  1. My kids are grown, but I nursed them for over a year each. That said? I never bought breastfeeding clothes. It never even occurred to me. And if I had, no way would I have purchased new ones for each child. It's a tiny market, considering most women don't breastfeed all that long, and they likely just spent some money on maternity clothes and now have the expense of a baby. She was also insane, but that's beside the point, I guess.
  2. I STILL don't understand "boards on boards." They waited wayyy too long to relaunch and everyone has moved on.
  3. How did I know that when siblings were squabbling over very expensive season tickets, it would be for the Minnesota Wild? And in Saint Paul, no less. His wife seemed...normal? I can not even imagine coming home to that guy. He seems like he is hiding explosives.
  4. Some inconsistencies: Adam had different sneakers on when pockmark brought him into the dungeon than he had at the time of the abduction. The actor playing young Adam has brown eyes (which were changed to blue in the photo) but older Adam has blue eyes. I would think parents would notice this difference....kind of a big one. Appendixes are removed via laparoscopy now, so there might not be any scars. I will give them a pass on that one.
  5. Adam is still alive (speculation) but hates his family so he moved to Montana.
  6. It was a clothing store. I just can't see it being robbed, let alone enough merchandise or money being stolen to warrant closing the store permanently. I suspect they were either using the store as a front or to launder money.
  7. Is anyone else wondering why the insurance didn't pay up for the robbery of their store? Also, would one robbery, one day, be enough to lose an entire business? Most people pay with debit or credit cards, so how much cash did they lose?
  8. I absolutely loved Blaze. She was so insightful and intelligent...I really hope she never even touches drugs and goes on to do great things. Genetically, the addiction lottery is against her, so I know it will be harder for her. But wow that kid. I also hope Digger can be with his kids, eventually. He has support from his mom and obviously loves his kids. I don't think Anne will, but her sister could act as a surrogate for her with the kids. (Speaking of the kids, their names make me wonder if the parents were transplants from Utah...)
  9. Eric was scum and I can't even imagine how his ex wife feels. I mean...he left her for a prostitute. Ouch. I get the feeling that Amy has burned out most of her family and she has already burned bridges. It does hurt when they look so good and then they go back to using.
  10. SUOMI!! How did I miss your name? My mother is a Finn and my grandmother immigrated here from Finland when she was nine.
  11. She had already been married once before, so it wasn't like this was her first marriage. She said something like it was going to be her last wedding...so by all means, blow half of your income on it! The husband and I got married at a courthouse and it was just as legal. Seriously, I don't get it. Also, I didn't get how he had credit card debt AND a bankruptcy. Isn't it one or the other? And then he couldn't get a credit card at all for the ring. Color me confused.
  12. Re: The case with the co-habitating couple with the refrigerator, tv and dryer. Granted, I thought the plaintiff should have not sued over things she bought in the course of a relationship, but JJ was particularly crabby on this one. A $1500 fridge does not become a $100 fridge in three years. I would guess it was still worth $500. Then $25 for the dryer and nothing for the allegedly broken tv? ALL of the litigants in the dead dog case annoyed the spit out of me. I know I am going to sound like a complete asshole, but if someone can't come up with $10 a day to save the life of their dog (as he alleged), then he has no business owning a dog. I highly suspect the dog didn't have a rabies vaccine (because if they can't come up with $140 over two weeks, they can't come up with $100 at one time to get shots) All of them sucked. ETA: Seth won't be getting another dog. And what kind of breeder takes payments and allows an 11 year old to decide he wants a husky puppy? I blame the breeder...stupid woman.
  13. Wyld Blue Owyeung is actually his full name. His dad, Ease, is kinda famous. He was the model maker for Star Wars, ET, Indiana Jones, and some other big movies. He is in his sixties so I really have no idea how Wyld came to be...I am guessing maybe some sort of surrogacy because he was older and wanted a child? Wyld does seem attached to his dad. The dog kicking kid scared me. The plaintiff claimed to be a podiatrist, so I wondered why she was suing for such a small amount? It wouldn't likely be worth MY time to sue over 350 dollars, and I don't make anywhere near what a podiatrist earns, esp in NYC.
  14. Word to everything you said. It IS expensive to be poor. Being unbanked is usually more expensive than having a bank account, but some people don't have other options. Usually, banks like Wells Fargo, Bank of America and USBank will allow people who are on Telechex to open an account, but it is restricted to just a debit card, no checks. Also, plenty of wealthy people don't know how to manage money. There are people who just consider OD fees as a cost of doing business. It seems insane to me, but I can't afford to really toss away $36. But JJ has never been poor, so I think she sometimes has no idea.
  15. We rent from a fairly large rental agency. They do not even accept checks. Our options are ACH via our checking account, debit or credit card, cash in their office or some sort of certified funds. It is nice for us because I can pay it online, but I think if I were still a landlord, I would not accept checks. I work in a bank and see so many bounce. I am thinking JJ is one of those people who writes checks at the grocery store...
  16. Candy Justice! And according to Velvet Romeo's facebook page, he has a new, very pretty girlfriend.
  17. i find it interesting that kids always find the opinion or feelings of the absent parent so much more important. Even with successful people like President Obama and Halle Berry, they really strive to connect emotionally with the parent who really didn't care enough about them to show up.
  18. Veering slightly off topic, but remember when Cindy Brady pretended to be Shirley Temple because she was reading Marsha's diary? I believe Mrs. Howell was on that episode, too. OK, back to JJ. Well, it was a stranger in line at Gates BBQ in Kansas City. Gates BBQ is pretty intoxicating and can make you do crazy things. ;)
  19. Normally, I would be very critical of a parent who moves away from his child, but it might have actually been better in this case. I don't think his leaving really had as much to do with Samantha's addiction as the rape. I didn't care that much about her, which made me sad. Still happy to see her so healthy in the end, though.
  20. I think he originally DID have the money to afford the dog. He fell on hard times. He obviously loved (Daisy?) or he wouldn't have put her in a kennel but abandoned her to a shelter. I think JJ was at her best, finding Daisy an awesome home with someone on her staff AND the family had the opportunity to know where their dog is. I can't even begin to imagine having to rehome my dog, so I was sad for them, but hooray that Daisy will have a good life.
  21. The defendant is named Romance Cooke!
  22. How long was her ex-boyfriend kidnapper on the loose? Was he the baby daddy? Because if he wasn't the girls' dad, did she get out and about later? I am guessing she had the oldest (Adele?) fairly young, since she is only 42 and has grandchildren. I really didn't get that part.
  23. Lauren and Chad's son (Weston?) is really going to have to be careful to avoid addictions. Double whammy on that poor kid. I am glad Lauren is doing well. Mike had already been an alcoholic his entire adult life before switching to heroin, so I had no doubt his wife would take him back, Dillon is 20, right? He can leave, and he SHOULD leave. Also, how was Mike even able to afford $1800 a month in heroin? Was he even working?
  24. I will vouch for Iowa. The cities are small, but they are really pretty progressive. I am surprised she didn't have any teeth, since Iowa also includes dental in their Medicaid. Maybe she just couldn't physically get to the dentist. ETA: On her facebook, she mentioned "changing her insurance" so it would cover the surgery. I am guessing she need to switch from IA Medicaid to TX medicaid? I am sure Texas is just delighted about that. (AFAIK, Medicaid is 50% federal and 50% state funded) I am guessing this is why they move to Texas months before the surgery.
  25. They get a lot more money in the UK, but it would still be difficult to live on 2000 a month in England, even if the rent is paid.
