  1. The more I look at this picture the more I feel like Jeremy is thinking, be better than pizza and In 'N Out Burger, we live in LA now, all traces of Duggar lifestyle should be long behind us.
  2. The difference being Jinger is seemingly quite satisfied with the direction of her new headship. Jill seems to be floundering and confused that she "followed all the rules" AND stayed close to home in a place God approves of and things didn't work out the way she expected. It has to be very confusing that Derrick is at odds with JB and she's not able to kick back the way Michelle has for decades. And she doesn't seem to have access to the help of some of the kids she spent her youth raising.
  3. And not that long ago many thought the fact she yearned for life in the city meant she was the one destined to break free. More like presenting the image of big city living is her be all/end all. Joy seems fully satisfied with what she has, Jessa seems to be pretty fulfilled by her children, Jinger seems to crave the idea of being a city style influencer, Jana seems resistant to settling on a mate yet and Jill seems to finally have reached the conclusion she's going to have to undertake a mission seeking something to fulfill her somehow because Ma and Pa's script didn't work out like she was told it would
  4. Seems likely that growing up her expectation was that when she was the mom there would be people handling most of the load for her -- a grandmother on standby to do laundry and other chores, along with her own daughters to carry the load as she did growing up.
  5. I think Jill is staging things for SM, as Jill understands it. She was raised in an ever expanding household mostly maintained by child labor, untrained child labor who didn't have a concept of housekeeping skills or food that strayed far from cans, jars, boxes, tater tots and pickles. I think they are a good match and well suited to each other in large part because of it. I think the ability to participate in things that interest her makes Joy very happy.
  6. I could totally see Joy challenging the idea of how she had to dress and what her jurisdictions were being a "struggle with her faith" in the TTH. I see signs that she and Austin are growing together and he's not bothered by her interest in many tasks usually reserved for the menfolk.
  7. Ah yes, her crown and glory explanation. To my mind it still begs the explanation, whose glory?
  8. The haircut looks great. It also reminds me something that struck me about the finale episode -- Mary Duggar quite clearly availed herself of decent hairstyling for decades and did not walk around with 50 pounds of hair on her head. JB seemed to feel his mother led a fine example of a godly life and indicates he fully expects to see her again in heaven. Yet it's not good enough for his wife and daughters to wear their hair as they choose?
  9. I bet there are some that would have done it for the TV exposure. Initially the move to LA ramped up the freebie grab in a pretty big way. JB did let us know that there is likely "something cooking". We'll all have to tune back in to find out what.
  10. Why do such a drastic change to your hair in Laredo when you're about to live in LA, where I'm sure the availability of top notch salons is much more plentiful?
  11. I truly think he does this because he is genuinely besotted with Abbie and feels he has an obligation to make that known in his role as a good husband. Look at the behavior of his primary role model, recognize that even at his age he's led an unbelievably sheltered existence as far as marriage relationships he's witnessed and the fact that he's grown up without movies or television. No doubt the spectre of Josh's shameful marital betrayal looms particularly dark and large for JD as well. It's hardly surprising hey, hey, hubba, hubba horndog is the only gear in his wheelhouse.
  12. I was appalled that specifically at the FAMILY viewing, not at the funeral, that several of the kids not only introduced themselves by name, but by number. That's what happens when the entire stock in trade is schilling being one of 19. Made it perfectly clear exactly how much they're all about family.
  13. Interesting how Kris just "happened" to come upon the idea of dressing up as one another out of desperation at the behavior on the trip -- yet they had such specific costumes and supplies handy, down to the very unusual choice Khloe wore to impersonate mom that was tailored for Khloe.
  14. So much to call out about the whole bunch -- which I think was the real point of the whole schtick. It wasn't really about being annoyed with one another, it's an attempt to respond to online criticisms that strike too close to home as if they're not bothered by them.
  15. I only hope Jessa was able to react and respond to what Josh did to her as she chose, expressing how she felt the way she chose. As with anyone who's been victimized that should be their decision and theirs alone.
  16. But she seemed pretty intent upon conveying to us she did indeed receive Bayalage, as well as informing those of us who are unsophisticated and distinctly not cosmopolitan what it is? Is this what it feels like to experience defrauding?
  17. Something I'd expect to be very unusual in a family that includes a constable, others with EMT training who should be familiar with first responder-type experiences.
  18. Pretty sure it's possible to dodge the drudgery and still qualify under a little known technicality if you just give up the purity of the alliteration just a pinch. Sweet Jinger's Jingle Cookies for Jesus or Jinger's Sweet Jingle Cookies for Jesus can be baked by a "sweet" friend using Jinger's recipe, thus still qualifying as authentic enough to satisfy/dupe the superfans.
  19. That's a horrific possibility to consider.
  20. The question is, a glory for whom? Is it about self glorification? Is it about glorifying or gratifying your headship in some way? I'd like to hear her thoughts about the fact that the men whose stories are told in the books of the Bible were routinely known to wear long hair as well, yet the men of the Duggar clan do not. I'd also like a ruling on whether or not the men of the clan should all sport full beards if all those men they diligently read about in the Bible did. God only cares about how females look and present themselves?
  21. Every time I see a picture of this little one it's like he's smiling with his whole body. If his expression is at all an indicator of his personality he must be a joy to be around.
  22. IMO just because Kim has a job "documenting" her life for the cameras doesn't mean her spouse's life needs to be documented in full detail, particularly when he is not part of the cast of the show. If the spouse was battling cancer I wouldn't expect to be privy to intense pain that keeps them awake nights, inability to keep food down after chemo, extreme fear and anxiety about upcoming surgery or testing results.
  23. On the recent episode where they met to discuss getting involved and using their platform to push for environmental clean up of the chemical and heavy metals, particularly the scenes filmed in the privacy of whatever home they were in Kourtney was seen engrossed in her phone and at one point responded like a kid called out in class by their teacher for not paying attention. This cause should have ticked all the boxes for her curated public image, yet interestingly enough it was Kim who was laser focused and engaged on what the problem was and why it was important for them to get involved. I've never found acting to be a skill Kim can credibly claim on her CV, yet I genuinely believed she was concerned and alarmed about the danger this contamination presents. Frankly I didn't and don't believe Kourtney gives two ****s. I also noticed that a month or so ago it was Scott who was the voice of reason about his kids needing boundaries, limits and consequences, recognizing not having those as a kid did him zero favors. Hopefully Scott has equally enlightened and matured views regarding respect, empathy for others and the like being key values he wants his kids to possess.
  24. Fake? Nah. They clearly have a ninja camera crew who had the surveillance vehicle Kim and Khloe "borrowed" to trail Kourtney ready within seconds so they were able to merely hop in and follow without losing sight of her.
  25. I have no idea whether she does or doesn't. I simply hope that she would and if nothing else by osmosis begin to bring some of this relaxed, engaged and fun spirit to parenting and educating her boys -- eliciting some genuine expressions of delight beyond the forced wide eyed, open mouth yays.
