As much as I'm still slightly weirded out by the Framily, I do love the version of this song. Guess if sung in French, hair band songs sound exotic. http://youtu.be/h5A1OsCsaz4

I would like to think she doesn't really mean it, but I can't give her that much credit.
-
I admit, I was wrong thinking she wasn't going to be very good. I don't especially like her, but she's not as terrible as I initially thought. Sorry, Adore!

My top three are Bianca, Ben Dela Creme, and Courtney Act, but as others have said, Joslyn Fox is right behind them. Yes, I'm cheating, but I have a top 4.

Taste Testing: Dining at the Restaurants of Cheftestants/Judges
Veruca Assault replied to Bastet's topic in Top Chef
Going to one of the Craft restaurants is on my list of things to do someday. I ate at We The Pizza last fall, Spike Mendelsohn's pizza place in DC. It was "just" pizza, but it was quite good. I wanted to go to his other restaurant that's next door, but didn't get a chance. Also tried to go to Volt, Bryan Voltaggio's place in Maryland, but couldn't get in at all. Also hit Xoco, Rick Bayless's casual place in Chicago, it was ok. Best Top Chef related place I have been to is Palace Kitchen, occasional judge Tom Douglas's place (well, one of his restaurants, he has a lot) in Seattle. That was fantastic. -
You're probably right, Bella, but I know before Seattle it was heavily rumored that's where they were headed. I think part of it may also be process of elimination. At least try to maybe get some regional skills lined up- if they haven't been to New Orleans yet, try to figure out how to cook crawfish.

I'm not a marriage therapist, but I really don't think that basing your child bearing decisions on winning a million dollars on a game show is a good idea.

I moved a few of the Brenchel posts to the Brendon & Rachel thread, as they were generally about the team and not just their action during this leg of the race.

When Calls The Heart - General Discussion
Veruca Assault replied to maraleia's topic in When Calls The Heart
I agree with both points-- I keep checking to see if they have announced the renewal. I don't want to leave Coal Valley yet! -
Do we know where the next season is going to be located? One thing I don't get is the contestants not trying to prepare for the location, especially with NOLA. If I was to be a cheftestant, and I knew the show was going to New Orleans, I would be sure to try to learn to cook some of the signature dishes. Think that's one of the cardinal rules for the chefs going in.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
Veruca Assault replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
I guess because I watched basketball all weekend, but I keep seeing the new Sprint commercials for the Framily plan. Not sure what is more odd, the fact that Judy Greer has children with a hamster or that one of them doesn't seem young enough to be her child (though I'm probably not actually doing the math right). Also, I now permanently have the French version of Home Sweet Home stuck in my head. -

Woooo, Sleater-Kinney!! I miss you. *tear* (wait, does this mean I'm "old"??) -
Did anyone else notice one of the Afganimals grab the clue out of the river then out it in his mouth? Think that was less safe than running over the train tracks. Water bourn parasites!

I agree, she's really been growing on my the last two episodes.
-
Very excited to see The National as musical guests.
-
I think she, along with the super young queens, are cannon fodder this year.
-
She goes through spurts where I'm not actively wishing bad things to happen to her. That's an improvement.
-
Next week's episode needs to be 8 hours long. In part because I want things settled, but more because I don't want to see it go.

Mr Assault and I were discussing his EGOT last night. Isn't the easy Grammy a spoken word album? I used to just like him, but in the last couple of years, I now adore his work.

Ben Wyatt: Mr. Leslie Knope
Veruca Assault replied to Veruca Assault's topic in Parks & Recreation [V]
Then we can be controversial together, as Ben is my favorite as well. He might be my favorite character on tv, period. His quest to make Leslie make "the face" for the anniversary gifts, then lose to the GoT throne, loved it. -
