    Guest Starring Cookie

What if Cookie guest starred on an classic evening soap like Dynasty as Blake Carrington's and Dominique Devearoux's illegitimate half sister (their dad really got around!)? Cookie would and could smack down Alexis, Fallon, Krystle, Sammy Jo all at the same time.

I liked Drew Carey too. I never watched Grace Under Fire. If they have Empty Nest, I wonder if they'll get Golden Girls too?
  3. With the way they're writing Barbara, it wouldn't surprise me if they do. OR if they have Barbara turning tricks herself.
  4. Strangely enough a year ago, I was watching Family Affair and Jill Townsend was as the daughter of Mr. French's friend. I didn't recognize her initially, then I was like "Elizabeth!" Anyhow, this is from 2012: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/all-we-can-eat/post/poldark-wields-cookbook-for-diabetics/2012/03/08/gIQAzSFYzR_blog.html I love that he's a foodie.
  5. I'm completely in awe of the casting. I got the book on saturday before the snow-freezing rain-rain mess. I found it interesting that Paul Scott describes Sarah as being more like their father and Susan more like their mother. (which makes sense as the series progresses).
  6. I'm not happy with how he raised Hakeem, either.
  7. I thought that was creepy too. Initially I thought Dumbara would accidentally tell Ivy that Jim and Bullock went after her father and that Bullock shot him. But after this........I hope Dumbara "going to a dark place" isn't her becoming the boss of an under-age sex trafficking ring. That would be grosser than gross. Red Hood Gang: I loved them. When the red hood was introduced and a thug said something like "was I supposed to get one too", I knew it was going to be funny. And then when the short fat guy donned the hood and tried to jump up on the table, couldn't and needed the other thug to help him get on the table, it was funny (to me at least). And making the red hood a "cursed object" harkens to the old Friday the 13th: The Series show I used to watch in high school.
  8. What?????!!! A tag-team security case? I don't remember that one at all. BTW, to the tech-savvy folks-----PLEASE post a pic of Googly Eyes.
  9. IIRC, the plaintiff showed JJ an ad with the comforter on sale for $130 and said she showed it to dickhead, who told her to wait "a couple of days" for the comforter to return. So, dickhead screwed himself because if he paid her $130 so she could replace the comforter, she would have gone home, ordered a new comforter and not bothered to sue him for being a dickhead about the whole thing. As I wrote before, when I drop things off at the cleaners, my name, telephone number and the ticket number are on the cleaner's stub. My stub only has the ticket number. Dickhead's business probably isn't meticulous enough to document those things. If it had been, he would have been able to call the customer who mistakenly got the comforter. Telling the plaintiff to wait a couple of days is reasonable, imo, because that "couple of days" gives dickhead time to track down the comforter-----IF dickhead had the documentation to begin with. But he didn't and relied on the customer returning the comforter and he told the plaintiff to wait a "couple of days" more. Dickhead strategy of keeping his fingers crossed and hoping for the best is just bad business. Then dickhead had the nerve to file a counterclaim of harassment. Also, I can totally see the customer not returning the comforter in a "couple of days" and a "couple of days" after that. That person probably had the comforter cleaned and stored it away without removing it from the bag.

    Guest Starring Cookie

Cookie on "Celebrity Apprentice". Donald Trump: You're fired! Cookie: Kiss my azz!
  11. The library sent me a email that the Raj Quartet is ready for pick up! There are three scenes in the tv series that I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach on the re-watch: Daphne's attack, Hari's "questioning" by Merrick and Kasim's train trip. I'll have to see if the state library system has the sequel novel. Anyhow, a "new" episode is on this weekend for the DC Metro area.

Night Court.......I think the last time I watched that it was during it's initial must-see NBC run, lol.
  13. The $$$$$$$ is the reason why I'm learning to sew clothes, lol. Also, I like the fact that I can adjust or modify a pattern to what I want and what looks best on me. I would totally do Cookie's cape using fleece fabric (polar or microfleece) because fleece is easy to sew, doesn't require special washing/care methods and it comes in alot of patterns and colors. (I can totally see the cape in a black and white large hounds tooth print.) For Cookie's furs, you could use a coat pattern and faux fur. I haven't worked with faux fur, so I can't tell you how easy (or difficult) it would be.
  14. I'm getting into sewing clothes. Here's a Vogue pattern that's similar to Cookie's cape. http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8959-products-47839.php?page_id=265 If you substitute a standard notch collar or one of the other types of notch collars for the Peter Pan collar in the Vogue pattern and lengthen the arm slits, it will be pretty close to Cookie's. (Hmmmm, good excuse to go to the fabric store this weekend!)
  15. Since this is a soap, the chances are great that if they do get together, they'll almost immediately break up. But I don't want my Cookie getting mixed up with Lucious beyond this "ex's with benefits" thing. I want Cookie to move onward and upward to a man who won't break her heart (because we know Lucious would do that again, if given the chance.)
  16. Who says Cookie is angry? I think Cookie's reactions have been spot on since the first episode. I would do the same thing if I were her (and I'm not angry and I'm not a black woman either!) I love Cookie. She's one of the best female soap characters ever. Whoa! If Cookie and Lucious had a daughter.... I think she would have been a total Daddy's girl and a spoilt rotten Daddy's girl. She might not get along with Cookie (abandonment issues and Freud's pesky Electra complex). And I don't think she would get along with Anika either.
  17. Welcome to our world! :-) This is the first Fox show I've really watched since X-Files and Firefly. My take on Lucious suddenly become dad was more of a "yes, my son got a woman pregnant. He's not as gay as I thought!" thing than "I love you unconditionally" thing. But I did like the fact that Lucious offered to have her live with him. Good grandpa!
  18. one of the repeat episodes last night was a woman suing her sister. They got into a fight (next door neighbors broke up the fight) and defendant sister keyed plaintiff sister's car. While defendant sister was testifying (some stuff about Mom favoring plaintiff more than her, etc.), plaintiff and the witness were snickering like school girls at everything she said. JJ asked the witness who she was. Witness admits she is their mother. JJ asks why she thinks the other daughter's testimony is funny and why is she laughing. Mother says she doesn't think it was funny and is smiling while she says it. I sincerely hoped this family was scamming JJ because otherwise, it was one of the more dysfunctional families ever (and that's saying alot!)
  19. I'm not on the Lookie ship at all. I hope Cookie dumps him as coldly as he dumped her----send Jamal into his office to tell him that Cookie doesn't want to see him again.
  20. Count me in too! (It wouldn't be unheard of for the PTB to read this or any similar forum. Back in the TWoP days, actors, writers, producers used to read the forums and even participate in them.)
  21. I guess they don't watch The Maury Show. I would have had a paternity test done ASAP (but if another Lyons is the father...) And it looked so "got it at the Mall" cheap too. I must be old, but if I got a "gift" like that from Mr. Milz, I'd tell him to exchange it for something I can wear, not something that wears me. I'm confused about that too. Did Jamal keep his marriage a secret from Michael? Regarding Andre's reaction and the family's reactions to Lucious's health problem---totally believable. I've worked in hospitals, clinics and private doctor's offices. The spectrum of emotions when the family gets "bad news" is very wide and it changes. I've seen the yelling, angry family member either stay that way or become the calm collected one in the days that follow. Vice versa. I hope Elle learns what happened and kicks Annika's azz. BTW, did the security guy see it? Because it looked like he was watching everyone there. Cookie and Lucious: I can only hope that Cookie leads him on and dumps him. I'd rather have Cookie with that security guy than with Lucious.
  22. I think JJ awarded the full price because she thought the defendant was being a dickhead about the whole thing. Also she said he had a counterclaim of harassment; I guess that ticked her off too.
