  1. Maybe it's just that PF drives me nuts because she is completely self-centered...but I'm with Jackie about the reading. You don't like someone, they seem to know that, and you ask them for a favor for a stupid life situation that you should resolve yourself. Uh, yeah. How old is PF's son? She means Nathan right? Is there another son? Look around your house yourself, find it, and have him renew his own passport. The coddling of these grown children, yeesh. I think Figaro is adorable. I love all animals really, even if they're pampered, pure bred and on Reality tv (ahem, Giggy VdP). And he clearly loves Lydia, but that painting was not a great representation. He had the wide eyes but it was "i'm unsure, uh oh" eyes not the "i love you" eyes that I've seen him give Lydia. (Only the love of a dog...). Plus, as others have said, he looked black, not grey/brown that he seems to be. Oh well. yes, Bravo indeed. Well designed in having the painter come over while PF was at Lydia's house so that they could get her comment. Hee. Is Janet's style different this season? What is wrong with me that I kind of like the black rocker style on her better than the weird bright gowns.
  2. Yes to this. And then there are little details like if this was getting National media, there would be interest in having reporters in the courtroom. Now, the judge may have closed the courtroom to media, but then there would be media outside the building right? That happens. But there doesn't seem to be. It's a detail just to be a detail. Or it's to be expository - but that's clunky too. I'm still hanging in with this show but I don't know. It's reminding me of some recent films (Imitation Game is one example) that are a series of events rather than being a story. They look good, there is good acting, but they leave me kind of wanting.
  3. I read on another site (and I somehow missed this even with HD) that Naz got "Sin" "Bad" tattooed on his fingers. Sinbad as reference from the earlier Freddy conversation "Are you Sinbad or Alladin?". But also two words that, you know, innocent and good people often think to tattoo on their fingers. I'm not anti-tattoo, I sort of like the coyote thing on his arm but dude, finger tattoos? *head on desk*
  4. I was holding together until this too. Just sheer joy. I've made Marshmallow fondant a couple of times. I'd rather do that than buying a bucket of whatever in stores. I don't make many fondant cakes but I find it pretty easy to work with. Great thing about it is that if it gets hard, you just microwave it to soften it up. It's pretty easy to color too but it makes a lovely white by itself. I also like the flavor is vanilla (or you can flavor it, lemon is nice) rather than almond which I think is classic fondant. Overall this finale was great. I loved all of them and wouldve been happy with any of them winning. Was pretty obvious after the first day that it was Nadiya's to loose. Ian forgetting to put sugar in his cream bun... poor dear. That's nerves for ya. I'm excited to make Tamal's sticky toffee cake this winter (or before). BBC Food has the recipe.
  5. This is so funny. He looks like someone I know too, who is quite dear to me. I think it makes me like Ian more than I would otherwise but I still like him, that tinkering spirit. I'll forgive him the roadkill pie, somewhat, maybe British roadkill is as jacked up and swollen as the stuff in the States? Yeah, uh that's it.
  6. Do you think that was actually him? The snoring sounded a little too perfect and even. I think it was dubbed. Though, if there wasn't that snoring sound he would've looked dead, so I get the editing choice to add it in. I can't be sure but that's what I thought. I live with someone who has sleep apnea (but won't acknowledge it or do anything about it - grrr) and while everyone is different, I notice with the person I know that when there is that snoring/choking sound his lungs expand/contract more obviously because he's probably trying to get more air. It's also a less consistent cadence. Point is, i didn't see that with Chad. But I'm not a nurse or doctor and only have a few samples of people i know to pull from.
  7. Listening to the description of Chad's snapchats is painful. I don't like him and think he's a violent asshole but to watch someone dive head first into lower lows makes me feel sick to my stomach. Especially since he doesn't seem to realize it. It reminds me of Requiem for a Dream but the fix is fame (and alcohol now) instead of drugs. I have mixed feelings about the show's involvement with this and BIP as his second chance. Last year JJ went on the show and completely turned his image around. Maybe they figured - benefit of the doubt? Like hey maybe he'll be self aware and make use of this, turn it around or... it'll be the rope. Looks like it's clear which way that went. Moving on... I (like some of you I see) also always kind of liked Nick too. On screen he's witty, cute and he's the only one we saw putting on sunscreen. Good for you Nick. (I think he would actually be a really good Bachelor but I think that ship may have sailed. ) I also can't help but like Carly, she's a fun narrator. I guess that goes a long way with me because i'm into storytelling. BIP1 had Michelle Money but it wasn't quite the same. Last year between Tanner and Carly, there was some gold.
  8. I'm questioning (or loving) the design choice to put mini Luke'sshrunken picture under Jojos hair canopy. I bet at that size, his voice is even higher.
  9. Her mother appears intelligent but it's hard to listen to what she's saying when I'm staring at her face trying to figure out work I think she's had done. [ETA I just think women are more beautiful without all that, and they let their age and wisdom show. ] I think JoJoJordan will be done before BIP finishes airing but they'll announce it the same special event that they announce the new Bachelor. Women picking men tend to fare better on this series, guess not this time. When I think about Kaitlin and Shawn, and how they seem still happy etc., I'm reminded that they had to deal with the backlash from Trolls/Ppl of the Internet because of Kaitlin sleeping with Nick . Seems like Shawn truly supported her during that, he was there for her. (Gosh listen to me...sorry.) Going through something difficult can cement things, show you what people are really made of. I'm not sensing that support from Jordan for JoJo, and in my opinion nothing about either of them this season in the tabloids is as bad as what Kaitlin had to endure from faceless haters. If this article is correct, the sister is JoJo's half sibling from her Dad and his first wife. Soyraya is his 2nd wife and the two look-alike brothers are half-siblings of hers from her Mom's first marriage. https://www.romper.com/p/who-are-jojos-parents-on-the-bachelorette-she-comes-from-a-blended-family-15103 I liked JoJo's dip dye sweater on her date with Robby. I've liked her gowns but I think this sweater is the first casual clothing I've liked that she's worn. Heh.
  10. I agree with this and consider myself a "wrong reasons" viewer. I don't mind the verbal smackdowns. Or even the cattiness. Vienna, Courtney, Bentley, Carly even the Chicago Eagle face guy. I think that environment breeds really odd possessive behavior and it's sort of fascinating to me. That's enough drama for me. But the violent streak in Chad is what bothers me. I don't want to see that on my TV, it's not ok and by giving him any attention they're approving of it. The attention he gets doesn't differentiate between straight talking Chad (which is somewhat refreshing to hear, though he signed up for the show, so, grain of salt, bro) and threatening violent asshole Chad (which is not acceptable). Same guy. Just make him go away. I just feel that at this pace there will be an actual fight in a few seasons. Remember the good ol' days of reality tv when even threats of violence were enough to get you kicked off a show? Ahhh, those were the days.
  11. What i've seen week over week, and this is my theory, is that she went in with a strategy of "when they tell me they love me, I'll decide how I feel about them based on my reaction". Chase, James, etc. (there were more but i've forgotten their names.) So going in, the first guy (Jordan right?) had better chances. Because as sincere as any human can be, hearing ILY for the 10th time in 5 weeks from different guys can't possibly have the impact the 10th time as it did the first. I'm probably over analyzing but I find it so weird that she leaves her analysis of how she really feels up to this reaction to a little phrase.
  12. This paragraph is hilarious. I thought JoJo would be a fun bachelorette to watch because she spoke about her feelings pretty well, but this episode put me to sleep mid-way. Just finished watching it. What on earth was JoJo wearing on her date with Luke? Plaid shirt split up the sides secured with safety pins. Yeech. I like Luke the best of the guys but he would be a very boring Bachelor. Plus I don't see Fleiss & Co in any way, elegantly or not, adding his singing career back into the personality they've created for him. Since they've completely ignored it in favor of making James the singer on the show.
  13. I agree with your entire post xingcat but specifically this. Those two guys give me the creeps and Mr. Rag's condescension is so stereotypical of mean fashion people. There's direct and what we saw to me was on the rude side of direct. Watching Episode 8. Anna briskly walking away from the Chromat piece that gave the coordinator, Selby, a small electric shock was hysterical. "Don't electrocute yourself Selby it's not worth it." So comforting that Anna, not are you ok? But moreso, I'm outta here.
  14. I have liked both elimination challenges so far. Naked cakes because it's somewhat technical (hard to hide flaws) and dare I say, on trend. And lookalikes because it's really creative. The fondant was the easy way out and I was glad that not everyone used it. This show is no GBBS but so few are the shows on FN which have somewhat firm critiques and collegial contestants, it'll do until my real fix. I had high hopes for the Deadhead. Moto is known for really creative cuisine, including desserts - in their heyday it had a dessert that looked like cigarettes and ashes. One of the chef/owners (Homaru Cantu) died last year so maybe it's hard times for them. Too bad. Try to watch (or steam ;) Future Food to see what it's about - it's really interesting. Anyway, dude needed to bake a little more. Part of me loved the song lyric banter between him and Bobby. Oh well. I'm curious about the personal trainer's cream genoise, sounds really yummy. Ashley looks like Sex and the City Charlotte (Kristen Davis) and it's really unnerving me!
  15. I've had to go back and look at the clothes from Season 13 because I remember really liking Kini's designs as well as being really impressed by his construction. That was a really strong season at the end. I didn't love his finale collection as much, but I was a fan. Now this. It's like his obsession with Sam is making his designs bad. So perplexing. He needs to get over it and focus on his designs. In a very weird way, I get Asha's shoe choice and kind of liked it. If I just think about the jumpsuit and less so the peplum. It was a very boho sandal and looked sort of homemade like Rapunzel could've made it from pieces of silk (that the prince brought her) and since Rapunzel sings I see her as a folk singer type made to dress up. I am defending the shoe. Maybe too much. But honestly, at first I thought it was strange but then i found it cool.
