It may be weird but I am totally fine with that.

I lol every time I watch those videos of Tom. WTF is he doing in the one in Times Square? Honestly, it's a little creepy. It reminds me of the scene from the original IT when the kids are looking at the photo album of old Derry and you see Pennywise coming closer and closer to the camera.

I don't trust the American girl at all. She's as fake as a Louis Vuitton on Canal Street. To me it's clear that she just wants to be on TV. I will reserve judgment for the other one, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't cook this up together.

Yolanda and Williams: The British Aren't Coming
mamadrama replied to OnceSane's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
So Yolanda is kind of the scammer/catfish in this situation. She knew about "Williams" before she ever got cast on the show and she's just on here, pretending to be in love, so that she can publicize her diet book. Everything we've seen her do or will see her do is either a reenactment or flat out lie. I feel like Tyra Banks "WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU!" -
I loved how Stacey was low key trying to make Darcey feel worse. "What else could he be lying about!" "Maybe he never loved you!" Like damn, girl. She knows which buttons to push.

Don't you know that it's soulmate code? A line of emojis equals true love and"drinking coffee" passes for wit. They are soooo far beyond the rest of us mere mortals who will never know what real love is...

Geoffrey and Varya: Russian Roulette

If there were only a few domestic violence charges from the same woman then that would be bad enough. He has had multiple charges of dv from multiple women. In one instance the police reported that the evidence of blood spatter around the house lined up with what the woman alleged. He is shrugging this off as "heresay". IMO multiple women filing multiple charges of violence against him is not hearsay, it's a pattern. Even without convictions (some of the cases are still pending) it should have raised enough flags that Sharp or TLC shouldn't have ignored. TLC has a legal department. This shit should have been addressed. -
Ed and Rosemarie: The Long and the Short of It

I'm all about falling in love with a foreigner, but I have to side eye the men who target specific countries with the intention of finding a wife. IMO they target those particular women for a reason. -

And we still never got an answer to that, did we? Damn it. Eh, I'm still convinced that Maci Bokout's shoulder tattoo is a used tissue. I can't see it as anything else. Now THAT is who we should be offended by-people who spend lots of money on bad tattoos. -
That will never not be funny.

Ed and Rosemarie: The Long and the Short of It
mamadrama replied to OnceSane's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
This is terrible, but about 20 years ago my dad knew a guy who married a woman from the Philippines. He basically went through a wife-finding agency. (Take into consideration that my dad and this entire situation are in an area that most of the country would consider to be Redneck Heaven.) Anyway, his friend spent thousands of dollars to be "matched" to this woman and to then fly down there to meet her, apply for the visa, and fly her back. As Dad was telling me this story he said, "And a year later she ran off from him so he went back down there and got him another one! He's trying to get me to get one, too." To this day I can't be sure that he said "got" and not "bought", but either way that story has stuck with me. I am sure that there are relationships that are loving and built on respect, but I can't help but hear those words in my dad's asshole-of-a-friend's voice. And it makes me really sad. I am usually 100% on the side of the women in these situations. I am rooting for the NIkki's, the Hazels, the Jennys, the Rosemaries... -
I hope so, too. I actually think that the "you should stay with us instead of in the hotel room with him" by her friends was actually at production's insistence. I hope so. I wonder how much the producers knew at the time of filming. At least one incident happened after filming, but there were enough beforehand that they should've been aware. If they weren't then someones needs to get fired for not running a basic Google search. There was a switch in the way Varya acted pre-landing and post-landing. Maybe that's when someone sat her down and told her.

I'm from the mountains where we take it personal if our guests don't stay with us when they come to visit...and even I would have stayed in a hotel on this trip. He's a father himself. IMO there should've been a "how about I stay in a hotel for the first few nights while you get to know me and your son feels comfortable with me" instead of a "I'm gonna shack up with this woman and have her parade around in a negligee in a room that will be shared by us and her 4 year old". My prediction is that a hotel stay will be involved at some point. I'm hoping that what we're seeing now is just part of the storyline. Hell, even POLE and his 15 crates of Lysol and body condoms knew to stay in a hostel.

He's one of the few modern singers I can stomach. Am I the only one excited about the Goofballs 2.0? I love it when the foreigners have a Greek chorus.

S04.E02: Great Expectations
mamadrama replied to Leilani's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Yeah, I've heard those comments. As a former travel writer I can attest to that-traveling to Australia IS expensive. I made decent money but there was no way I could travel to that part of the world if Rough Guides hadn't been paying for it. The airfare alone was twice my mortgage. Now I'm confused as to where any of this tattoo conversation even got started. IMO money being too tight to go halfway around the world on a trip to see your internet crush is much different than being destitute and struggling to pay your bills or feed your kids. -

How hard they take it really depends on the woman. I'm 40 and look better now than I did when I was a teenager. My original question, and the one I've asked several times since then, was where did Avery talk about being poor? If someone could direct me to that part of the episode then that would be awesome. I haven't given this series my undivided attention yet because I tend to tune out until they meet their foreign counterparts. -

As they're literally driving from the airport (or restaurant in Tom's case) through town. I mean, I've said that about a lot of international cities I've visited but usually not until I've been there for at least a day-or until my feet have touched ground. -

Yeah, her actions and her words don't align. On her social media posts and in her voiceovers, both places where she has a lot of control over image, she talks about being a "queen" and a "strong woman". I bet she does in her DMs to guys, too. But once you turn Darcy loose and let her go in person, she completely falls apart. She can't keep up the "strong woman" facade because she lacks such basic self esteem. So she goes for victim. But yeah, most guys don't want that shit. The damsel in distress thing can only go so far and she pushes WAY past that point. Someone asked if her ex getting married last spring made things worse, but I'm betting it's partly her daughters coming of age. They're beautiful, natural teenagers and probably a reminder every single day that Darcy's, er, NOT natural and is no longer a young girl. Wouldn't surprise me if she's starting to feel some competition. She reminds me a bit of Blanche Deveroux, the main difference being that Blanche would never let a man see her fall apart-much less beg for his attention. -

Yeah, so far nobody is looking good yet. Darcy reminds me of a lot of the 13 year olds I know-she thinks a proposal and a wedding are the end game. Or, er, the "prize." Spends all her time fantasizing about the proposal and wedding but doesn't put real work into the relationship. -
I like Varya and I think it sucks that she may be in the dark about all of this.

Oh, no, you're fine! I was trying not to give any in my reply, that's all. ☺️ I don't think they're really that gullible. In some cases I think they're really playing it up for TV time. For instance, I think Caesar was never planning on meeting Maria in Mexico. -
The whole situation plays out a little like the song "Fancy." (I shivered as I watched a roach crawl across my high heel shoe/ It sounded like somebody else was talking asking 'Mama what can I do'/She said'Just be nice to the gentleman Fancy/They'll be nice to you'") I'm imagining looking at my own daughter and hoping that she'll grow up pretty because that's her best chance of getting out. Knowing that she may draw the interest of someone twice her age, but hoping he's at least kind to her. Leaving every thing she knows and loves while probably daydreaming about a room full of toys and a good school for her son. I mean, that shit is bleak. I've known women who have done this. I grew up poor, but at least I was given the chance to better my life. I had college, good jobs to give me valuable work experience, plenty of time to form dreams...I'm sure she's using him as a chance to get her and her son a better life, but he is using her for her youthful beauty. Doesn't mean the marriage won't last, oftentimes they do, but I still find it sad.

Honestly, nice sheets in that situation is a little out of touch with reality. It reminds me of growing up with my dad having an outhouse and the time my mom gave him a frilly little WHITE throw rug in there. Dad was in need of toilet paper, lime to pour down the hole, wasp spray, batteries for the lantern we kept in there...I mean, the outhouse was 100 feet behind the house and you had to walk through muddy patches to get to it, yet here's my mother going through her Home Interior magazine... (Mom and Dad never lived together.) Or the time when my friend's house caught on fire and they lost EVERYTHING, including the baby and the toddler. They needed soap, shampoo, underwear, toothbrushes...you know, basic stuff. Money for the girls'funeral...My other friend, however, wanted to give the surviving teenagers PROM DRESSES. It was September. She said "having something pretty to wear will make them feel good". Yeah, well, so would toothpaste. Like WHERE the hell are they going to wear those to? More importantly, where are they going to store them? Their house was gone and they were temporarily staying in a homeless shelter... Completely out of touch. I'm not comparing Rose's place to an outhouse, btw. It's just funny (and not in a ha ha way) that Big Ed's worried about his delicate skin while, meanwhile, Rose and her baby are showering in a bucket and sleeping on a mat on the floor.

Or "regrattable." (Thank you Meet the Millers) -
Guys, I can't even snark on Rosemarie. Can you imagine living in a world where going to another country for a man who's 30 years older than you and slicks back his hair with Mayo an upgrade? I'm ready to give her the green card myself.
