  2. My fingers are crossed for this heh. I need more from them than one playoff appearance in several seasons, a terrible coach that time left behind years ago, and an "I don't want to talk about it move out west.". Yes they doubled their worth with the move, but I don't want them to become the Bengals. No offense to Bengals; I mean Bangles fans. I don't honestly care what act is on during halftime. I'll watch whether I like them or not. I never could stand Beyawnce and I watched her do the same act she's been doing for 20+ years. Hell I'd even watch the reincarnate of Lawrence Welk and I'm far from a 50 y/o white dude. Well I'm not a white dude. All I care about is a well played game that isn't dictated by the officiating crew and musing about a few new commercials. jmho
  3. I suppose if he were able to find any team desperate enough to sign him, then he would prefer a team with a chance to make the post season. Who knows what goes through these older/retired players' minds.
  4. https://start.att.net/news/read/category/sports/article/thescore-chad_johnson_willing_to_sign_with_eagles_for_free-rthescore I can't decide whether to take this seriously or not. Either way, it provided a well needed laugh after this past week's games.
  5. As infuriating as it is, some teams will play down to their opponents level and play up to others. Just when you think (whatever your fave team is) they have this game in the bag, they'll end up playing like some type of junior varsity high school football team and you're tearing your hair out by game's end.
  6. Tori Kelly an American Idol contestant that was eliminated during the Hollywood rounds when she was 16.
  7. Pass rush. Pass Rush. PASS RUSH. Cris Collinsworth is going to have me grinding my teeth down to the gums by mid season if he cannot learn to pronounce pass rush. Gah! Two obvious offensive holds for the Packers right in front of Rodgers shown during replays in the fourth, but somehow the refs couldn't see them. (insert eyeroll) Can Carrie Underwood take a season or twelve off from performing the theme song to SNF? Pretty please.
  8. Hannahlei may have picked up votes from last week, but it's been Jensen since the top 10; maybe before. It's always been my belief that the judges' critiques go the way the votes go and anyone/everyone should know by now that Nigel is privy to the results/votes. ymmv
  9. If Hannahlei doesn't win, then this finale will be a travesty imho. Of course, it's more than obvious that the judges (via the producers) are all about a Jensen win. Jensen who still dances heavy no matter what genre (including her own). Slavik and Gennessy were put through as fodder and had to be slightly steamrolled the last two weeks (mostly Slavik) to keep them from claiming the prize. They are both still horrible at hip hop. No natural rhythm or bounce. It was all too loose and flailing about imo. Slavik also has no hip movement whatsoever. He's a bboy (breakdancer) and not a hip hop artist. Although he's had the same technical issues all season long but the judges decided to point them out last week and tonight. Surprise surprise! Not! That leaves Hannahlei. Technically the most proficient of the four but as a poster pointed out she's not very good at emoting. That can be worked on maybe easier than technique (I'm not a trained dancer so someone who is can correct me if I'm wrong). She could have ridden the rhythm more in her hip hop with Fik Shun though. Please stop with the props in the hip hop routines choreographers please. I didn't vote last week but did give all my votes to Hannahlei (hopefully not in vain) cause I don't want another Melanie Moore type of winner this year since all my faves were voted out. Did Melanie lose weight? I wasn't a fan of her but she does look great physically. Most uninspired top four in quite a while. ymmv
  10. I wish I could give this quote a million likes for the mere mention of past competitors. Oh how I miss them as well as actual critiques. Heck, even Dan Karaty (ugh!) would give technical critiques after a performance. Now it's all fluff and outright favoritism. Could it be anymore obvious that the show wants Gennesy, Slavic, Jensen, and ? as the final four? Not quite sure as to who the second male is the preferred finalist. I don't care and haven't cared who wins this show anymore. I just want to enjoy the performances each and every week without the interference of TPTB. ymmv
  11. Tonight's episode was sponsored by the letter H for hyperbole. What was with all the over praise for the performances? At least Twitch was more subdued with his critiques tonight versus last week. As another post above mentioned there were lots of bobbles and out of sync portions yet the standing O's and OTT praise for partner chemistry and storytelling that I was ready to throw my flip flop at my tv screen. (no tv's were harmed during tonight's episode) I get the judges (producers) have an agenda but they're taking all the fun out of the show for me. Imho no dance tonight was flawless. I don't mind a misstep here and there, but don't try to convince me the viewer that any of the performances tonight deserved a standing O. I've seen every episode of this show and I've seen quite a few SO dances whether I liked/loved the dancers but not tonight. Gah! This fun little summer show has me incoherently rambling on a message board lol. Obviously they didn't want to break up the partners or Cole should have went home before Evan imo. Also, Nigel I don't believe you for a minute that Chelsea volunteered to tap last week. More like voluntold. Where was the nitpicking in the Step routine like last week's tap? It came across as more of a cheer routine than an actual step. I felt secondhand embarrassment for the choreographer for "dumbing down" the choreography. I hope Magda and Darius are both able to survive next week's bottom four. I enjoy their dancing the most. Of course older female ballroom dancers (over 25?) don't normally fare well on this show.
  12. Could the judges be any more obvious with their faves? They're not even cleverly trying to hide it like they normally do. How big was Twitch's paycheck for him to become a parrot for TPTB? Gennesy's (sp) hip hop was not good nor great unless suburban dance recital is the measurement for good/great hip hop these days. It was lazy, had no natural rhythm/flow to it, and there were points she and Slavic were not in sync. Yet that garnered a standing ovation. Goodbye Chelsea. We hardly knew you. I'm beyond tired of Travis Wall already and the lives just started.
  13. I feel absolutely stabby every time she spins around with the colored rings. Just please stop!
  14. http://start.att.net/player/category/entertainment/article/people-what_we_did_was_a_scam_the_apprentice_creators_giv-vtime Does anyone know if there's any validity to this article? If this is posted in the wrong forum I will delete it.
  15. jhlipton I don't know either way about the validity of that video, but I truly don't and never will believe any reality show is 100% authentic.
  16. Thank you for this visual. I will be giggling like a 12 year old school girl all day.
  17. I feel like I should be rewarded for watching the whole performance.
  18. The eliminations must have affected people in the worst way when no one is mentioning that horrible performance by Big Boi and Adam. Woof!
  19. Jesse got to me with that song Tenn Whiskey. It is actually one of my ringtones. I didn't vote though. I can't for the life of me remember my username or password for Twitter and have no desire to reset them. I truly don't believe order of performance makes any difference in who gets the save, but that's just me. It's not like the performances are an hour to two hours apart. Now back when I used to vote in the Twitter save I always voted for my fave; performance be damned. I bet Jesse was probably fourth in votes because a lot of people (like me) would rather just vote in the simplest way possible. I've never bought a download and probably never will. I've also never truly cared which team my fave contestants were on either. I'll be watching next week still without a dog in the fight. Good luck to your faves.
  20. I agree that stage presence can learned to a certain extent. During season 4 of Idol I was a major Bo Bice fan and wanted to hate everything Carrie did on stage. Yes I was that petty back then lol. Carrie won and I was not a happy camper, but I actually bought her cd and didn't even consider buying Bo's after hearing a couple of songs from it. I still think Carrie is an awful performer on the stage (she always looks like she's trying to put out a cigarette butt or kill a few bugs with that squat with the legs open move, but I cannot deny her singing talent. ymmv
  21. All that last night's performances proved to me is that I never really had a dog in this fight. I mildly enjoyed a few performances here and there, but I mostly geared toward who I wanted eliminated rather than saved. I honestly don't care who wins so good luck to all the contestants. I'm guessing this is Lauren's to lose. She's the only one I can see having an actual career where people outside of The Voice watchers may end up becoming a fan. She's like a Carrie Underwood during her time on Idol. Boring performer but rarely hitting a bad note. She sings within a genre where it will be more willing to accept from a competitive reality show (good luck getting radio air time vs country male singers). I wonder if she'd be willing to go country/pop. I cannot even tell what genre Chris Blue veers toward because I've only watched one performance of his. Whenever Carson announces the song and it is some tired old chestnut, I immediately leave the room. I wasn't as impressed with his 24k performance as others. I was on the Hunter train until someone here mentioned how he never enunciates. Once I heard it for the first time last week, I lost interest. TSoul (see Chris Blue). The rest are meh with exception to Jesse. As a poster above mentioned he has a narrow fan base and doesn't have a chance in hell of winning this show no matter what his coach says. I'm watching tonight with no one to cheer on to the finale. Anyway, good look again to all the contestants.
  22. Whew! Finally I've been put out of my misery. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
  23. For the life of me I cannot figure out how Lilli or TSoul have not graced the bottom two yet. Lilli had one week where she was "sick" and gave a less than mediocre performance, but what is her excuse for weeks prior and the current week. Imho she has never given a good (not great - oh please) vocal performance. She is flat out awful and with exception to a few bloggers, comments from other sites tend to agree. So who is voting for her (rhetorical) and why? This is generally another mediocre season and I'm having a hard time feigning interest from week to week. The finale is upon us and I can't name over three contestants from memory. I honestly would like to know what tweens/teens are interested in this show period. If there is a contestant that the majority of viewers don't tend to like and manages to survive week to week, I hardly doubt the young viewers are the ones keeping these contestants around no matter what medium is used to vote for them. People said the same for AI contestants. Viewers for The Voice and AI have skewed older for quite some time and if anyone is responsible for certain contestants hanging around week to week it is more than likely the older viewer (I'm included in this group as an older viewer that is) and not a handful of tweens/teens that may or may not be watching this declining show. jmho
  24. Wasn't the fire completely out when Nate arrived at the house?
