I'm going to double down and pitch to Ron a story that leans into this Sarah weirdness: why has Sarah been avoiding her father's family?

Hearing Xander tell Julie that today is his wedding day really drive home how weirdly separated Ron keeps Sarah away from the rest of the Hortons. Sarah is Uncle Mickey's beloved daughter and Julie doesn't even know that she's getting married today? I don't remember any on-canvas Horton being so removed from the rest of the family, especially given there's no in-story estrangement. Has Sarah ever even shared scenes with Julie? Abigail? Eli? Shawn, Claire, Lucas? It's very strange.

Do we know how old the daughter is? I was maybe thinking she was for a Tripp Allie triangle? They need more young men on this show.

Head canon. I've had the same two thoughts about the same two pictures. The nod to Maggie's historic importance to that family doesn't bother me. Since Maggie is stuck on Kiriakis Island, this is the only way we're ever going to see her on that set. The picture of what also looked to me like Diedre and her sister took me out of the scene for a moment I was so confused. I've decided Makena took an old picture of her and Samantha and had someone digitally age them to her current age.

I'm sure the only thing holding them back from ignoring the age thing is that he's the twin of an iconic onscreen character. Having Sami and Eric be 10 years apart would approach the ridiculousness of AW's Vicky/Marley endgame. I still can't believe that fire stretched Marley six inches!

If the show were smart he'd be back as Eric.

I agree that Linda Dano was alive as Vivian today. I buy her as a Vivian recast (if Louise is retired or not traveling). I hope she sticks around. I like Dorian Lord as much as the next guy, but she did not work as Vivian. Linda does.

I agree that Ron might not be sure yet who kills Charlie, but I'll bet Sami is the one who's charged. Sami will be at the center of this story.

Arianna always seemed like a huge missed opportunity to me. She had good chemistry with Brady, EJ, and her brother and sister. She was a good potential rival for Sami. And played by an established soap actress. Why did she not work out?

I won't miss this Laura, who sadly is the only one I knew. She didn't seem to have much connection to the leading character she'd been in the past. (Also wasn't Laura older than both Julie and Maggie? She ended up the youngest. Dead though, so there's that.)

I like both Claires. But they have such different energies. ORK was all Vicky Hudson and ID is all Marley, you know? MM as Abigail and EO as Gwen deserve Emmy nominations for Lead and Supporting Actress, respectively. If Emmy nominations are still a thing.

Maybe it'll make him feel better about his failed flirting attempts.

I still maintain she had better chemistry with Wayne's Roman then she does with Drake.

I think Bo is the most important male character in Days history.

@DisneyBoy There isn't a single thing in your post I don't agree with. I will add that I think the actors who play Abby, Jake, and Gwen are terrific and I'm glad they're here.

Ok this is total speculation. But am I the only one that thinks that someday Charlie is going to grab Allie's arm, and suddenly she'll remember? PS: I hope Charlie stays around long enough to have scenes with Sami.

Four actors were added to the on contract list this week: Brandon Barash and Marci Miller (it never made sense to me that these two weren't on contract), plus Mike C. Manning (Charlie) and Cady McClain.

Things that are working for me right now: Emily O'Brien as Gwen and Brandon Barash as Jake. They're my favorite new characters in years. Marci Miller's return. I so vastly prefer her take on the character. I'm thrilled she's back and she makes BF seem less morose. Belle and Shawn deserve a shot to drive story on this show. I actually like new Melinda. Team Melinda! I think Lucas Adams is giving a good performance as Tripp in a story I'm not so sure about. And I like the way they're using Kayla and Steve. Things that are NOT working for me: Kristen. The constant hysterics. There's no rational reason why she wouldn't have gone back on the run weeks ago. Why in the world are Jack and Jennifer still living in the mansion? To take care of the grandchildren? Then why the need for the nanny? Hope not going apeshit on Ben. Hope buying any of this nonsense about Ciara being dead. Claire just looks much too old to be Belle and Shawn's kid. And the thing is, they kinda need to be in scenes together. Phillip needs to stop smirking. There are other facial expressions available. If he keeps this up I don't want Chloe anywhere near him.

At least she's not stuck in scenes with Abe anymore. They don't work together for me at all. I liked Abe's recent scenes with Hope and Lani a lot. Supportive friend with Hope. And pushing back a little on Lani's crazy. That's how to use him. But flirting with Kate? Are any two characters on the show less compatible? Shudder.

I absolutely believe that MR's absence is because of the controversy, but I don't believe for a second the conservative producers of this show who've employed her for 30 years fired her or asked her to take a break. I DO believe she's been hunkered down with her family who all get to believe the same things and never be challenged. And then she thought about going back to work, back into the public eye with coworkers who've been out online calling her out. What if she has to defend herself all day? What if her bubble breaks? And I believe she said, you know what, OH MY GOSH OH MY GOODNESS JENNIFER ROSE, I don't need these people. I'm staying home. That's what I believe is happening here.
