They basically arrived at the conclusion that when actors do accents they are acting the accents not the characters.....if I remember correctly the original plan was for accents but they felt that a lot of the performances during auditions and rehearsals didn't feel authentic! (completely contradicting my original complaint lol) .... It's a bit of a mishmash of different brit accents and "kind of" russian accents which is, like you said, a distraction at times but I'm starting to be won over by the choice the showrunner made?! I honestly didn't notice it as much in the latest episode....

I wasn't sure whether I would like this even though I am very fascinated by the Soviet era but wow -- it was good!! And the podcast makes it even better. Can't wait for more! I have a feeling the cultural consultation that was done in creating this is gonna pay off big time. My only nitpick is the accents...the podcast did give an explanation which makes sense but for me personally it takes away from the authentication of the show?? YMMV

Absolutely! I just wish they would write Eve differently in dealing with her fascination. The psychopath comes across as interesting and charming....Eve is just a mopey, self centred mess who’s on the verge of embarrassing herself most of the time. The premise is great....the writing and execution could be better and all this season has done is confirm my belief that Jodie Comer should have been showered in awards for last season ..... not Sandra Oh. of course YMMV.

This episode felt really weird to me! I really just sat there for 40 minutes waiting for Villanelle to kill the creep and pretty much didn't pay real attention to anything else until Konstantin appeared....I might have to do a rewatch.... I'm a total moron as well ... I yelled out "Bill!!" before the Konstantin reveal....why?? lol

I had a moment during the episode where I was thinking...."what have they done to Villanelle?" A split second later ..... she does something so Villanelle I felt relief and revulsion in the same moment lol The crocs moment was so good! Welcome back show!

Yep - that's where my mind went immediately and last time I checked I don't work for the CIA or the FBI.....that's just terrible writing either way.... Also, the choreography of the "fighting" in this show is terrible....laughable most of the time.

It's a curious choice to (presumably) present nothing truly earth shattering in the season final.... for a show that has shed half its audience in the past 2 seasons you'd think they would be desperate to hook what's left of it.....

This is the fatal flaw made worse by the fact that she is kept in a dank, dark creepy cell like she's been held in the gulag.....it's laughable and weird not dramatic.

Stephanie has refused to participate in anything to do with the case. I'm not even sure she was questioned by the police. As for Serial, Undisclosed and the HBO doc she turned them all down.

I am actually really enjoying this show which of course means it is struggling in the ratings and is in danger of being cancelled but hell it's growing on me week by week!! I am new show cursed!

Did no one during the trial point out that Jay kept talking about "burying" Hae whilst the forensics said she wasn't buried? She was placed in a natural indentation behind the log and covered....and how was the DNA not tested in this case?? And a minor being denied access to a lawyer his family had hired is an unforgivable disgrace... So many questions.....

Brutal but true. The final scene of the pilot was dripping in cringe.....yet to decide if I will hang in there for another episode. PS I hate that Scott Cohen is playing a snake.

yep! I'm not sure the end justifies the means when it comes to The Whisperer's........The whole arc just feels sooooo weak and as you said, silly. Mopey Michonne is such a drag.

I’m not sure about timelines for this show but it seems that NBC got wind of ABC making a spy show and thought they should also make a (more serious) spy show by casting the worst actress to play a mole ever complemented by casting the worst actor to portray a FBI unit chief ever and thinking their scenes together wouldn’t be some of the worst TV made in the last 10 years.... fail NBC, big fail. I still heart Jennifer Carpenter however...

Jeez who would have thought in a world where everyone is up against it and suffering that just talking it out and reasonable negotiation could actually benefit everyone???!!!! Revelation....
