  1. I love Randy Travis and he can really sell it. He really does make you believe she's in the wrong for not forgiving him.
  2. I don't see anything on imdb about The Baker's Son but if it's new to Hallmark, it will be a while before it comes here to Canada. I too like Chad Michael Murray and look forward to his movie as one of the few summer movies that look interesting. I am currently watching Marrying Mr Darcy. I dislike Cindy Busby (popular opinion around here) and the movie premise is stupid but I have always been a fan of Ryan Paevey (unpopular opinion around here.) What is striking is that this movie is from 2018 but Paevey looks like a kid compared to his most recent movies. Like, waaaay younger and not just because his hair is greying now. Maybe the stress of being a Hallmark (wooden) leading man is getting to him. 😋 ETA: He keeps calling her 'Darling.' Does ANYONE under age 100 use that particular endearment?
  3. This is really good. Part 5 is up today. I guess we might as well forget about the original countdown since it's now been almost a month since it's been updated.
  4. I love Wedding Every Weekend and watch it a lot on Demand, including this past week. Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad for the win. Which is probably why Christmas At Starlight was my favourite Christmas movie last season. I notice Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith are in this weekend's movie, You Had Me at Aloha (what a dumb title.) I know they are a couple in When Calls The Heart and it has been a few years since they were in a Hallmark, but I like both of them so hopefully it will be good.
  5. Worse. I can appreciate the greatness of Gordie Howe, but we Habs fans have plenty of our own heroes, thank you very much! 🏒 😉
  6. Possibly. I am over 60 (though I personally find that hard to believe!) and we have a local channel here that carries all the old stuff like Gilligans Island, the Flying Nun, the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family and honestly, I loved that stuff as a kid but I can't watch any of it today, not even ironically. Not even to watch David Cassidy, who was my biggest crush for several years as a tween/teen. I don't know if I'm more tolerant of the genre at Christmastime or whether those movies are actually (marginally) better, but the Winter Experience, Valentines Day, Spring Fling, Tulip Season movies were all horrible this year and I don't hold out much hope for the summer movies because none of my favourite actors appear to be cast, so maybe the Christmas in July will at least replay some of the good movies from last year or past seasons.
  7. Thanks for the question, UYI. Here's my opinion, for what it's worth. I am relatively new to country music. Of course it was my Dad's favourite, which meant it was used at home to torture us. I started listening to 'Country Classics' with my Mom when I went to visit her and really came to appreciate a lot of the music and the artists. Still, it wasn't quite my thing. My son started listening to country when he was a teenager (mid '00s.) I liked a few of the artists, but still, not my thing. But I have since found my thing - the years between say, 1980 and 2005. I'm thinking Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, that kind of thing. I'm not sure if it's 80s or 90s, but I would certainly be willing to check in to see. Also this gives me an opportunity to check out more artists that I'm not familiar with.
  8. I am now watching A Forever Match. Maybe 20 minutes into it, and going to give it a pass. I don't think it's just me, but the reason I watch these movies is to see pretty people act out lame stories. Granted they're all better looking than I am, but there is not a telegenic person in this movie. Maybe that's shallow, but there it is. Perhaps if the story were in any way interesting I could get past it.
  9. Just saw this movie last night and have to agree with everything. I really, really liked the lead guy and found it hard to believe that Matt character was supposed to be a catch. Not a fan of the female lead but have certainly seen worse. The food was gorgeous (but why did she only take a picture of the appetizer and not the amazing banana-leaf wrapped main course if she was sending pics to the investor?) but I wouldn't have eaten any of it. My tastes are more like Matt's I guess.
  10. Loving the Bud Light Seltzer (?) commercials where someone makes a comment that the lemony taste is 'better than my Grandma's lemonade.' In both of the commercials I saw, Grandma overheard the comment and in one commercial, she takes a knitting needle to the kid's tires and in the other commercial, drops the grandchild's favourite family heirloom down the sink. 'Oops.'
  11. And that execrable Alfred Chu or Andrew Chu or whatever. Dislike him so much I won't even look up his name.
  12. I know, but I couldn't come up with his last name either. I can't believe I drew a blank on that. I feel bad if he's a fan of the show.
  13. Hell, Hallmark already did this movie in 2016, A Christmas To Remember, with Mira Sorvino and Cameron Mathison.
  14. Yikes. Yesterday while watching golf I saw a commercial for the Tommy John Hammock Pouch. 2 golf balls in a little v-shaped pouch, some pretty graphic description of how the underwear works so 'no swing, no cling, no chafing' and a happy (hot) guy swinging in a hammock. I guess his balls are double-hammocked.
  15. The bath bomb plot was exactly the same as every other plot. Plucky young entrepreneur owns a little boutique where everyone in the town comes to buy bath bombs (or bath salts but I couldn't see that she sold anything else,) because our heroine knows everything about scent and creates her own product and can come up with the perfect bath bomb for every person and every need. Somehow, this provides a living for her even though sales are so bad that the ex-boyfriend's mogul dad wants to shut down the store but the ex-boyfriend wants to be more in tune with the neighbourhood and the small businesses so he ends up learning the bath bomb trade and helps her create a scent. Then I lost the will to follow, but I do know there is a misunderstanding between them which was rectified, the mogul dad realizes he has all the money in the world but neither of his sons will talk to him, and everyone was smiling at the end. I assume there was also a kiss but I don't remember.
  16. No apologies required if it gets you free potato chips. They are starting to know me at the local Wendys because if I spend $11 on a combo and specifically say, 'no mayo on the sandwich' and get home to find mayo has ruined my sandwich, they are going to hear about it. Every time. None more depressing that hearing Rocket Man being sung as 'Rakuten.'
  17. OK, anything good on Hallmark tonight? Looks like we in Canada are going to get the Australia movie with Cindy Busby. Not looking forward to it based on comments here. Is there a way to determine if a movie is Hallmark, or just a clone? I watched a movie last night starring Jesse Hutch, who is in a lot of Hallmarks. It was called Love, Bubbles and Crystal Cove and was every bit as awful as it sounds like it might be, but it was not on W Network which is where the Hallmarks usually are. There was a bath bomb store that needed saving by the big-city ex-boyfriend who was sent home to develop the land after closing all the small businesses, but he ends up helping his ex-girlfriend store owner develop a new combo for a bath bomb that men will use. Also, the boyfriend's Dad, the mogul, has a come-to-Jesus moment at the end so I assume the store stays open and we all live happily ever after, but I had zoned out by that point so can't be sure. It can't just be me. Maybe it's because it's spring, or because it is decidedly not Christmas anymore, but I am starting to get pretty bored by these movies. In February, I would watch them 24/7, even movies I didn't particularly like, though there are still certain actors/actresses I will not watch (there was a Meghan Markle movie on this morning - no thanks.) The fact there are few comments on here anymore leads me to believe I am not the only one. Perhaps I'm growing. God knows, nobody I know in real life thinks I am sane for watching these.
  18. I would just like to restate this comment because I agree with every word of it. And his comments on TVLine didn't do him any favours either. Is he smarter than me? Perhaps. He certainly knows more Pennsylvania history than I do, but I might be able to kick his ass in a football category.
  19. Well I watched another of Tyler Hynes' movies yesterday evening before this one - I never remember the names because they all sound the same, it was the one with Taylor Cole where he is roped into the bachelor bake-off - and I particularly noticed his hair which was 100% normal, parted at the side but some volume at the top so it didn't look plastered to his head. So we know he has it in him. Perhaps you're right. Either that, or the hairstylist is his ex-girlfriend who is still harbouring some hard feelings.
  20. Yup. Nothing much to add, other than I don't remember ever seeing a Hallmark character as hateful as the father. Imagine treating your daughter like a pariah because she moved away, then trying to send her away when she wanted to stay to help. But hey, it's ok because he loves her and misses her. The Tyler Hynes hair watch was on and wow, what a mess! It had to be a wig, right? A dirty wig. Or dirty hair. The combo of being plastered to his head in the front, and sticking out like little wings at the back was pretty alarming.
  21. Maybe if you see me sitting outside or in a cool room, seemingly minding my own business, but my glasses are fogged up and sweat is pouring off my face. I don't think it's just me, but as I and my friends have entered menopause, it has become a topic of conversation. Sorry to say.
  22. Well, it appears that the way he addresses it in the interview is to wear a toque. Probably a good idea. But I'm wondering if he forgot there was a camera on him, or he just thinks it's ok to suck on a toothpick while talking, taking it out of his mouth and waving it around then putting it back in his mouth? Ugh. I fast-forwarded through most of the interview but on one of the stops, I did hear Lacey Chabert say, '(character) is a bit neurotic.' Great, can't wait! The good news is that it appears we will see this movie tonight in Canada instead of the usual one week delay, so I guess we'll all meet back here tonight or tomorrow to discuss.
  23. OK, wooden acting aside, Christopher Russell seems to find a reason to take his shirt off in almost every movie and that is a good thing. Currently watching Midnight Masquerade, which is worse than terrible, but these small moments somehow make it all bearable.
  24. Not sure why you would say this. Because he's on TV already? Because he hosts a show? With the exception of Rodgers (and Dr. Oz,) I think they all host 'news' shows, don't they? I didn't like Cooper before and nothing about his hosting made me change my mind. He seems so smug, and I swear he used a cartoon voice a lot of the time. Not sure if that's how he actually speaks, because it really turned me off. I thought I was a Jeopardy lifer, having watched Art Fleming as a kid and Alex Trebek since the start of his run, but I am really having trouble getting into the shows with the guest hosts and honestly, I think the players are too. There were a couple of trainwreck shows over the past weeks where I'm sure the players just couldn't get into a rhythm because there is no way 3 smart people would have missed that many questions. Maybe the universe is telling me I am done with Jeopardy because with the exception of Aaron Rodgers, I wouldn't watch any of the other guest hosts (so far, including Ken Jennings) if they became permanent.
