  1. I laughed my ass off at that skit. The heightened drama around word choice in a weather forecast was delightfully absurd.
  2. @tv echo and @Velocity23, thank you both for the links and posts; I appreciate your searching that stuff out so we don't have to! @Sakura12, I don't know who that is in the picture you posted, but I'm printing that out and hanging it in front of my weight bench for inspiration! I'm always nervous when there's a bunch of LoT spoilers and Mick isn't mentioned. I'd like to think he has some role in all the Ray stories, but I will put up real money that the bulk of the interaction in those will be with the new arrival.
  3. Thinking about it, if I'd had to cast "the best choice" out of all the actresses I've seen for the role of Margo, then (assuming they'd be magically 1) alive and 2) age-appropriate), it would be Gloria Foster (The Oracle from the first Matrix movie).
  4. Matthew Mc. is a lot more charming than I'd realized.
  5. That's good. She was one of the brightest aspects of Mistresses.
  6. I just want to point out that for those who are interested in debating the (de)merits of Sansa vs. other characters, our considerate mods have now created a book-friendly "Sansa vs. ?" thread where everyone is welcome to debate this ad infinitum. Thank you, mods.
  7. I have this terrible, sinking feeling that Jaime kills Cersei because they're captured and threatened with a terrible death, and he chokes her (no weapons, so only available method) to save her from a worse fate. So even in her death she'll get mercy rather than what she deserves.
  8. Yet one more reason why the Wonder Woman movie kicked ass. Diana could have wiped the floor with Steve, and he didn't care. It was just part and parcel of what made her awesome. He was secure enough in himself to know he could be an equal partner even though they weren't equal in strength.
  9. I love that Rip looks military (in the way Star Trek looks military). That's what I would expect from a by-the-book Time Bureau. Between his Chronos trauma, distaste for Rip and general disdain for authority, Mick's just gonna LOVE these guys. I would pay real money to watch Ray Palmer try to Marty McFly his own mother. That's a potential disaster of epic proportions. Bonus points if Nate and Jax go Statler and Waldorf on the whole ordeal. In a personal interview, Purcell revealed Mick will end up in jail for Episode 3. Wonder what's that all about? And will it be related to the return of Captain Cold? Will it be the Time Bureau jail or one from history? Is this related to Mick's finding the Time Bureau in Aruba after the Legends disband? I know it's not likely, but man, would I ever love to see Ray mount a hold-no-prisoners rescue mission to break Mick out, after all the times Mick has saved him.
  10. It's got to be a joke or something. Why the fuck would you do that to your best friend? Especially when you have Amaya? Unless they're Marty McFly-ing it, where a disgusted Nate has to try and flirt with her for info or something.
  11. I suppose the LoT cast could be the ones who were in a shouting match, but I would be cautious about thinking that means there's trouble on the set for several reasons: 1) They're generally a tight cast. There are always pictures floating around of them goofing off or whatever. 2) I looked at that interview too, and while their expressions *could* mean they're pissed, it's also likely they're just exhausted. By all reports, LoT is a friggin' hard shoot physically and mentally - I suspect that's one of the reasons we don't get more episodes. And the cast was shooting on Friday and then on a plane early Saturday to San Diego. Even in the early arrival pics, they look tired. 3) I wouldn't go by Purcell's face - he looks pissed off most of the time. He's just got one of those faces. (I have too; whenever I'm thinking about something people ask me who I'm mad at!) I'm not saying there wasn't a shouting match, there could have been. Even close families fight every now and again. I'm just skeptical and not willing to accept that a tired cast must really be assholes to each other due to a blind item. Honestly, unless TV Line was willing to name names, they should have just kept their mouths shut. That kind of gossip can poison. It wouldn't surprise me if it was slightly exaggerated either - they're trying to entice people to watch all those interviews, and getting people to watch all of them for clues as to which cast was the yelly one means more eyeballs for them, and therefore more money.
  12. I agree...I like James and absolutely don't want to see him killed off.
  13. If this movie were to be made today, Kelsey Grammar is the only actor with a hope in hell of matching George Saunders.
  14. Regarding the Supergirl panel.... I'm in agreement with people here - whether they were just fed up and saw a way to get theirs, or whether a tired group of people tried to pass something off as a joke without seeing the bigger ramifications, the Supergirl cast did the wrong thing. They hurt a lot of people. They added to an atmosphere of belittling those who champion LGBTQ relationships on TV precisely because there is not enough representation to normalize it. Maybe that's not what they meant to do, but they did. Even if they don't actually give a shit about representation, it was a dumb thing to do from a political and public relations standpoint. No one is talking about the Supergirl spoilers now because this has overshadowed everything. I hope this shows, and I hope my comment history will bear out, that I passionately believe in representation for many minority groups (good luck to you if you venture to read my endless Ichabbie and Atomwave ravings), as well as that shows need to be smarter about how they engage with their fandoms. However. I want to be careful how I say this. I have been a shipper for a long time. I was shipping before I knew what it was. I shipped Brave Starr and J.B. I shipped Turbo and Crasher. I shipped Data and Crusher. Hell, I shipped Jughead and Betty based on comics (which used to be my gold standard for hopeless ships before Riverdale came along, and thank you very much for ruining that for me, CW). I know what it is to be passionate about a ship, especially the frustration that comes with realizing the show is just never going to see things the way you do. I argued myself black and blue for Chlark and GSR back in the day on TWoP. I did it again for Ichabbie on PTV in recent years. I didn't start Arrow until Season 5, but I already know just from the characters this season that Olicity would have won my heart pretty early on (and I would have been SHOCKED at it actually happening, and heartbroken when they broke up), and I would not have shut up about it. If Legends ever did throw some weight behind Atomwave, they'd hear me squeeing in Korea. All that said, as much as I love my ships, and as much as I was usually frustrated with the characters that were blocking them, I don't think it ever occurred to me to contact the showrunners, the actors, the writers, or anyone else in that show and say dismissive, angry, harassing, or threatening statements. Hell, I couldn't bring myself to do it even on sites like this - I couldn't forget they were people even if I thought their behaviour was idiotic. My heart goes out to the quiet shipper fans of Supergirl (whether they're Karamel, Sanvers, Supercorp or others) who just want to squee quietly about their ships with like-minded people, create or experience a bit of fanart, and just generally take pleasure in an imagined direction for the show without expecting or demanding that the show go there (as well as the excitement that happens when the show does, in fact, go there). There were some fans of the show who were not satisfied with that. I have seen some of the things that were posted, and those posts are not friendly. I would be personally horrified and, in some cases, afraid for my safety had any stranger sent some of these things to me. I know people get upset. I know. I know being marginalized for so long can make you want to snap. But there is a line, and while the majority of fans did not and would not cross it, some did. In a major way. It might be the reality of the Internet, but that does not make it right. It is true that the Supergirl cast were dismissive and belittling of the Supercorp shippers, and that was wrong. To me it was morally wrong, even letting aside whether or not it was smart PR for the show or politically expedient from a ratings point of view. It is also true that *some* Supercorp (as well as other) shipper fans crossed a lot of lines on the social media feeds of those involved with the show, and that was wrong too. It was morally wrong, even letting aside whether it was smart PR for LGBTQ representation or politically expedient from an influencing the showrunners' decisions point of view. As they are fond of saying on the AV Club: it can be two things. I understand why both groups felt threatened, and I understand why they lashed out. I sympathize with their feelings. I do not condone their behaviour.
  15. Purcell revealed in a one-on-one interview that Mick ends up in jail for episode 3, LOL. Also that the first two episodes are really funny, and if he had to pick a character for Mick to hang out with it'd be Ray. Which he enjoyed last year until "fuckin' Zano" (said with a laugh) butted in. I found the video in the reddit forums, but you can probably do a search on YouTube. I'm on my work break and don't have time but I'll try to find the link later if no one beats me to it. If Cold is going to be a new version we haven't seen before, please please PLEASE let him out-Palmer Ray Palmer...just to see Mick's head explode.
  16. He would be better paired with Mick. I am riding that horse until it dies in the harness, people! Seriously: I'm not expecting a romance - you'd have to pick me up off the floor passed out from shock if they went that way - but for God's sakes, they're interesting and they spark when together; Mick has Ray's back and Ray cares about Mick. This could be a great friendship. On the other spoilers: Really glad Rip will be around. Totally stoked to see Mari and Constantine, who I've heard so much about. I'm cautiously looking forward to seeing Snart - as long as he doesn't end up dragging Mick back to Central City to go Rogue. That's always my fear with Snart in the mix, that the writers will throw away Mick's growth in favour of reverting him to Flash!Mick. I think it's promising that we'll see Ray's brother and Young 80s Ray. Of course, with my luck Mick won't even be in that episode.... Brain-switched Firestorm sounds awesome! Still hoping the boy band picture is indicative of actual events in Aruba.
  17. Damn. If you needed a hottie to make it believable that Chloe would be all "Lucifer who?", Tom Welling is your man!
  18. *sigh* I knew the minute she was announced she would be a love interest for Ray. My Raymick hopes will, alas, remain unfulfilled....
  19. Beach babes https://t.co/aCesIbz0X1 If part of the shoot, this is the single most promising thing I've seen yet regarding Legend's third season.
  20. Beach babes https://t.co/aCesIbz0X1 I'm just praying they're in costume for the premiere. Because that promises awesomeness on a massive scale. ETA: If anyone can show me how to get links to show up as pictures, I'd be mighty grateful.
  21. *sigh* It really saddens me that LoT doesn't get the same recognition. It's not the first (Arrow); it's not the highest-rated (Flash); it's not the zeitgeist darling (Supergirl). It's just a funny and endearing little show that's learned what it can do and does it well.
  22. I think it's whatever he was wearing in the Season 3 finale. I just love the promise of it, and the potential title.
  23. Gotham poster for SDCC. YES.
  24. So according to Guggenheim's Twitter, we know the titles of the first two episodes! 3.01: "Aruba-Con" 3.02: "Freakshow" The first should be our introduction to Rip's Time Bureau; the second should have Billy Zane as P. T. Barnum.
