  1. I suspect Jenna got sucked in to believing her own publicity some time last year... when she started posting all those "look at how cute I am, at being so gorgeous!!" insta ridiculousness-es.

"Legend in her own Lunchbox" syndrome ? It's a train wreck to watch... and I hope that I am a cynical old bag who is completely wrong.

Looking at this post with the accompanying picture, Jenna states she is proud of "THIS" team, meaning the team pictured below?? Without Holly? And the group of "Veterans" (capitalized by her) we have, again without Holly?   Jenna seems to always be cryptic in her messages since announcing her retirement last year right after the Pro Bowl cheerleader was announced.  I hope Holly was not thrown under the bus by Jenna in order to save herself...lol.. and I can only hope Holly has an offer she couldn't refuse and had to retire.

Ooooooh good spotting @Jazzmom... I think you could be on to something there!

I think Jenna reminds me of someone who got in trouble and then chose to sing a song about a witch as sort of an under your breath dig.  Her cryptic ?IG or Tweet about looking through the lens of thankfulness just seems like another dig.  She just doesn't know when to shut up.  Spent many years working with those in their 20's and recognize the behavior.

    Yes, this!

  3. I really enjoyed that the auditionees were generally depicted in a positive light - most commentary was more respectful than ever, not too much snark or condescension from the judges. It made the episode much more fun to watch when the focus was on the girls' good points and the courage they had all shown in turning up! I'm glad the humiliations of previous years were minimised. Of course there are girls who are less suitable... and that's obvious without snide remarks on top.

I still love @ShellyB's moments most of all... the camera capturing the involuntary facial expressions as you willed Dayton on to do her best - that was so adorable!

I too am surprised that Ballroom girl didn't get a chance at semi's to see if she could handle DCC choreo ? - I can see why she was judged unsuitable, but still, that girl could clearly move well given her background and I wish the judges were curious to know more about her. Perhaps there were extra issues that weren't depicted.

Loved Christina's hair. Perfect on her.

I can't remember a season before this that showed prelims as such a fun day with lots of goodwill and warmth. ?

  4. @raindancer I ordered the season pass from iTunes & downloaded the first episode 6 hours ago! I didn't realise that they were out of order in the iTunes Store - I had to scroll all the way over as season 12 was listed last on my screen. (It started at season 11 and then was in descending order... with season 12 tucked at the end ?)

    i hope that helps :-)

  5. @LaurenBrook what made you suspect Raylee was vulnerable to being cut??

and I'm soooo happy for your girl Kelsey - she's perfection and I adore her.

I just feel beyond awful for the cut vets.

Yuko - right from the start of her selection last year I was convinced that there were behind the scenes factors involved; it doesn't bother me that there are #reasons unrelated to the standard set of criteria applied to most girls. It doesn't stop be being curious though!

Dayton - so in love with her, pretty and sweet. I can see how another year will make her a total package and it's great that she has the freedom to develop further before she's committed into a team. Surely that will give her more longevity? It will be so much fun to watch her next year.

  6. I wonder what would happen if a returning vet happened to be incredibly ill or suffer an unfortunate event preventing her attendance at finals... surely it has happened in the past at least once?

Say for instance that a vet came down with terrible food poisoning and was in hospital the day of finals. Would she be at least offered a spot in TC, or given a special audience to perform her solo and finals combo?

Silly hypothetical situation really - and probably a case-by-case thing that the organisation would consider - but surely common sense would prevail and goodwill extended in that situation. I can't help wondering about it!

  7. Dayton! ?

I hope it went really well @ShellyB!

And I agree the drop in turn out is more a refinement in quality - most people who turn out would be serious and well-prepared, as they'd know what to expect from the show. This would have to be a good thing if you're a judge... less time wasters!

I think they used Amy, Kendall and Kelsey for storylines. Kelsey's use just benefited her. I think she'll be cut next year.

I would hate to think you're right - I hope Kelsey keeps earning her spot and stays on if she wants to. She doesn't seem scared of hard work and doesn't seem to be taking her spot for granted. But it's in her hands now! Good luck to her!

My heart still breaks for Kyndall. She wore her heart on her sleeve from what was shown and I really feel for her. I'm not sure if I want her to come back again unless she knows she has really got it down - at least she has Jessika to hang out and practice with which might give her an advantage? She should know all the dances back to front!

I don't think Amy will be back. I hope she's found her happy place with GSW.

  9. I can't believe how late the iTunes upload was - but finally ?

Kelsey is ADORABLE. I love her for her poise in the face of the bizarre bacon critique.

Emily totally solved her crazy eyes issue IMO, and I hope she works on her feet and comes back. She's so beautiful and seems like a lovely person.

It sounds like Yuko missed more than one practice. There's def more than meets the eye on her inclusion on the team; I've got no prob with it, I wish it was shown though because that'd be interesting.

i forgot to watch for the vets heaviness; I wasn't paying enough attention. Which scenes were bad?
