  1. You have shown remarkable patience! I no longer "want" to watch, but I'm limping along to the finish. All the characters are awful now, the writing is terrible, and the acting is stilted.
  2. Yes, but Laura Dern is in this show . . .. with her own father . Many nepo babies actually have deserved their success, I think.
  3. Weighing in late here, but Subaru is a great brand and also a little peculiar. They last forever. We are still driving a 2006 Outback LL Bean edition (higher end trim), so we have power front seats. But it's crazy to learn that the passenger front seat no longer has power. Also our car is too old for Bluetooth, and you can't swap out Subaru radios in the aftermarket because they link their radios to the air conditioning unit. So we have one of those plug ins that goes into the cigarette lighter and lets us play our phone over the radio system. I have to say I would not buy any car now without the power seat for the driver. I shift myself around all the time while driving to extend crampy legs or move them back.
  4. I too thought the whale was going to save Maxine.
  5. https://www.vulture.com/article/palm-royale-recap-episode-8-maxine-saves-the-whale.html I commend to you all this vulture recap, which sets forth the incomprehensible goings on. I had forgotten a few plot twists.
  6. I don't understand why Carol Burnett is trying to kill Maxine, TBH. There is too much back story missing. And why did Carol reject Rosenhips? They didn't show us. Are we supposed to think that Doug cares for Maxine? He doesn't really seem to like her.
  7. @Charlie Baker did you go to Eddie’s web site where he recounts an appearance by Larry Tierny at a repertory showing of the film? He mentioned it in the comments. Check it out if you dare. He gave trigger warnings.
  8. I liked the episode, but come on, they are down to the wire on the execution--don't you think even the most hardline governor would have granted a stay while they tracked down the crazy murderer who was suddenly running around the country? But no problem, time will stretch out so in less than one minute they can find the missing DNA and test it. Also, they should have at least paused the execution because they weren't carrying it out properly. It's a good way to make an anti death penalty argument on TV, but it was ridiculous. They never made the connection of the amputee fetish out loud to the group. Only for us viewers. At least Remy got to hook up with the hot lawyer.
  9. I called surrogate as soon as they found the delivery boy. Law and Order keeps having surrogate plots too. Too many foot chases. I thought the infiltration of the compound was handled poorly. Too few agents and poorly equipped.
  10. Fibrosis, the disease that strikes 7 people.
  11. I liked the musical number. No surprise Adele did not get into Juilliard with the same mediocre street dancing they showed a couple of weeks ago. I don’t think that he would have even gotten to the live audition phase.
  12. My current wives seek out potentials. Translation they’re my pimps.
  13. Yes she was a fool. Divorced with no property settlement Oh more browbeating sessions.
  14. This question has been the subject of much speculation.
  15. Geez are they paying them a fuckton of money for him to cry on tv like this?
  16. Another friend convo where the friend pretends not to be shocked.
  17. Yes can’t believe the barber is poly. Did they find him at central casting.
  18. Absolutely use the disposable gloves. I learned it in a cooking class. (Facepalm emoji.). I use a white vinyl board and it doesn’t stain permanently. I can use a little comet if necessary. I chop raw beets for my favorite borscht recipe.
  19. Mia Katigbak! I went to college with her! We were good friends for the first couple of years but we drifted apart. She was a music major. Those of us with last names beginning in K were put together during freshman orientation.
  20. I've just recalled that my high school had early color-blind casting. A young Black woman played Adelaide. This was a NYC high school with a big mix of races and ethnic groups.
  21. Thanks for all these thoughts on musicals. You all have much greater knowledge of the stage musicals than I do. @RinaldoI'm not sure of what you're referencing regarding high school performances of Guys and Dolls, because my high school's performance took place in 1971 LOL. I was lucky enough to see the original off-Broadway performance of Grease in 1972.
