This is purely and solely on me. I have a hard time with it even in fics written during and set in S2 when all the fic writers had to work on from the show was, 'my mother... is my mother'. I don't put that part on them. There's not much logical explanation for it from my end, it's just a gut reaction. It's not even that I'm so married to Donna's characterisation, I guess it's more how I perceive Felicity's character was shaped through their interactions.

I read about a half of the first chapter and it's a strange reading experience for me. It's season 3, but with Oliver still involved with QC in some way while Ray is there and dating Felicity? And I can't connect either characters' dialogues or Oliver's internal monologues with where they were in actual season 3. I imagine that's also when the fic was written so I can why it was an appealing counterpoint at that stage. Also, there's an implication of Donna being mean towards Felicity and I can't read even the best fic if it includes that. Not the most rational reasoning, but there you go.

Is it good? It's clearly a take on Susan Elizabeth Phillips' This Heart of Mine, which the writers acknowledge in tags. But if it's good, it's only 11 chapters long and I have time until To Sacrifice the Sun updates.

Ah, my confusion stems from the spoilers about I spoiler tagged in case this actually refers to a later episode. I still think it's hilarious that the two opposing vigilantes got together for a chat.

I haven't watched the episode and it's getting less likely I will by the minute, but these are all things that actually happened in show? What? Also, the Vigilante had a conversation with Mayor Queen at some point, and assistant to the deputy mayor was drafting a bill with the mayor? Again, what?

Does anyone remember a one shot set in Ivy Town where Oliver finds Felicity playing with a baby, after their neighbor dumps it on her when she has to take an older kid to the ER? I'm in the mood for sweet and I remember liking that one.

Wow. Where do I cast my wish to have Susan mixing mind altering drugs into each glass of vodka she hands him because that is some seriously flawed logic. Is he actually going to be shocked by the police going after him in the next episode? Can the impossible happen and this is actually thought out in advance and a plan to lure out Prometheus' mole in the police?

I've gone through the live thread. Was there anything pertinent to the upcoming episodes in 513 or can I completely skip and ignore it, and just tune in next week?

I've been feeling that This is Us hasn't been firing on all cyllinders for a few episodes now, and I still don't think the last one did so either, but that scene with Randall and Kevin was beautiful and I really enjoyed the parallel to the past, demonstrating both how Kevin is changing and how hard it is to break your habits with Randall. I also like these insights into their lives when they were teenagers. I am un-twinning you. Hee. I just hope that Kate's resolution from last week's cliffhanger was lame, but then it was a lame cliffhanger. At least it wasn't enraging. I do have to say I'm finding myself 'not not liking' Toby and Miguel to quote Kevin, so that's progress. As (almost) always, not enough Beth.
