I don’t think that the Bates/Duggar relationship is half as close as they make it out to be. Yes, both sets of parents went on vacay together to celebrate the Bates’ anniversary but I get the vibe that it was more of a “let’s charter Fundy Air for the trip and, since JD can’t be unaccompanied in such a heathen place, we need to go too. Oh and by the way, Jana’s eggs are aging...let’s talk merger over nada-Ritas.” Type of thing.

His pants are way too small. They are binding at his hips and should be up higher, at his waist. And they are pulling at the snap. Babies that young should not wear adult-type pants. Way too constricting at their tender middles or, in his case, pelvis.

We got slammed with snow here. There was a good 8” on my car this morning and at least 12” on my driveway when I got home from work. Heavy, wet snow. Barely shovelable. Hope everyone is OK.

two Things: 1. IMHO there was no reason for Jill to tag along on that trip. None. Other than being a chaperone. But she has an infant in tow who is taking up all of her attention. So she isn’t chaperoning 100%. 2. I am REEEEEEEALLY tired of being told I’m not a Christian Because I’m Orthodox and not whatever Protestant denomination they ascribe to. Go back and read church history, dolts. Or pick up a theology book. Learn about other Christian sects. It’s all the same Jesus. All the same God. Just how you worship. Oh and icons are not idolatry. We have them in our churches and homes to remind us of biblical lessons and key people. We venerate what is represented there. Not the icon itself. Learn a little before you go judging.

I just saw an article that says Anna was in an episode of Married With Children. I checked her IMDB listing and sure enough, it’s there. https://m.imdb.com/name/nm2641681/ She would’ve been three or four at the time. The website also credits her for an appearance on Today that dates to 1952...so not 100% sold on IMDB’s accuracy lol!!!

I read the post to say that the that the issue the OP has is that people are voting against Jill’s pic to just see them lose. Because they are Duggars and for no other reason. The issue as I see it is not the idea that Jill entered the contest. The idea that some people are rallying against is that she is CLEARLY using her recognizable image as a catalyst to get people to vote for her so they can win. Jill is a D-list celebrity. People recognize her. She included her image in the shot and also posted it to social media (where she has MANY followers) with the intent of garnering votes. While there is nothing wrong with this in the rules, there is a lot wrong with her using her semi-celebrity status to win over people who do not share her status.

So I saw on another J-Rod focused thread that there is a theory that Plexus could have caused the baby’s in-utero stroke? Supposedly that crap has a lot of caffeine in it and caffeine may be linked to fetal strokes. That’s supposedly why they warn pregnant women to steer clear of coffee and highly caffeinated drinks. At least, my docs did. It also said in the thread that she drinks it like water. So instead of feeding the kids properly (sorry not sorry...skinny genetics aside these kids are looking just plain malnourished) and having good prenatal care, she pays an arm and a leg to guzzle gallons of this MLM crap that (I’ve read) can cause kidney damage? Or a host of other issues? ...and why would a pregnant woman drink something that is supposedly a weight loss supplement? Those poor kids.

Here’s what is confusing me...in their belief system women/girls are second-class citizens. Unfettered temptresses and worthy only of constant scrutiny and monitoring. Because of the need to be pure of thought, word and deed at all times. They are uneducated beings whose only predestined role in life is to care for younger siblings, breed, and care for their headship’s every need, in and out of the bedroom. So if this is the life of a female in their homes, why on EARTH would you brag about having girls?

Are we sure she went with him? My guess is not, since the trip was so expensive. If she did go, then man...that’s just wrong. She is not a student of the school and therefore should not go along. The trip to DC left me SMH. No reason at all for her to go. The only reason why Jill would go is that she does not trust Dreck to be unaccompanied. Learned behavior that she cannot get rid of. Her entire life she has been with at least one other person. There was no autonomy growing up in that family. No learned trust in their spouse that they will keep their hands to themselves or turn away unwanted advances. Because, after all, men can’t control themselves and women are natural temptresses out to snag your man for her own ?. With Smuggar’s infidelity I’m sure this point has been solidified. You can’t trust your spouse to do the right thing. So you go along in order to keep an eye on the situation. A sad, sad way to live imho.

In RE: the waiting to get pregnant after c-section thing, I gave birth to two YOUGE babies (10 lbs 4 ozs three weeks early and 12 lbs) via C-section. After my first, my doc told me flat out to wait a minimum of two years to get PG again. He said that the risk of uterine rupture is higher for moms who do get PG before two years than for those who wait. I went home and looked up uterine rupture and I said NOPE. I waited five years just to be absolutely certain I was healed as well as I was going to be. Too much risk to the baby and me to even consider otherwise. Even if I had the “right Jesus” in my corner. ? I believe that Jill did wait almost two years to try for Sam. Not sure if it was a healing thing or if that’s just how long it took them to get one to stick. Hoping that Joy waits as well. And next time she gets good prenatal care. That whole sketchy fundie midwife with homebirth thing is just too crazy for me to even consider. Especially if she is trying for a VBAC.

Purely hypothetical. However one can certainly be led to believe thst based upon Dreck’s twats. And lots of circumstantial evidence.

But she didn’t actually “GET” the house...it was hers to live in until it sold. Which is pretty smart of JB to do because before JB bought it to flip, it was vandalized because it sat alone for so long. A marked house to vandals and thieves. And buying it, spending the money to rehab it, only to have someone come along and wreck it again would be bad. So Jill and Dreck were more “long-term housesitters” than homeowners. Jim bob’s investment was protected and Jilly Muffin and Dreck got a beautiful love nest in which to kick off the baby making. Win win!

I would say these exotic honeymoons were more “production costs” for an on-site shoot than compensation. Jessa, Jinger and Joy all worked on their honeymoon and had to deal with cameras and crew during what should have been an extremely romantic time. I’m sure TLC wasn’t with them the whole time, but still. It was work. I akin this to when I have to travel for work. My employer pays for my travel, room and board while I’m away. But it’s not part of my salary nor do I have to claim it on my taxes because I’m there to represent my employer and to work. Same thing with the honeymoons. It’s business travel for the sole purpose of shooting a tee vee show, IMHO.

This makes me wonder. I remember in Jill’s and Jessa’s planning episodes they received a very small sum ($10,000?) to put on a wedding for a thousand or more people. How is that even close to the compensation they should’ve really received for participation in the show? Even a high end honeymoon in addition would be maybe $10,000. I think these kids were jacked.

Ok so I’m still down the rabbit hole. This time I’m looking up Gothard and just REELING at the whole belief system. This piece was written by the survivor of a cult. Scientology, to be precise. You are right, Sew. I quickly googled “Jill Duggar wedding” and the first thing that came up was an article dated October 2014. I was getting tired climbing out of my rabbit hole lol! But to get even more curious, the wedding was June 21, right? Well according to http://www.arkansascorporates.com/corp/413721.html the LLC was established on June 5, 2014. Still before the wedding. So I will revise my conjecture to say that Jim Bob loggged in the LLC weeks before the wedding instead of months. Still he saw the writing on the wall and possibly fixed things to prevent loss of power. Thanks for keeping my theory in check!

Sorry, this is going to be long. I believe that Jim Bob holds the purse strings for all of the Dugs and adjacents. Always have. And it took Dreck, someone who supposedly understands money, to fully grasp what was going on. And that is a threat to JB. And new speculation and Dreck’s twatting has shed more light. 1. When the TLC train started rolling the kids were minors. All but Smuggar, who I believe was just reaching (or reached) the age of consent in AR. I remember rumor that there was an LLC set up called something like “Duggar Enterprises “ or “Duggar Entertainment” a while back but I can’t seem to find anything on the interwebz with those names. However, JB has “Duggar Properties LLC” and “Duggar Aviation LLC” as orgs that could handle the show and all contracts, in addition to the holdings they had in real estate and all other interests present or future. And under this umbrella JB can safely negotiate contracts for him, MeChelle and the kids. Forming the LLC protected their claim to be “debt free” because all purchases, from houses to cars to property, could made under the LLC. It’s not JB’s debt after all, it’s the LLC’s debt. As Jill’s courtship was in full swing, JB could see the writing on the wall re: losing headship of that portion of the family business. So he could very easily set up the LLC and place all of the show’s interests under that umbrella. Including contracts. This would bar Dreck and all future adjacents from gaining interests from the show (except for what JB grants them). And here’s how (hypothetically): 2. The LLC is the organization that contracts with TLC, not Jim Bob, not the kids. Prior to the first wedding (Smugannna) there was not any sort of threat to JB’s claim to all TLC money. The kids were mostly all minors and he, as their parent, controlled all of their business dealings including contracts and pay. He squirreled away all money from TLC into a family pot. As Jill and Dreck’s relationship grew (and seeing as she was over the age of 21 and some of the other kids were, too), JB could’ve easily had the kidults sign agreements that put him as their manager and money handler. Problem solved. But no. Dreck has a degree in accounting and understands money. So how to keep control? Start an LLC from which all tv contracts stem. I am in a business where I frequently work with talent. Mainly voice over actors. My company contracts with an agency who then subcontracts with the actors (who are themselves freelance and not employees of the agency). Which leads me to speculate that... 3. Jim Bob may have set up a non-public agency under the LLC that has contracted with each of the kids as “talent”. The agency would then “hire” the kids on an as-needed basis when the show was filming. And the terms of the kids’ contracts could be that they do not individually receive compensation in the form of cash for their work (hence Dreck’s whine about being a “volunteer” on the show and not being paid). Instead, they could theoretically receive room and board and clothing in exchange for their work, be it in the TTH or one of the many other houses JB owns (like the pool house). If a kidult wishes to purchase their own home then the LLC could, in theory, pay for said home under the premise that ownership reverts back to the LLC if the contract is found void (like the kids leave the fold or the show for whatever reason). This would keep the kidults and adjacents in line and with pantries full of kook aid. All purely speculation of course.
