I just cannot stress enough how much I love the Bridgertons' home scene. From Anthony slipping that request for an engagement ring among talks of staff and leases, Violet's bewilderment and asking for Benedict's assisst, to Hyacinth complimenting the debutantes and Anthony replying they all looked the same. It was just such ridiculous good fun. Kate really was crushed by what she heard Anthony say about his search for a wife. Watching again it's painfully clear that what she describes to Edwina as Edwina's perfect match is in fact what she desires for herself. And there she is tracking Anthony at the ball only to hear him stomp everything into the ground. It even makes me understand her quick departure from the ball. It's rude and dumb, but understandable and human that she wants to lick her wounds. Lady Danburry's beef with Newton is excellent. As is her attitude towards Kate. Oh, you've read Debrett's. How quaint. Now step aside and let the pro handler things. My love for Varley remains strong and deep.

I could pretty much quote you and sign my name. Yes about Colin, him in a nutshell, and Daphne just rocking this season. Also, I am quite fond of Benedict now even if his storyline was a snooze. He just comes off as a really good egg, trying to take care of his big brother. Oh, but that scene with Gregory in this episode. My heart. Also including Hyacinth was terrific. Even if they have once again managed to displace Francesca somewhere over the course od the season. I resented them making Mary so insignificant for much of the season but when it came her time to shine, boy did she come through. Holy hell, they really shocked me with not only Eloise uncovering Penelope but going so nuclear on them. I wrote in the first episode thread that theirs was like a love story and this episode seems to back it up. Not a fan of Edwina either. I tried to keep an open mind, but come on, it took Kate almost dying for her to forgive her. Girl, please. Thought the Queen DiD make me laugh with the comment about the prince. Poor dude. He seems perfectly nice, he's good looking and yet his aunt has to foist him off on debutantes? Life, man. Lastly and firstly and all the way through - Kate and Anthony. The casting and performances were just so excellent that it really bugs me that I feel I got too little of them in what is their season. I even get that it probably is a conscious choice to separate them from Daphne and Simon who got married early and got to know each other through being married, but still, I wanted so much more od them. Also, the wet shirt may have been Junior League Darcy. Anthony confession of love was Major League all the way. Here is my love, it is yours, I ask for nothing in return. I mean, just knock me over with a feather. Off to rewatch the best bits.

I don't know that they're friends as much as aquaintances. However, I don't think I'd be giving it this much thought if this episode didn't just go on and on about Edwina making her damn choice.

Benedict and Delacroix ended things amicably last season. Hat off to your restraint. I binged it all, thought it is largely due to being home sick. It dropped perfectly today.

Plus, Colin is acting like such a ponce. If nothing else Penelope still making calf eyes at him truly proves the old addage. Love IS blind. And deaf in this case as well.

Excuse me, but how the fuck would Mondrich get an invite to a wedding organized by the Queen? Among many bonkers things this takes the cake.

I am shocked to the bones to find myself in tune with Daphne this season. Thanks you, Your Grace, for pointing out that Edwina is always perfect and people aren't like that. Especially people suited for your lot. Anthony I just want to smack upside the head. You nearly fell apart for Kate and then you propose to her sister? I get these feelings are the big bad wolf for you, but anyone else would be a better choice of a getaway driver. Their chemistry is lit and I dissprove of this engagement wholeheartedly. And after this episode provide excellent Kate and Anthony interactions. I'm miffed is what I am. Colin and Phillip made me laugh becoming dorky BFFs on the spot. Then Colin had to go and ruin it just when I thought je was growing up. Maybe Marina seemed put off because of the discomfort od your camaraderie? She seemed perfectly happy with her lige until then. Jesus Christ, Eloise, there's a world between being a simp and acting like you were raised by wolves. Try to walk in it.

Those flashback scenes really were a good choice to see what poor Anthony was dealing with. But man alive I wanted to kick every man in that world in the balls for how Violet was treated and overlooked while giving birth. Really excellent Daphne and Anthony scenes. I giggled when she assumed that Kate was Miss Edwina. She sees the lay of the land even if clearly nobody else does. She's also much kinder to Anthony than I'd expect given his comportment only a year earlier. I guess that Pall Mall win mellowed her some. Edwina is kind of a cypher really. Basically a perfect marriage prospect constructed by Kate. The first time she felt like a person was her losing it when Anthony didn't pop the question because she thought she'd messed up. Kudos to Pen for using Lady Whistledown to help and also for seeking an ally. Smart moves.

Do not tell me I'm the first? It was wonderful just seeing everything so bright and colorful again. I was a bit sceptical about that first meeting at dawn, but its was obviously done as a juxtaposition to Anthony being stressed to him suddenly relaxed and smiling. And it worked for me. Dude, Kate has got some gumption to go against Lady Danburry like that. The scene of hers I most enjoyed was when she told her the truth. It was great seeing her guard slipping and seeing how much is at stake. I actually like the backstory so far, the importance of Edwina being the one to marry and why Kate is so focused on her feels reasonable instead of martyr like. I also approve of aging her up to be near Anthony's age to separate her from the debutantes. While I felt the Bridgertons needed time to gel last season, they were terrific in all their group scenes. From Hyacinth egging Eloise on, Benedict mooing, but them swiftly rescuing her in the next instance, Violet's worry over Anthony, oh, and that goofy smile she had when Eloise stepped out of the room... I could just go on and on. Really, really great all around. Penelope and Eloise actually make a very decent love story. Eloise oćin particular was maddening for a long stretch of the episode but by the end they understood each other better and supported each other. Pen doing so without Eloise even realizing. So, who's going to have bigger beef with Newton, Anthony or Lady Danburry?
-
Eloise can be frustrating almost as if she were... a teenager. They can be pretty horrid, I know.

I really don't recall that old geezer being aware of Marina's pregnancy, just a lot of leering about childbearing hips or some such. Which certainly implied him wanting to rumple the sheets on a regular basis.

Anthony, how's that aneurysm going?

Season 2 review It's mostly positive (with some, or rather one thing that worries me), but its contains spoilers. Some lovely, non-spoilery bits:

Why is it still a week away?! Argh, I already know I won't get anything done next weekend.

Tour of the sets with Nicola and Claudia. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CbK285uFkj2/?utm_medium=copy_link Nicola kills me with her comment about Penelope's future drawing room. [Should she marry Colin] It's going to be a blend of the Bridgerton and Featherington. So it should be disgusting. 😂

I was so glad to see hints of the library scene. It's definitely one of my favorites and a crucial point im the relationship.

Wee! Two more weeks. I am so pumped for this. Yeah, Kate, you shouldn't stare. They're gonna scorch the season and the screens. Excellent opening and closure of the trailer. Violet just threw Anthony to the sharks and laughed in his face about it. I already like her better than last season.

I had trouble last season, but I'm fine with it now. Colin is very baby faced and Benedict has almost no lip.

New promo pics. I love the first one. Kate looks like she's seconds away from clobbering Anthony. https://www.instagram.com/p/Camw3VOrPGD/?utm_medium=copy_link The queen:

Ah, okay. I agree, him having more involvement this season would ne a good way to introduce his season next.

Who's Benjamin?

I had no idea that happens with already purchased books.
