  1. It's too bad Felicia destroyed her relationship with Bowie a million years ago, since they should be working to take each other to the end. (I honestly don't know who would win in that scenario, but the only person either of them could beat is the other one, though Felicia is way too deluded to see that.) In fairness to Cirie, given how absurdly erratic Felicia has been just this week (and really throughout the whole game), I'm not sure Cirie ever had the ability to control her. Cirie's instincts were right to let Felicia go when she was nominated against Izzy, but Jared totally blew up her game. As an aside, anyone who didn't get to see Cirie grab a hold of the steering wheel on that bus Felicia was driving over her earlier this week, throw Felicia out its window, and then proceed to run Felicia over with it should check out the clips from two nights ago (complete with spontaneous cover stories, swearing on bibles, and hiding out near bathrooms) -- it was hilarious and a master class.
  2. And now they're ... all playing bumper pool? What the hell just happened? lol. It goes without saying, but Felicia is a hilariously bad player. (Of Big Brother, but maybe also bumper pool.)
  3. I had the feeds on in the background, and he definitely told Cirie (after she sufficiently buttered him up by getting him to talk about his family and telling him how they're all playing for him this week lol).
  4. Never say never in this season's house, but I really don't see any universe where that scenario would happen. Matt's name literally hasn't come up at all as a backdoor option, and I don't see how she could convincingly sell that move to the others. If she forced them to make that choice, I think she'd be seen as totally untrustworthy by everyone and would be walking out the door next week. ETA: If she doesn't win the veto, I think she ends up in between the proverbial rock and a hard place (given her stated desire to avoid making a big move), but my sympathy for her is limited. Being the HOH didn't happen to her -- she went for it and got it -- at a time when maybe that wasn't such a great move for her game. If she couldn't read that the other players weren't down for a low-key week, I have to think that's on her.
  5. Yep, I don't where the confusion came from. I stand by my initial reporting and let the fireworks begin lol.
  6. America, Matt, and Jag were drawn to play for the veto, and I'm pretty sure they've all suggested that they'll use it. Unless Bowie wins, she'll probably have to pick a side and this week will get very interesting. (ETA: To add to the "fun" -- all three backdoor targets aren't playing.)
  7. I agree that Michael's timing is problematic, but I think you're burying the lede here.
  8. That sounds about right to me. As HighQueenEB said, it's tough to watch, but worth it. In other news, Terrance was just complaining to Kyle about how Monte is still working with Michael while Monte was literally in the next room trying to convince Taylor to let him take a shot at Michael. Another A+ read on the house from Terrance.
  9. Those pictures of Joseph look straight out of a hostage video lol. Which he kind of is, I guess. I watched the nonstop apology tour last night. Totally one-note on Kyle's end, as others have mentioned, though it's worth watching his conversations with Taylor (who put on a masterclass in extending graciousness to someone who doesn't deserve it) and Monte (whose conversation with Kyle got very emotional) if you didn't catch them, just to hear their perspectives when they were one-on-one with him. After watching Kyle's conversation with Monte (where both participants were speaking through tears nearly the entire time), I can believe that Kyle is genuinely sorry that he hurt Monte, at least. But I'm more skeptical regarding whether he will (or can) dig deeper to truly understand how he hurt him, and whether he's willing to truly work on that part of himself.
  10. For what it's worth, he is a genuinely nice guy. (And it's wild to watch someone I know play this game.)
  11. Totally agree. It's beyond jarring to compare Daenerys's characterization in 7x06 and 7x07--deciding to forego her assault on King's Landing and pledging her forces to fight the war against the undead--with her smirking, cocksure, almost arrogant characterization as she arrives in Winterfell in 8x01, the very next episode, without the benefit of a two-year gap. The audience would be forgiven for literally getting whiplash.
  12. Oy, indeed! At least now we know. Maybe this most recent episode will encourage everyone to step back and take a deep breath when evaluating new information about next season, and to refrain from posting definitive statements based on hearsay. We really need a surprise trailer to give us something more definitive to discuss, but I'm not holding my breath.
  13. It's perhaps a little shocking, since according to this data-driven article from the Washington Post (and commentary on the report by NBC), you're much more likely to see violent behavior at a Chargers, Giants, Jets, Raiders, or Steelers game. And, of course, the fan in question was identified, banned from Foxboro, and referred for criminal prosecution (as he should be).
  14. Also, the New York Times has a great roundup of the reviews for the reboot/revival/continuation/whatever. They're almost uniformly positive, but not without substantial critiques, as I would expect. The merging of the doppelganger's face with Bob's features in the mirror totally spooked me (and felt like 'old-style' Twin Peaks). I liked that it was subtler than just superimposing Frank Silva's face onto Kyle MacLachlan's, the way they used to do it. In addition to being even more creepy, it felt ... respectful, maybe, to Silva? (I can't explain it well.) At any rate, the scene where the doppelganger makes his phone call gave me my requisite Lynchian nightmare last night. I think the last time was Mulholland Drive... On rewatch I caught the 'backward blink' from Dougie's son. No idea what that means (if it means anything at all). Peggy Lipton is *still* a knockout. Madchen Amick looked gorgeous as well, and as another poster mentioned, much less harsh than she does on Riverdale (which I suspect is a conscious choice by hair and makeup, given the very different character she plays there).
  15. "Torn apart" is a kind term, considering the devastating New York Times article yesterday, stating that scientists from MIT, University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Boston College, and Bowdoin all agree that the Patriots didn't deflate the footballs. (The MIT researcher has a very compelling youtube video regarding what he believes actually happened.) I feel like anyone who still believes the "science" put forth in the Wells report after looking at what those (actual) scientists have to say is in climate-change-denier territory. In my view, it makes the whole ordeal looks even more absurd; the NFL is intent on asking the 2nd Circuit to enforce the collective bargaining agreement, which would allow the NFL to punish Brady for acts that several scientists at leading universities are now on record as saying didn't happen. It makes me think it will be an easy 'affirm' of the trial court decision by the appellate court. But who knows.
