  1. I didn't think she was quick to believe Will was capable of this either...and I'm not sure she really wants to believe it now, but the evidence is rather damning. The only reason they found out about Will's illness was because Alana wouldn't believe he could do this and she was trying to find something to explain it. It would be interesting to learn why she trusts Hannibal so completely though. I haven't had a hard time swallowing it yet, but if there is a backstory here, I would love to see it.

  3. I got the impression that the over zealous deputy was trying to be super cop, I don't think she cared about Norman per se, but wanted get her man so to speak. It sounded like she was new to the department--didn't she say that her friend at the crime lab used to work under her at said crime lab? Anyway, I just got the impression she was over-eager to do some crime fighting.
  4. Sorry, to drive you buggy and stirrup trouble. I'd change it, but I canter race what others have ridden. I'd like to thank all of you chaps for participating, your mothers reared you properly, but it might be time to bale before I get whinny.

  6. Well, maybe he took some other stuff out...Nope, not going down that road any further, just started to gross my own damn self out.
  7. Yeah, I think Will knows that above all Hannibal loves to be "interesting." Mads little smirk there was just fabulous! He was so flattered by the idea that his little pet was interested in him. I'm not saying that Will isn't interested in Hannibal, but I think he's using Hannibal's weakness to get him to reveal himself a bit here. And it seemed to work. Hannibal was much more Hannibal-like the rest of the episode. He kept trying to push Will and play with him, but I think Will was playing more with Hannibal now.
  8. Hee! I just posted something similar over at TWoP, Ostrich. Glad to know someone else was getting the Wednesday vibe...and I too have not read the books nor seen the movies, so I have no clue who she is and all the references just flew over my head also. I was thinking of reading the books this summer--so I would have a clue when these things cropped up on the show--but I decided I prefer to watch it this way. No expectations that way, just enjoying the ride. I really enjoyed this episode. It was nice to get Will back on the team and Zeller's apology was so wonderful--I do like Team Sassy Science, but they were starting to get on my nerves there for a bit with them not seeing how the evidence didn't add up--that was such a nice moment and they way he cracked a little when talking about Beverly...very nicely played Mr. Zeller. I also loved Price's "you were being too wordy" comment to Zeller. I do love these two numbskulls. Mads subtle facial expressions just floor me--he's so damn good--all the scenes with Will and Hannibal were just chalked full of mastery. Can I join the Chilton's-not-dead club? Is there a secret knock or handshake...while I'm at it, could someone let me into the Jack's-on-the-same-page-as-Will club too?

  13. It's a bit finicky...sometimes I have to do the SHIFT+ENTER at the end of a line and then have to delete the ENTER that already exists from the line below. Sometimes with SHIFT+ENTER it also leaves one character on the line above that I have to manually delete and add to the line below. Does this make any sense at all or am I just babbling about SHIFT and ENTER?
  14. Took me a while to figure this one out also PeterMartell--ENTER starts a new paragraph (with the extra spaces) and SHIFT+ENTER just starts a new line (with out the spaces.) -- Nightmare -- Route 666 -- Home 29- Pilot 29 - Scarecrow 25 - The Benders 23 - Faith 23 - Dead in the Water 21 - Skin 21 - Devil's Trap 19 - Something Wicked 17 - Phantom Traveler 15 - Hell House 15 - Bloody Mary 13 - Shadow 13 - Salvation 13 - Wendigo 11 - Asylum 09 - Nightmare 09 - Route 666 07 - Home GANKED: Bugs Provenance Dead Man's Blood Hook Man

  16. That's more what I was getting at...there were a lot of factors that led to Will's breakdown and being out in the field for the first time in years did not help in the least.
  17. That's totally Wheaton. I find him both annoying and likeable and I never know which wins in the end. He's like this as an actor also, over-articulating and such, and sometimes it works--like on The Big Bang Theory--and sometimes not so much. I don't know, this time he didn't annoy me quite as much as I think he could have. At least he is devoted to the show and seems to really love it.
  18. I guess I more saw it as not Jack's fault or anything, but I don't think that he was really taking any care to see what was going on with Will until it was too late--which is, I think, what Alana's concerns were. I think she felt like Will needed someone to look out for him a bit and she knew it couldn't be her and probably wouldn't be Jack since his priority would be to solve cases rather than worry about his profiler. Ironically, wasn't is her that recommended Hannibal?
  19. She was right that Jack shouldn't put Will out there and let him get too close to his cases. She was right that Abigail was hiding something. She figured out Will's illness because of the clock drawing tests...I think that she's been right about quite a bit, but she's been wrong about the bigger things, like Will being a killer. I think they set her up to be right about things in S1 because they knew she was going to be very wrong this season so they didn't want her to be perceived as so incompetent. It's just that what they had her be right and wrong about didn't really serve this properly and we silly viewers don't always remember things from a year past as much as we do things from a week ago. They probably could have had her be right about something this season so she doesn't seem so naïve. However, I don't really see her as being foolish or anything (but can understand why others do). She represents how manipulative Hannibal is and is kinda like one of Jeffery Dahmer's friends or neighbors who stated that they never saw him as creepy or weird, instead they characterized him as a nice, quiet neighbor and seemed like a good guy. I would be a lot more disappointed in her if Hannibal had ever let his person suit crumple in her presence...but he hasn't, so I'm cutting her a little slack right now. I do think the fallout is going to be epic and tragic for her though.

  21. Yes, Chilton did propose the same treatment, but he said it wasn't an accepted procedure and it's basically the same procedure that Hannibal used to place false memories in Will's head. I'm more annoyed that Jack took her to confront the guy that he thought had kidnapped her and traumatized her and then allowed that same suspect to use an unaccepted procedure on Miriam. She's not only traumatized, but if he really suspected Hannibal then it was rather foolish since Hannibal could have further messed with Miriam's head making her even more useless and unreliable with the investigation. It's one thing to put Miriam in the same room as Hannibal to see if it knocks something lose, it's completely another to have the guy suspected of cutting off her arm and holding her captive for years perform a mind screwy procedure on her.
  22. Thanks Slovenly Muse, I knew I didn't recall it all exactly correctly, but I remember at the time thinking that she was sort of a smart cookie for finding Hannibal when so many others couldn't.
  23. I think that's the idea--timelessness. Norma/Norman's fashion sense, the house and motel and the pot business give the show a sense of operating out of our time. But then they mix in the cell phones and such to make it seem more modern. I think this sort of dated quality is exactly what TPTB want, I don't think they want us to really pin a time period on this.
  24. God, I edited it to try and make it right and still got it wrong...maybe I should stop trying to fix things myself. I'm going to try and do it this time without screwing it all up... ++ The Benders ++ Skin -- Shadow 29- Pilot 29 - Scarecrow 25 - Devil's Trap 25 - The Benders 25 - Skin 21 - Faith 21 - Dead in the Water 21 - Something Wicked 17 - Phantom Traveler 17 - Bloody Mary 15 - Shadow 15 - Hell House 15 - Asylum 13 - Route 666 15 - Nightmare 15 - Salvation 11 - Wendigo 09 - Home GANKED: Bugs Provenance Dead Man's Blood Hook Man
  25. But it wasn't just Hannibal she was checking out, he was last on a long list of doctors that would fit the bill, if I remember correctly. Jack knew that she was checking out the medical records of some of the victims in hopes it would lead her to the killer, but he didn't know who she was talking to precisely-that was the "wink, wink" part of their conversation--he couldn't legally follow this line of investigation as the head of the department and all that, but since she was just a trainee she could probably get away with it as long as Jack didn't know what she was up to, hence her going it all alone. She could be seen as being rather clever since she found a way to work around the problem and achieve her goal--problem solving is a sign of intelligence, after all. I have far less problems with Miriam asking questions on her own than I do with the notion that Alana would have been chosen to interrogate her lover or that Jack would have not only taken a traumatized Miriam to Hannibal's office to face him, but also allow him to do an "unaccepted" procedure on her. Or that Will would confront Hannibal with a gun and not freakin' shoot him in the face, but instead allowed Hannibal to manipulate him once again. For some reason I can suspend my belief about Hannibal's time traveling experiences, but these other things just stretched my hand waving abilities to the limits. It's a good thing that the show is so pretty to look at--god, it's shot so beautifully and acted so masterfully.
