black in contrast to her white hair. Also, the blue eye shadow looked garish next to the black. When you are older, it is advised that you tone down the makeup a bit. Yes, it's a TV show, but a little bit of all of that would go a long way.
  22. Someone on the production crew needs to tell Brian to tone down the celebratory movements when he wins. I noticed that the man to his left was just staring at him as Brian was fist pumping and yelling. I'm not a fan of that type of winner in such a setting.
  23. I agree, but I think both Emily and Yogesh are faster on the buzzer. I do wonder if Emily smiles that that all of the time. After a while, it's a bit eerie.
  24. The episode last night was one of the cabin episodes. Couple wanting a cabin on waterfront property in Maine. The one they chose was only 800 sf, but had 4 bedrooms! When I saw those stats I knew the bedrooms would be the size of a walk in closet and I wasn't far off. Actually the house had NO closets. It was a new build, and I am betting it was built as a vacation rental, and closets weren't a priority because people wouldn't be needing to bring a lot of clothes for a short stay. One of the women owns a construction company, and said she was planning to add a carport/garage and storage. They maxed out their budget, so I guess building the storage area w/garage will be cheaper for someone who has a construction company.
  25. Loved the new episode of Vera. As always, the case consisted of many interwoven twists and turns. This is a series that will be on my rewatch list in the future. I've watched Morse, Midsommer Murders, and Lewis twice so far.
