  1. I agree about Alyssa being better than some of the other options they've had. That said, they don't really "need" to hire someone new, it's more a case of wanting to, I suppose. The ratings have been fine with the current cast and they already have 5 people. With another person on the show, whenever Ana shows up on Monday or Tuesday, somebody will have to sit out to make room for her. And if that person is going to be Joy--no thanks. Make Sara, Sunny, or the new hire stay home if that's how it's going to be.
  2. Poor Sara! I hope she gets well soon and that her family is okay. I fast forwarded through most of the show. I mean, with Joy not there and View Your Deal today, too, it wasn't a hard decision.
  3. Looking forward to Sykes and Giffords.
  4. I'd been watching her on Hoda's show the past two days, too. It would be really nice if she got a job on something like Hoda's show, she fits that vibe very well. I didn't like her when she was first on The View. It took a very long while before she finally grew on me and started to find her groove. As soon as I started to like her, a month later she was fired. :/ I think there are a few reasons. This is just my speculation, but... At the end of the two Rosie's season, the ratings had been in the toilet since O'Donnell left in March and the people behind-the-scenes at ABC were begging Joy to come back for the new season. For whatever reason, Joy was resistant to coming back at first (probably a bid to get them to offer more money, lol), and only signed at the last possible second. Before they knew Joy was coming back, I think they had hired Michelle to fill the void that Joy left on the show (a one-liner type of comedian). But then when Joy came back, Michelle became superfluous. Another thing... I believe Joy held more power over the direction of the show when she came back because Whoopi had imploded the previous season and sent the show into ratings disaster. My personal opinion is that Joy had a hand in pushing the show to bring on Jedidiah and Sunny (and get rid of Raven and Michelle) to replicate the back-and-forth the show had when she was last there.
  5. As expected, Joy signed another 3-year contract through 2025.
  6. I liked what Ne-Yo said about misogyny in music, I feel the same way. To me, the ladies looked over the Bahamas today, and everyone was on the verge of melting. I agreed with Ana in the first segment when she pushed back on Sara, that those who commit an act are the ones responsible for it, not those who simply failed to prevent them from doing it.
  7. I loved the little tweet-like "Sunny's legal note" that showed up below, lol. And then when they were back at the table, Joy's faux, "How DARE you question my credentials?!" 🤣 That skit of Fineman they showed at the beginning of the interview was hilarious when it aired, so I enjoyed seeing that again. Her Aidy Bryant, Drew Barrymore, and Jennifer Coolidge impressions in particular were all perfect. Especially as a fan of Coolidge, it's so much fun seeing someone nail the voice and expressions.
  8. Yeah, I don't miss Sherri on The View...although I wish her well with her new show. The Bowen Yang interview was as fun as I expected.
  9. Wow, what a show! I suppose it was good in the sense that I got to laugh at so many horrible answers, but, still--what a bunch of dud contestants. Hard to say which wrong answer was the funniest: "Eggs," "Cat," or "Prince." That last one, even Jane couldn't hold back her reaction. "Thesaurus "and "Democratic Party" were both pretty funny, too, though.
  10. I don't think anyone can take your opinion away simply by disagreeing with you? And I heard what was said on the show just fine. Anyway, I believe when Sunny says her stance has changed, she's never said that in reference to her religious views on abortion, only that she has a firmer belief in the separation of church and state than she did when she first started on The View.
  11. I personally saw nothing wrong with Sunny's comments. She's able to express her moral view and her view of the law as a lawyer without attempting to force the former onto the latter, which is refreshing.
  12. They mostly tried to be lighthearted despite the dark news since they were in the Bahamas. Personally, I liked Joy bringing up the guy hitting on Sunny...just because I know Whoopi doesn't like Sunny for whatever reason--and it shows. Joy killed me with the dancing at the beginning. She's the only one who was, the others were just sort of swaying.
  13. A lot of decent guests this week, too. Looking forward to Bowen Yang and the Fire Island cast, in particular. This will be the first time Sherri's been back since getting her own show. I'm glad they won't have to deal with guest co-hosts this particular week.
  14. Yes... 😩 The show's not airing here.
  15. Whoopi's right that "state's rights" only ever came into conversation when it concerned women's rights, LGBT rights, etc. It was never really about state independence. Ana Navarro talking about how the decision is "tonedeaf" because of the bipartisan gun control legislation happening in the Senate--it almost feels like the decision came out at this specific moment as a response to that bill happening.
  16. Several people this episode were openly rude to Ricky, and it really rubbed me the wrong way. So bizarre. What do the contestants even know about each other before they're standing beside each other? One woman called him a creep as she exited, and then Tony couldn't even explain why he voted for him to go in one of the earlier rounds, just said, "He's creepy." I was hoping Ricky would at least outlast Tony for that reason. And, tbh, Lindsey was making faces towards him at the end, too, knowing he was most likely about to go and smirking--which is why I rooted against her in the final two and was glad when she lost (and on a Mariah Carey question at that!). That aside, it was one of the better episodes, imo. It was nice seeing the worst one every round actually get booted for once.
  17. Best example of that today was when they were talking about John Cornyn and she had to be brought back down to earth twice before she finally understood what Joy had said. If you don't even have a grasp on what you're responding to, why are you talking....
  18. Slow week on The View. Not surprised considering there's less than a month and a half before break, I believe. I bet they're counting the days. I don't think Sara and Whoopi even gave an opinion in the second segment, lol. UO perhaps, but I've always liked Kristen Bell and enjoyed the flashback to her on The View years ago with the big hair.
  19. The odd thing is she was listed for all 5 days, but usually the guest co-hosts are only there three days a week. And then she ended up not being but three days like usual, despite the listing. I wonder if they weren't sure which days she'd be on, since Ana's usually on Monday's and Friday's, but her two days have been Thursday's and Friday's lately. I see Lindsey is only listed for two days. Pretty good guest lineup this week.
  20. I'm with Sunny--Ginni Thomas should be made to testify.
  21. I don't recall Sunny or Joy denying that was the case? What I do remember is Whoopi and Joy kvetching when Alyssa was first saying a red wave was likely, which technically Alyssa is correct that that is the forecast. All I could think is Whoopi & Joy simply didn't want it to be treated like it's a done deal based on polls. Whoopi has been going on tangents that she doesn't believe polls for the past few months whenever Sunny cites anything, so I wasn't really surprised by that.
  22. I agreed with Sunny when she said the opposition has blocked solutions put forward to deal with things like gas prices, inflation, Ukraine, baby formula, etc. because it's more advantageous to campaign on the problem instead. Like her, I take that as a sign that they plan to do nothing even if they win, because those already in office would be attempting to fix the problems now rather than waiting until after midterms if they actually cared about what happens to average people.
  23. I agreed with Sara, that was cruel both to the child and the animal. You can find a way to punish someone without doing something like that--if you don't want a pet, don't get one in the first place. Whoopi egging on Sunny's legal note dramatics did make me laugh. The Jeff Bridges interview was also pretty fun.
  24. And I would agree with Sunny on that point! The show was pre-empted here, maybe I'll see it later online perhaps. I imagine most of this week will be pre-empted. What was funny to me is a re-run of Wendy Williams (hosted by Sherri Shepherd) that followed was not pre-empted.... Network actions are so strange.
