  1. Come sit by me, honey. I'm wondering who the hell she is screwing because she did NOT deserve that win. The fix is in, but it is not Eureka, it's Aquaria.
  2. This winning-by-default stuff is getting old. How many final rounds have actually been competitive this season? Maybe two?
  3. Man, I have been having a lot of stress lately and I had no idea how I needed some wanton destruction until I sat down to watch this show last night. That poor bot that got RIPPED IN HALF! I've never seen anyone beg the ref to stop that match before.
  4. The local station broke in with a weather warning just as they got to the reveal. How did they solve the case?
  5. I literally did a head smack just now when I read that. That would have been so awesome!
  6. It's not the talking to each other every day that bothers me, it's the seeming inability to function without the other person. I am biased; DH was in the military for 23 years, so he was often gone for weeks at a time and he often worked very long hours when he was home. Co-dependency like that just baffles me. You're a grown woman, Mrs. Dom; just suck it up and deal.
  7. We always called it the Walk of Dead Survivors.
  8. Me too. I started when Fred was shaving Tom, bawled intermittently throughout the whole episode, and teared up again while reading the recap. Totally drained now.
  9. They sound like the bathroom signs in a raunchy bar.
  10. When I first saw the mask, I was really, really hoping she was doing a reverse mermaid -- fish on the top and girl on the bottom. Having the head and tail with a human torso was just weird.
  11. If she'd have kept it on, maybe she could have hidden her mouth with it and disguised that fact that she only knew the chorus. I think I would have liked it better if the wheelchairs were decorated in some way? Each queen could have made the chair part of her look. As it was, they just looked sad and clinical.
  12. I liked this one a bit better, but I feel like I am getting whiplash from the obviously out-of-order episodes. It really messes with the continuity. The fact that the weaker episodes that have been show so far were filmed later than this one does not bode well.
  13. That happened to my aunt; according to my mom, the nurse would not let her push because they were waiting for the doctor. My cousin was born profoundly brain damaged and spent her life in an institution. I would have thought even in the late 40s/early 50s they would have known better.
  14. I've had some in a dried fruit mix and they are mouth-puckeringly sour. Absolutely the sourest fruit I have ever tasted. I don't there is enough sugar in the world to counteract that sourness. And, I'm going to be pedantic here, golden berries are CAPE gooseberries, which is an entirely different fruit from gooseberries. Regular gooseberries would have been easier to work with.
  15. While it may be based on Terra Incognito's experiences, it is clearly labeled as a novel. The events depicted may or may not have actually happened.
  16. That really sucked. It appeared to me that Fuad had the better blade; his handle just let him down. I hope he gets the chance to come back and compete again.
  17. I've seen them done both ways. You tend to see the piped in ones more, but I've seen the split ones as well as split cream puffs/profiteroles. It may be a regional thing.
  18. To skip the commercials, but mainly because I have very, very high standards for this show. I was one of those that wore out the original concept album; it paid a large part in my personal faith journey and I was concerned they would not do it justice. Over all, I am satisfied, despite John Legend's weaknesses and the minor lyrical changes. He looked like an audience member to me, but I could be wrong. He was enraptured. Yes! Him!
  19. The DELIGHT on that one guy's face in the audience shot during Herod's number!
  20. I think the problem I am having with Legend is that, even when he is not smiling, he looks faintly amused. It's just his face. He just has that cute mischievous baby face. Now that someone mentioned that he may have a cold/flu, I think I can really hear it in Gethsemane. He really has done better than I expected vocally.
  21. I feel like he has the voice (I was pleasantly surprised), but not the presence. But I do not consider Jesus the main character of this show anyway; for me, it's all about Judas. I might have agreed with you 10 years ago; I saw David Tennant in Hamlet at Stratford-Upon-Avon and really did not like it; I wanted my Shakespeare, you know, Shakesepearean. But I have seen LOT of theater in the last 10 years (it helps that one of my kids is a costume tech at one of the US's most prominent Shakespeare companies) and I have come to appreciate the modern staging and costuming. I feel like it brings a freshness and relevance to the shows that increases my enjoyment and adds new dimensions to the works. I'm not saying everyone should agree with me; just trying to express that I used to be unnerved and unsettled by this type of staging, but now I really like it. (Watching this the day after) Not terribly impressed with Legend kicking out the money lenders. It's more like he was telling the kids to get off of his lawn.
  22. I really want to like this, because, Alan Cumming, but I am finding the plots really thin. I'll give it a couple more weeks, but I suspect this one will not be in for the long haul.
  23. Finally got to sit down and watch the men's final. DAMN, was that last flight painful! Poor Jin! I'm glad Chen was able to skate a good program and not win by virtue of being the best of the worst. They really need to re-think holding worlds in the same year as the Olympics. It just seems like too much.
