  1. I love this one too! It seems way more polished (I think that's the right word) than most of the Hallmark movies.
  2. Absolutely agree. We lost my beautiful younger sister just before Christmas last year and it's been a revelation to me how differently various family members have coped with her death in the last months. Some of us, at least externally, have "moved on", others are still grieving to the point where I am concerned that they are going to need help as they seem to be slipping into depression. Mostly we're managing and I am proud to say none of us spend hours on FB posting memes about it - that said I shouldn't really say that because if that's how someone is coping well, that's how they're coping! Anyway bottom line there is no one right way to grieve. There just isn't.
  3. This movie is one of those exceptions to my usual rule of liking the book better than the movie. The movie is way better IMO and it's one I am looking forward to seeing again this year. It's the same with the first Mrs Miracle movie. It cut out a of extra characters and subplots and was more more interesting (well to me) than the book.
  4. I had another mitpick about this too - doing a very important Christmas themed shoot that ends on Christmas Eve - do they ever say if these photos are meant to be in the Christmas issue of the following year?? Maybe they did and I missed that but this has happened in a few other Christmas movies I've watched. Ad execs or whoever working on a big Christmas project right AT Christmas. That is not how it works!! On another topic - just watched Merry & Bright and wow, really like this one a lot. Definitely going into the rotation!
  5. I had pretty much stopped watching The Brady Bunch by the last season back in the day and catching some of these episodes in rerunland reminds me of why!
  6. I always tape the movies so I can fast forward through the boring stuff - anyway just watched Merry Matrimony - I thought it was a new one but it's actually from 2015. New to me though. I thought it was pretty good as these movies go. The leads could all act for one thing! Only thing I didn't like was the clumsily handled "misunderstanding" that kept the two main characters apart until the very end.
  7. Can't help wondering if that little tidbit will come up on The View when they're on!!
  8. It was like going back in time to what The View was like when it first came on.
  9. I missed something! Has Gina been written off the show?
  10. And it's not exactly edgy anymore! If it ever really was. I have a niece who is a nurse and she says nothing put her off getting a tattoo more than seeing how they look on the skin of the very elderly women she cares for. So sorry Meghan you're not special.
  11. They replayed this episode last night and it was a joy to watch. It was also the first time my husband had seen it and he is now a Young Sheldon convert 😊. So many funny moments but we both laughed out loud at Sheldon spying on Meemaw with the binoculars.
  12. Classic Meghan was when she talked about nepotism without acknowledging that if her last name wasn't McCain she wouldn't be on The View in the first place!
  13. He pre-dated the lottery season - do you remember now at what point the original Roseanne stopped being the original Roseanne and started being the story Roseanne supposedly wrote? For some reason I thought it was everything after Darlene's wedding when we're told Dan actually died. But it's confusing because stuff got changed that had to have happened before the wedding. Headache time! Anyway can't blame the powers that be for picking and choosing what to include in The Connors!
  14. Just saw the episode where Ray and Robert golf to see who gets Marie - not a favourite of mine but I just noticed a moment I hadn't registered before. Robert and Ray are leaving Marie's house after her guilt trip doesn't work and Robert, in responding to Marie, somehow manages to scooch down to her level to talk to her face to face. Very funny sight gag and very agile on his part 😁.
  15. Do you think this is the way she really thinks all the time or is this an act for the show? Because if she genuinely believes that her POV is the one and only way to think that's damn scary!
  16. Agreed. If they want this show to stick around for a few more years (and I'm betting they do!) then they really do need to scale back the screwing up and have some positives happen. I get totally that they're doing a show about people who can't catch a break but for most of us life isn't one unrelenting sequence of Bad Things Happening.
  17. Comparing the actions of a private citizen or even someone currently competing for the Democrat nod should not be in any way comparable to the actions of the current president of the United States. If that's the best Meghan can do in her efforts to deflect and defend then that's pretty pathetic.
  18. I think there's two factors here : on the show the reason is probably because Georgie is old enough to have learned that just because you think it doesn't mean you have to say it. In terms of a sitcom I suspect though the real reason is because kids can get away with being rude because it's considered cute or precocious or whatever while a teenager would come across as just nasty.
  19. The only other "house" I'd call memorable for me is the first apartment Mary lived in on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, At 12 I wanted that apartment! Loved everything about it. Now I'm thinking I wouldn't want to have a sofa bed but other than that I could deal.
  20. That's a good point! From the season where Sheldon proposes onward I've probably only seen most of those episodes once, twice at the most in a few cases (I did watch the wedding A LOT of times 🙂 ) and I bet you're right!
  21. The reruns we're getting right now have cycled around to the last couple of years and I'm finding the episodes very watchable. Not sure if that's because they are better than I remembered or because most of the sitcoms on now suck in comparison 😄.
  22. Seriously? Maybe the actual word "hate" isn't used but let's be real here almost without exception everyone posting in this thread is doing so because they hate-watch this show and its host. Which is fine, don't get it myself but we all have a hobby.
  23. Good episode. Absolutely agree that Gollum Sheldon was awesome. I liked the George and Missy storyline but felt that Sheldon trying to get his mind on something besides science was extremely well done. Loved him trying to do aerobics with Mee Maw - who looks fantastic BTW!
  24. Really, Abby? And if this had happened under Obama's watch - what then? Still "open to interpretation"? If someone is genuinely stupid, well, what can you do? But playing stupid because you don't want to admit that what you heard is what was said is another thing entirely.
