  1. I guess no one likes the guests. I think they're OK. The ones on this episode and the week before have a really funny podcast called Are You My Podcast. They recap MAFS and do shows on other subjects, and they crack me up. I think I might check out the Bald and the Beautiful podcast too.
  2. I hadn’t heard this, but it certainly would explain why they’re both acting the way they are, each pushing for the other to throw in the towel first. It still doesn’t excuse Alyssa’s behavior.
  3. True! I’ve always thought of garbage collectors (and probably municipal wastewater operators) as civilization’s unsung hero’s.
  4. Cameos are little personalized videos that stars can make. A friend could request that Luann send a Cameo wishing you a happy birthday or congratulating you on your promotion or something. Your friend would pay Cameo $125, and Luann would pocket maybe half of that. If she were doing 30 per day over a year she’d picked over half a million dollars. That’s why they were impressed.
  5. I don’t know why Gil didn’t just paint spots on his dog and take her to work so he could walk her himself.
  6. When you point it out it does sound chilling, but it’s hard for me to get bothered by it because 1) Lana doesn’t exist and 2) I suspect that David is just acting and his whole story line is fake. I can’t believe anyone is really that gullible. If only all real stalkers could be so obsessed with non-existent people it would be a better world.
  7. Thank you. At about the 29-minute mark of the video I posted he says he never got the answer.
  8. I listened to an interview of Ed, and he said that it would be a good idea to ask if Rose knew about her sister requesting money during the tell all. Here’s a link: I thought it might be an accidental spoiler, since why would he need to wait until the tell-all to bring it up if he and Rose were still together? Any thoughts?
  9. This is why I always thought that Old Dirty Bastard was so wise. Unfortunately, he died at 35, so there’s no guarantee that you’ll grow into, or outgrow, your stage name.
  10. Thank you! Wow, I think there’s probably a big bonus for the creative editor who put those sentence fragments together on film. I’m going to assume that your gerontology skills are right up there with your stenography skills and take your word that I’m not senile. 🙂
  11. Great points, @sometimesjennifer! Regarding Mindy, I tried to rewind to the preview of what was to come after the commercial break after viewing Mindy and Zach, but my TV didn’t let me go back that far. But here is a quote from last week’s transcript of the coming attractions by stenographer extraordinaire and possible direct descendent of Abraham Zapruder @gingerandcloves: Mindy: "I feel like deciding to separate from Zach was not good for me." Dr. V looks lost for words; Pastor Cal is frowning. Mindy: "You have it in you to be a good husband." A smile from Zach. Pastor Cal looks like his head is going to explode. Huge smile fromMindy. I don’t remember Mindy saying that deciding to separate from Zach wasn’t good for her. Did she say it? Were words from multiple sentences spliced together? Am I becoming senile? Inquiring minds want to know.
  12. I agree! It’s the only party we’re going to get for a while. CC and reading all the comments here mean so much to me now. Who says adults can’t have imaginary friends?
  13. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. It doesn’t matter how long our parents are with us, it’s heartbreaking to lose them. Not being able to be with your father is especially tragic. You have my sympathy.
  14. Hmm. I kind of like the excursion stuff. If I’m ever allowed out of the house again I might visit the Shenandoah Valley. 😊
  15. I can’t believe Katie is so critical of Derek’s dreams. Taking an adventurous backpacking trip, writing a book and a song, and skydiving are things people do all the time. It’s not like he wants to live in a shoe or convert to Asian or something. I’m shocked that Mindy has any hope of building a marriage with Zach, but I’m still fascinated watching the two of them. Thank you all you lovely posters! Whether I agree with you or not, you help make watching this show more fun and living through the coronavirus more tolerable. I mostly lurk and don’t post much, so thank goodness you’re not more like me, because I’d have nothing to read. I love you all—stay safe. 💜 ETA, thank you @gingerandclovesfor your coming attractions recaps. I bet they’re a lot of work. I love reading them.
  16. Could you (or anyone) please explain how you watch Couples’ Couch? I can find links to trailers, but not the actual show.
  17. Grammar nazi here!🙋🏻 We’re so rarely asked for our input that I had to respond. 💜 It’s “I haven’t drunk.” So many people say it wrong that it sounds funny when you say it right, but I encourage you to say it right anyway. Thanks for the analysis about Matt, btw. You have a lot of insight.
  18. I kind of get this, but I don’t really think I’m better than those people. I might be luckier or make better decisions than those people, but I’m not better than anyone else. I think we all have value as human beings, and the most we can hope for is to be better versions of ourselves.
  19. This is so true, and so well written. I wish more people agreed with us. It’s true that so many people don’t report crimes because of shame for their own behavior that might have contributed to it, which makes it all the more surprising that Debra has been so open with her own story. It’s a cautionary tale, though, and so gripping because most of us have been stupid at times, although not necessarily to the extent that Debra has. Thank goodness people as awful as Dirty John are rare.
  20. Could you please explain how you know John killed his father from the show? I could tell his father was dying in the hospital, but I didn’t get that John had killed him.
  21. This is so true. I guess everyone has to settle to some extent in relationships, but it’s unfortunate how much some people think have to settle for. And, yes, bringing kids into the equation makes the calculation much more complicated. I just assumed that the relationship was over after she found out about the affair, and when the drug-stealing came up, I wasn’t sure where it fit into the timeline at first. I wish they would do a better job of indicating the timeline. While the first wife seems smarter than Deb, I wonder if there were red flags that she overlooked that they’re just not showing.
  22. I was surprised that first wife (Lynn?) apparently didn’t leave him when she found he was cheating, but finally left him when she found out about him steeling drugs.
  23. Oh dear, ZM. I am one of your biggest fans. We’re both British AND American (but I’m not South African.) You are funny and I love to laugh. But, ahem, I work for the government, and I generally try to do a good job and finish stuff, and I don’t want to work with Craig. So would you mind taking that back?
  24. I’m so sorry, ZW. I don’t know what else to say. It’s awful enough to hear about these things in the news. I can’t imagine what it’s like when it hits so close to home.
  25. I had to scroll up to see who wrote this—it’s brilliant! Then I thought, of course, @FilmNoir, I should have known. I don’t even like to swear, but now it’s my life’s ambition to become soigne as fuck!
