  1. That's an interesting theory...imagine Jon's devastation if Sam finds out in those books that the WW could never have breached the wall had he and others not set things in motion.... But I suppose that doesn't take into account Bran's connection with the Night King. Too bad.
  2. I guess I'm not seeing the connection between Jon and Dany to the Long Night, @Edith. Do you mean that Jon and Dany go on the offensive against the WW, and that's what starts the Long Night?
  3. Eh, it's fantasy. If I were casting a fantasy film/show and had complete control over who to pick, I'd cast colourblind and not worry about how realistic the genetic combinations were. If anyone protested, I'd chalk it up to "different universe, different genetic options and biological processes." That said, you could get away with that in an Earth-based story like The Arrowverse too, you'd just have to provide an explanation. Adoption's the easiest route, but genetics can result in a lot of varied outcomes. Skin colour is definitely one. Combining chromosomes is not like mixing paints.
  4. Holy crap, I'm gonna have to watch School of Rock on Nickelodeon. I literally hurt my throat and got stomach-sick, thats how hard I laughed at this episode. Props to you, Tony Cavalero. If what I saw is any indication, Jack Black's most beloved role is in good hands.
  5. I'm glad they're continuing that friendship. As much as I would have supported them as a couple, I'm fine with their friendship. And it's sort of nice to see a "beauty and the beast" trope subverted with no romance. I'll have to find somewhere to watch that video. I was curious as to where he slept too.
  6. I can see why it's such a great method for interviewing celebrities. That's probably the most open I've ever seen Colbert on television.
  7. Oh my Lord, Stephen eating the hot wings was AWESOME. I might have to check out Sean Evan's YouTube show.
  8. THANK YOU! YOU LOVE ME! YOU REALLY LOVE ME! (And if you get that without Googling: You're old.)
  9. Huh, he looks kind of like Grant Gus- Holy shit, I have it. Barry and Iris have a baby, and Reverse Flash takes him and brings him back in time and dumps him with a criminal family.... Where's my Emmy?!
  10. Hoping this works - bringing it over from the Legends thread. Original post from @Proteus, edited for relevant content: My response, edited for relevant content: I did not hear that about Stein in all the spoilers from SDCC! That's making me think that they're setting up Firestorm to be a recurring player in Central City. On The Flash these characters don't have to be in every single episode, whereas it's hard to explain their absence on the Waverider and therefore we get all the "we can't merge!" excuses. But between having other stuff to do in Central City and the fact Flash probably has a bigger budget, they'll be able to use Firestorm a lot more often than Legends [can]. Plus these two characters are really the only two with a pressing reason to go home. Sara loves her dad but he doesn't need her and she has her own life; Ray and Nate sound estranged from their families; Amaya's relationships are all dead for centuries or on the Waverider; Mick's only sense of family is on the Waverider now that Snart's gone. But Martin has a daughter he has memories of but has barely interacted with, and Jax has a strong sense of responsibility towards his mom. I'd be sad to have them leave Legends - no more sis/bro bonding with Sara and Jax; no more Mick schooling The Professor or singing "Day-O" with him except at crossovers; wah! - but honestly, this means no deaths; we keep the characters in another corner of the Arrowverse; Legends still gets to shake up their team; and last but not least, we have an excuse for getting Lily to show up more often. Big wins for both audiences.
  11. But would Sara *like* Snart as a good guy?? It has to be asked. But you're right that the best possible version of Snart we could get right now is a goody-goody. I've said elsewhere: I want him to out-Palmer Ray Palmer. I'd be interested in both Mick's and Ray's responses to that. It might make Mick look at Ray in a new light, and Ray might finally be able to tap into the darkness within and develop that dangerous edge (you know it's buried in there; that's why all the bad boys like him). I did not hear that about Stein in all the spoilers from SDCC! That's making me think that they're setting up Firestorm to be a recurring player in Central City. 12. We're gonna see Ray's childhood, so possibly. And I heard a rumor that Quentin Lance would be showing up as well.
  13. Cheers, @Proteus - appreciate you letting me know! At this point I'm expecting Mick to get killed 3 episodes in or something!
  14. Speaking of which: we're all agreed that tbose employed by the Time Bureau are the Bureaucrats, right?
  15. @Proteus: Thank you for all the links! Any other scoop on the first seven episodes? I don't dare hope there's anything substantial on Mick.
  16. I can rest comfortably in the thoughts of every extremist group having their world uncomfortably shattered by the mere presence of a character that gives the lie to their prejudices by her very existence.
  17. I agree with what you've written here. It applies to more than just politics - put in any ideas you want, just do it adroitly. That said, I think the brouhaha over Zari being Muslim due to the creators' politics is maybe a smidge premature. All G said, from what I can piece together, is that the current political climate has caused some concerns for his Muslim SIL, which hit home for him, and that played a role in creating this character insofar as they made her a Muslim. She might not mouth a single word of politics on the show. Identifying as a Muslim who can kick ass and hang with the Waverider crew is statement enough, and maybe that's all the statement the show wants. If they put her together with Ray (as I suspect they will), having a Jewish man and Muslim woman in a relationship is also a political statement, and not one word of politics needs to be spoken to bring it about. So TLDR: I guess I'm taking a wait and see approach on Legends and politics.
  18. Oh *please* be a timid, snooty, law-abiding, Niles Crane-y Snart...I really need to see Mick and Sara dealing with that!
  19. I volunteer as tribute!!!!
  20. Honestly, if they want to treat the 4 crossover hours as an extended Dr. Who Christmas special - one entity, all four cast and crew working on the entire miniseries - I'm all for it. I don't need each show to feel like a normal episode of itself; in fact, I think it would be better if the crossovers had their own tone that remained consistent throughout all the series. On a different note altogether: if they were to incorporate Black Lightning into the Arrowverse, it makes the most sense to me to inaugurate it by having Oliver end up in BL's world somehow. Oliver is the most grounded of the heroes and the best fit to what seems to be BL's grittier, more realistic tone. I also think his maturity would best understand BL's world and the struggles he faces. And as a father himself Oliver can bond with BL that way as well.
  21. Aw, I'm so sorry you're having a bad day! I'm sure it's a case of JM's character softening up before she gets involved with Sara - if that's indeed where they're going with this.
  22. As for the Gorilla Grodd spoilers: I'd love it if Mick stood up for Grodd because he knows what it's like to be dismissed as dumb and brutish when there's a lot more going on under the surface. Alternatively, I'd also like it if Ray stood up for Grodd specifically because he feels they're dismissing him in a way similar to how they've treated Mick. Either way, I'd just be excited for once to get a spoiler for Mick that doesn't suggest he's gonna die or turn evil....
  23. Those are some good points. TV can take the smaller stories and flesh them out a little more, and TV can take time to show the non-"event" happenings that round out their lives. The character moments of the DCCW shows are my favourite parts; I honestly don't care who they're between (although obviously the ones with Mick are my favourites). One of the reasons I like Gotham so much is that they have the freedom to tell a story I haven't seen elsewhere: what were the formative years of Bruce Wayne like, and how was "Batman" forged? Most stories present him as a fait accompli, even when they're ostensibly showing how Batman Begins (see what I did there?). I don't want another story where Batman springs fully formed from the mind of Bruce Wayne like Athena from Zeus. I want to see him built, molecule by molecule. I'd never get that story from the movies; hell, I'm not sure whether it's been covered in either comics or animated series. I'll always appreciate Gotham for giving me a different spin on that tale.
  24. Well, if they wanted someone so beautiful it'd have everyone in awe for Rhaegar, they should have cast Tom Welling. Dear God, the man is hotter now than he was in his Superman days....
