So Sarah says something that gives Xander pause... Here's my unspoiled speculation: I'll bet she doesn't remember the baby switch and asks to see Mackenzie. Once she (re)learns Xander's complicity, he'll have to struggle to win her forgiveness all over again.

I think casting has been top notch lately -- the recasts of Chanel, EJ, and Sonny in particular are outstanding. So yes, Eli could absolutely be recast. Will's scenes since his return underscore my belief that he's as central and indispensable to the canvas as his mother and his grandmother have been.

I think data visualization means translating stats into pictures and infographics. I look forward to a day when he doesn't need the day job because Will and Sonny are back on contract. PS: Zach Tinker is one of the best recasts I've ever seen.

I saw a clip online of the Melanie/Nathan pairing. Did they ever address that they turned to be first cousins?

I don't think they'll kill off TK. I think he's one of about five people on this show that are safe. But if they were going to kill him off, they wouldn't have broken him up with Carlos. His death would be more dramatic if they were together.

I wonder why Christie Clark, Austin Peck, and Greg Rikaart aren't listed in the opening credits along with the rest of the cast.

Also the love of a spunky woman. It's medication + spunk that really wards off the serial killing.

Speaking of being alone in a corner... I'm happy with the balance of the show right now, but what's a guy got to do to get a story for Kayla and Steve? Even a b-story would do. But something. They're on contact. Use them. Please?

I'm increasingly convinced that Paulina is Lani's mother, and so Abe isn't Lani's father. I think that in the scene months ago where Paulina whispered a secret to the twins, the secret was that she's their grandmother.

What's interesting to me is that the stars of the previous two digital series (Abigail & Chad, the Last Blast crew) returned to the mother ship shortly after their digital series aired. So if this sets up the possibility of Will & nuSonny and/or Carrie & Austin to return to the main show, I'm all for it. (Especially if Will & nuSonny have actual chemistry.) That said I'm surprised by ED's involvement and I wonder what it means for SH's future as Kristen and Susan.

I agree it's a promising sign. I don't necessarily need Sarah and Xander back together (he's been more fun without her) but i do enjoy Sarah and she's got to get off that island. It defies all logic that no one is concerned about her.

I'm enjoying EJ. I think he's an important character to have on canvas. He immediately becomes the center of the Dimera family, for example. I think the new guy is capturing much of the old guy's manner and tone. I also think Allison Sweeny is selling the hell out of Sami's conflicting emotions. PS: My completely unspoiled speculation is that a year from now EJ will be on canvas and Sami will not. (Which is too bad; I love her.)

I just caught up on about a week of shows and I have to ask: has anyone else noticed the rather bizarre editing choices in the last week or two? First, I believe there was an episode's worth of scenes in the July 4th episode featuring Rafe and Ava at the Brady Pub that were cut. We only saw the last scene of that story, with the two of them randomly showing up outside the Pub watching fireworks. Then this week we got a "flashback” to one of the scenes we didn't actually see, with Nicole joining R&A and Ava questioning their friendship. Why cut that scene? Seems like it was important to that storyline. Second, there was an episode this week featuring a scene with Lucas and Eli wrapping up a conversation that we hadn't seen. I guess those scenes were cut for time, but then why include the last scene of them saying goodbye? PS: EJ and Sami are lucky that everyone living in the mansion chose small, identical bedrooms, and that the apparent master bedroom was available. (That said I like the new bedroom set.) PPS: I too love the new chess set.

It shows a lack of interest in developing Belle as an individual and not just a Carrie stand in. The sudden "hatred" is weird and out of nowhere.

I think Marci Miller is giving the best leading performance on this show since Alison Sweeney left the first time.

This is a minor point, but didn't they miss a beat with Ciara and Justin? Wouldn't she either not know, or have just learned, that Adrienne died? I was waiting for her to offer condolences when she asked about his kids.

You're right. I wasn't sure Hope was needed on the canvas right now, but if Ron is going to write scenes and stories that demand Hope be involved, then we need to see her. Bring in sometime age appropriate with a soap pedigree, like they did with Cady, who can jump right in and play the part when it's required.

Ok set designer. I see the Stefano portrait and the chess set. Show me an entrance to the tunnels and you'll get an A+. I like also Lani and Eli's new living room furniture a lot. I'm going to fanwank that they bought the place next door and added on two bedrooms so the twins didn't need to sleep with them in the kitchen. The new Kiriakis set is awful. The others are upgrades but this one is darker and smaller.

If I were brought in as a consultant tomorrow, these would be my recommendations: Write out Ben & Ciara. Happy ending. Write out Nicole. Happy ending with Eric, off screen. Recast Claire. Think neurotic and electric. Bring back Jennifer. I'd prefer Cady. Keep Theo. Bring back JJ. Write out Kristen. Maximum security this time. Write a real grownup Brady Chloe Philip triangle. I want to see Maggie in the Horton living room visiting with Julie and Jennifer. Roman and Kate reunite. Bring back Will, without Sonny. I'm open to a recast. Bonnie is Adrienne. I don't care how. Lots of Sami and Lucas. Front and center.

I thought Alison Sweeney had signed a yearlong contact. It's curious that she's being billed as recurring.
