I get why they have to do it, but it is so damn fake.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

I imagine so. I developed an interest in sourdough bread and googled some stuff. Now FB feeds me not only sourdough stuff but everything "prepper" in nature (canning, living off grid, etc etc), none of which I have any interest in. It's kind of fascinating culturally though, so my clicking on stuff just makes it worse. Sigh. -
I could have sworn I saw he had a restaurant in Chicago. My bad.

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion

I guess I'm an outlier because I thought Nikki's was a lot more creative that Alex's. I loved the idea of a pavlova. And his accent doesn't particularly impress me (duck). I think Steven is going to get the advantage. Definitely not Nikki.- 3.2k replies

Yeah, my husband and I are in the "golden bachelor" demographic and we have reached the point where we just roll our eyes at the stupid stuff people are willing to do.- 2.6k replies

He was the guy who used 30 ingredients when 12 would have sufficed?

I think Twitter et. al. know exactly who we are by cross-referencing whatever else: FB, google, probably what you watch on TV. They know you are female, your approximate income, and likely how much you weigh LOL. -
I made that for dinner a few weeks ago. Yum! Thanks for all your comments.

Please know that people who watched The Bear (me included) did not understand "Chaos Cuisine" any better than anyone else. The term was a single mention in a two season series, and was not explained at the time. It was clearly some chefy shorthand between the two main characters. People are only mentioning the show because it explains who the guest judge was, and why the contestants knew who he was (besides him being a Chicago chef).

The description of chaos cuisine just above in HuffPo sounds like "creative home cook with leftovers" but somehow I don't think that's what Carmy and Sydney in The Bear were talking about, as a restaurant does more than "look in the fridge." But I confess, I still don't really understand. It sounds like fusion but fusion is so 80s so you can't call it that.....

If you have a half can left, what else are you going to do? (I know these ads are for stuff that you buy refrigerated and keep refrigerated) -
This is a bit more about El Ideas

yeah who were they? I gathered that the blond (?) guy had a restaurant? Maybe where they were eating? And maybe that he does "chaos food" whatever that is? Who was the woman? I see someone found a chyron of her name. I gather she is some sort of food journalist. I imagine this showing won't add much to her following LOL.

It's funny, Danny got a significant talking head in this episode and my first thought was "who the hell is that?" I know he's had "some moments" so far, but his face was a complete forget for me. And I agree, Savannah and Laura get mixed up in my head. I guess I'm gonna root for Soo LOL.
-
That is ABSOLUTELY the impression I got. So fine, don't meet the challenge, but make something tasty, you're not going to get offed. But to actually WIN? I seriously don't get it. I think Dan should have won. They loved it, and it was seriously chaotic.
-
she seemed very smug this episode. like "chaos is exactly what I do." Doesn't make me want to go to her restaurant.
-
I think that pronunciation is a hanging offense, personally :) Dan's pudding looked like poop on a plate seriously! Plus it seemed like she more or less reproduced something from her restaurant, which seems the opposite of what this challenge was about. Presumably the judges didn't know that. Savanah's potato balls were seriously cool! If I liked to deep fry (I don't) I'd love to give that a try. Can ANYONE explain to me what was chaotic about the winning dish? It was gorgeous. Tom comparing it to a duck meant absolutely nothing to me. Yeah, "The Bear." Awesome show.

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion

Sure, I assume they knew. It just seemed weird. Like, I get that they have to twist themselves in knots to call Oreos "sandwich cookies" and on other cooking shows call Spam "canned ham," but I had no idea you couldn't call Coachella "Coachella." It's not like they were selling tickets. -

So were they talking about Coachella without using the name? Why? Is that a trademark infringement or something? -

just another in a whole category of things for people (not me) to obsess over, so that a product can be sold. Smelly butt cracks, those LINES in my forehead when I smile, whether the whites of my eyes are WHITE enough. Shesh. -

Why is Lady Gaga now pretending to be a fashion photographer? https://www.fiercepharma.com/marketing/lady-gaga-goes-behind-camera-next-chapter-nurtec-odt-campaign-pfizer#:~:text=According to an Instagram post, their own joint Instagram feed. I knew she had done another ad where she was doing her real job, so for awhile I wondered if I was just confused and they were using a photographer who looked an awful lot like Lady Gaga. -
I think it's more that some of us think that Tom *might* have a thumb on the scale for Soo because of the DRAMA that would result from him entering-- SURPRISE! Soo has certainly shown he's worthy, so I think that concern has melted away to a large degree.

honestly, katsu is similar to any number of pounded, breaded, and fried cutlets. Think Milanese (which has the addition of lemon). It's not really anything revolutionary.

I am not a divorce lawyer, but would a prenup be necessary for a 3 month marriage? I find it hard to believe he gets alimony. And it's pretty easy to determine what assets each person had prior to the wedding.
