  1. It is my understanding that "high functioning" refers to intellectual ability, not social ability or pragmatic living skills, in regards to the term "high functioning autism." I figured Lim and Melendez would break up eventually, and I hope they can go back to what they were before this romance started -- friends and colleagues who respect and support each other. I think there is more potential for both of them, especially him, apart, in terms of story lines. I would like to see him connect with Claire, I like them together although I don't need them to be a couple.
  2. I recall an episode of House when a dying girl was lamenting the fact that she might die without ever having been kissed, so Chase kissed her. It was the same dilemma -- kinda cringeworthy and wrong, but also kind of a heartfelt attempt to be kind. Generates discussion, that's for sure.
  3. The writing seems so shallow, they just jump to conclusions all the time, and it's not even great logic. If it weren't for Kasie, they wouldn't have solved the crime. I was super annoyed when Vance played the heavy and insisted they solve the crime quickly so Sec Nav wouldn't get mad. What is the purpose of saying that kind of stuff? Solving crimes takes time, unless you don't care if you've got the right guy. I didn't like it when Torres and Bishop broke into the woman's apartment and accused her of being a murderer, and then when she figured out she might be the target, Torres still looked at her like it was all her fault and Bishop failed to say something professional like that is one of the possibilities, since they hadn't progressed very far in their detecting. I keep waiting for the show to tick upwards, but it just hasn't been good. Sometimes it doesn't suck, and that's about the most I can say. And I have always loved this show -- still love the past seasons.
  4. Or maybe have chosen to go to a different restaurant.
  5. Not much to say here, I'm in agreement with everything above. The pig scene took me back to the days of Bones and corpse discovery, and that's not something I expect on NCIS. I skipped through the Bishop and Torres parts, I don't care for it and don't want a relationship between them. Bishop went from happily married to divorced, happily in love to having the guy killed, and now she's playing footsie with a colleague? It doesn't work for me. This situation brings both characters down. I knew when Gibbs got the explosives and the book that he was doing something for the kid. Definitely the best part of the episode.
  6. I saw an older episode the other night, and it must have been when Vance first became director. There was a kid accused of murdering his military father, and Vance and his cohorts wanted Gibbs to get a confession out of him. Gibbs, of course, looked deep into the young man's heart and realized that he wasn't guilty, and a good thing, too, since he really didn't do it. It was appalling, though, how Vance acted. He slammed an ax (the presumed murder weapon) down on the table right in front of the kid to scare him. I don't recall Vance being so uncool, but then again maybe that's why he still isn't my favorite to this day.
  7. So few comments...this is just sad. I've been a loyal fan for years, too, and while I don't want to see the show end, it's not much fun watching it limp along. Some sort of energy is missing in the show, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I liked having both psychologists working on validating hypnosis (particularly since it led to the solving of the crime, because if it hadn't, it would have been rather pointless), but I thought using the technique on Torres and letting Bishop watch was unprofessional. I liked Gibbs' kindness to the neighbor boy and his mom. That's one of the aspects of the show I've always liked -- when Gibbs shows how offering kindness to someone is so easy and it could mean much more than you would ever think.
  8. The ending of the episode reminded me of the first episode(s) of the show, when Claire and Jared were going at it at work. Claire wanted to keep it physical without emotions, although she eventually regretted that when he left. Earlier when talking to her mother, she said she hadn't wanted to rush into having sex because she wanted it to matter. Seems like they can't quite decide who Claire really is.
  9. Same! The old team used to bicker but these guys just whine. They don't strike me as competent agents at all. When Sloan first came on, I figured they would pair her off with Gibbs because each would be the one person the other would open up and talk to, but that's not happening and I agree Gibbs looks too old for it now.
  10. Finally watched, and this scene struck a false note with me. Even though I had read about it, it caught me off guard because who would ever think when asking Gibbs if he'd give anything to see his daughter again, that he'd be thinking of anyone except Kelly? I think Ziva is crazy. I have a bad feeling about the guy who gave her the pills. I think something is seriously off with her. I have always liked the character, but not in this episode. And the rest of the team? They were pathetic puppies, all of them.
  11. This is the first time I've ever read the posts before watching the episode, but after reading I have no regrets. I did read a review of the episode and was wondering about the scene where Ziva was taking anxiety meds. Any chance that she's hallucinating? From the perspective of someone who hasn't watched, this all seems unbelievable.
  12. Once I got used to Aubrey, I liked him better than Sweets, but I didn't like his romance with the red-headed intern. She was annoying to me.
  13. I'll have to pay attention to that. I remember liking her hair longer much better; thought she looked too boyish when it was really short. I was watching season four when Cheyenne was addressing her drinking problem, and yes, her hair did look odd. It looks better later, but it was too something for awhile there.
  14. When I first started watching the show, I couldn't stand David. Someone in a post called him "unctuous," which was perfect. I didn't like all the tats, either, especially the spikes around his neck. His behavior made me cringe, at times. I must have started watching at some mid way or later point, because eventually he either calmed down or something because I started to not mind him, then like him. Now when I see the early episodes, he seems like a sweet kid in comparison to when I first watched. It would be interesting to know if the changes we see in the show are just him maturing or if they correlate with life events. Either way, I do like him now and I do like the show. I just hope he stays calm and carries on.
  15. Yeah, I didn't mean to make it sound like she had to end up with a man in order for her life to be fulfilling. I didn't intend to imply that at all. It's just that she never seemed to connect with anyone outside of her immediate family (perhaps because it's a TV show) on a permanent basis, and I would have liked to see her with someone/something more. Maybe someone who appreciated her and didn't take her for granted, like her family seemed to do. Some sense of a whole new possibility for her, so she's more than a "survivor."
  16. Such good stuff. I am enjoying watching the show again, although now I pick and choose the episodes and seasons. I never like the ones where House suffers too much. I started to watch the episode where Kuttner had died, but I couldn't watch it all the way through. I also skip a lot of the Tritter story arc.
  17. I honestly thought, for a moment in the final season, that when Barbara Jean got all excited about her career and was thinking of moving away, that maybe Reba and Brock would get back together. Sort of a full circle kind of thing. I guess I wanted to see Reba end up with someone, even if it was an older, wiser, more sensitive Brock. I was okay with Brock and Barbara Jean staying together, but there was no payoff for Reba being a good person all those seasons.
  18. I'll have to pay attention to that. I remember liking her hair longer much better; thought she looked too boyish when it was really short.
  19. It's been almost five years since you posted this, and it's still true today. I finally recorded and watched the two episodes of JAG that introduced Gibbs and company. They definitely set the stage -- Gibbs is good with kids, tough on Tony, stern with the woman agent, needed everywhere, both in the states and abroad, all in these two episodes. I enjoyed the early introduction to him. I have to say...it didn't leave me wanting to watch more of JAG. I've only seen a couple of episodes ever, so I never became acquainted with it, but it felt flat to me. Maybe the focus was on Gibbs and so the JAG characters had nothing to do, but the legal representation during Harm's case was laughable, to me, although maybe I've been watching too much Law & Order. Interesting to see Ducky hitting on the female agent and babbling on the witness stand. It was interesting to see the early Abby, too. All in all, an enjoyable introduction to NCIS.
  20. Okay, it was mean of Kyra, and it was dumb of Van, but honestly it was one of the funniest moments of the whole show, for me.
  21. In all honestly, you would probably never get the chance. I think the idea that appearing on Catfish is a boost to one's acting career is absolutely misguided, but then again it's the nature of a catfishee to be clueless. 😎
  22. Just saw the episode last night where the catfishee was not being entirely truthful to his girlfriend about his continued communication with the catfish, which included pertinent pics. The catfished revealed the pic sending, the catfishee denied it, and Nev was trying to get him to come clean by saying, "All guys do it," when Max interrupted -- "Time out here. I don't do that." A shining moment of decency and character on this show. Love Max and miss him, particularly this season.
  23. Okay, when Nev first started acting suspicious of Taylor, I figured she was legit because he's always wrong. I kind of liked her, a little. By the end, I thought she was ridiculous. Now, after letting some time go by, I think she did come on the show to get some acting exposure, but I think the whole thing was an act. I don't think she catfished anyone, I think she went along with whatever they told her to say just to get onscreen. I don't think she had any idea, though, how negatively she'd be portrayed. I know actors take on roles of villains and it's all part of the job, but I think nothing good for your career comes from being on Catfish, unless you are guaranteed to come off looking sympathetic.
  24. I figure she's probably stringing tons of guys along with the occasional text just to boost her ego and follower count. I wonder if she realizes just how unlikeable she came across in this episode. When Kaden said he's moving to California, I wondered if he plotted this whole thing to get some screen time. Perhaps he wants to be an actor or model.
