  1. Or Wayne Jarvis. Although he might be too professional for them. Maybe Maggie Lizer?
  2. Long time lurker, first time poster too. I bet Jenelle and David are going to be entitled to federal recovery relief from the hurricane. I suspect they will say ALL of the damage to their house is due to the hurricane (including the damage that was already there). I bet they are going to get a nice check and we, as tax payers, will be paying for them to fix the swamp house.
  3. The pic reminds me of Carlos (the baby from The Hangover that Zach Galifianakas puts the big sunglasses on). SMILE (tm Jill R).
  4. Or maybe crackers? (When I see a briefcase, I think of that Seinfeld where Kramer was pretending to work in an office and all he put in his briefcase were crackers :0
  5. Holy crap. Nurie's "note" looks like something I would have made in 4th grade. Complete with tracing a marker over letters written in pen.
  6. Just was poking around on PACER and saw that the girls are seeking leave to file an Amended Complaint to amend allegations related to Bauer Media (and therefore keep them in the case). The motion was filed on October 26. There has not been a response yet from Bauer, but will be interesting to see where this goes.
  7. So Christ-like. I am sure if Jesus was around today, he would walk around exactly like this.
  8. Or Bob Loblaw. He can write about it on Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog.
  9. I am sure that the insurance companies for the counties are involved and if they get anything it will be a relatively modest amount and the cases go away through settlement.
  10. Not yet. He has claims against the State of Arkansas Department of Human Services. However I think the Judge’s ruling states that the department hasn’t even been served with a Complaint. Josh won’t see a dime.
  11. Looking at the case, it seems that If Joy was smart (which we know she is not), she should have separately filed on her own. As a minor at the time the documents were released she may have had the stronger case. Jinger too since although not a minor she and Joy weren’t on television saying it was no big deal in terms of what happened. Jinger and Joy would probably play better in a jury instead of Jill and Jesse.
  12. Not sure this goes here, but Bauer Media (the owner of In Touch) has been dismissed from the lawsuits. The judge cited U.S. Supreme Court precedent which will be 99.99999% impossible to overturn (if they considered appealing). Based on the ruling, the only defendants in the girls' case are the Springdale and Washington County defendants and in Josh's case the only defendant is the State of Arkansas - Department of Human Service. No way they get any where close to $20 million (I think that is the number they had mentioned)?
  13. That bottom left picture of Jill is a legitimate glamour shot from those places in the malls in the 1980s. The hair, makeup, hand placement, the face she is making, and the head tilt.
  14. That home school video. Just wow. All I can say is those poor children. I am not going to criticize them or snark on them. They don't deserve it. Jill and David on the other hand ... First, Jill needs to lay off the black crap all around her eyes. She looked like Uncle Fester from the Aadams Family. Come to think of it, David kind of looks like Gomez. Also, it looked like David was reading his Bible verses from a piece of paper. If it is so important David, why don't you have them memorized?? Also, both are very poor speakers and not very articulate. I could not imagine paying a dime to hear either speak. I have more thoughts but most circle around three words already mentioned above, those poor children.
  15. Just looked at the Rodriguii pics from their grifting trip to NY. I'm kind of speechless. I can't believe the stuff she said about Amy in the shopping and restaurant pics. Why Jill did you feel the need to comment on her bed sores, her special utensils, her struggle sifting through items at the store, etc.? Oh, I know why, so all your "fans" can see what a good Christian you are for taking your cripple sister out for a day of shopping and eating.
  16. Holy crap on a cracker. If I'm Amy I would feel like shit (pardon my french). My family mourning me like I am gone, my sister using me for her own selfish purposes. Something truly terrible happened to Amy and her life (and the life of her husband) were changed forever. She's not dead though and I expect that she and her husband are working on what her new life will be and look like. I don't know of ONE PERSON that has ever memorialized a tragedy when the person is still freakin' alive. If anything, it should have been a celebration (that's not the right word, but I can't think of another one) about how far she has come from the accident and what she has accomplished over this past year, the poem should have been about how strong she is!! I only hope and pray that they asked Amy about doing this, but I highly doubt selfish Jill would ever consider another person in her quest for fame! Rant over.
  17. Moreover, at least on a prior episode, he brings Lawson when he goes and visits Ashley. I wouldn't be surprised if Lawson does not follow them everywhere they go like a puppy dog and that Nathan and Ashley get quite a bit of time that is just the two of them.
  18. Jill seems to be the "hanger-on" of the fundy world. Not really part of the elite like the Duggars or Bates, but desperate to be them. So she goes where they go and tries to inch her way in. I am sure she is desperate to set one of her older kids up with someone from either family. It has been said before, but I really don't understand why the girls must wear long skirts, modest tops, etc., but spackling on make-up is all good with Jesus.
  19. From my viewing, there is an undercurrent of anger/rage in Ben. I sometimes get the sense that he could go off at any moment and he is just barely holding it together. I get the same read from Jessa as well. Their talking heads remind me of the talking heads between Jon and Kate (and we know how that ended up).
  20. I was watching the most recent episode of Bringing Up Bates where they went to the beach and I couldn't help but notice how much healthier/cleaner/happier the Bates kids seem compared to these other fundy families (especially after watching the hair-styling video with the Rodrigues family). Even comparing them to the Duggars (who presumably have more money and are not currently living out of a trailer a la Rodrigues'), the Bates kids just seem better cared for.
  21. I loved this episode and found myself enjoying it a lot more than last week's. Will's excitement after Bill opened up the geode was so cute and his enthusiasm for pretty much everything and anything is contagious. I wish I had that outlook on life! I have noticed this before and don't recall if it is all the time but it cracks me up that Zoey often calls Will by his proper name "William." I had two older brothers growing up and did the exact same thing. To this day, I call them by their full names even though not many other people do! Getting Zoey's nails done, the chore chart, etc. I have no problem with. They have the money and I don't find any of it unusual. More than 50% of the time when I go get my nails done, there is a little girl there between ages 4 and 7 doing the same. If the Chore Chart works for them, then go with it. In both this episode and last week's episode, Bill reminds us how things are "normal." I think this family is doing amazing (all of them) given the facts that they went overseas to adopt two toddlers who had multiple health issues, didn't speak english, etc., during the adoption of Zoey, Jen has to leave and later finds out she has cancer, Jen goes through chemo, Jen beats cancer, Bill has serious back surgery and has to go through rehab to rebuild his strength. That is a lot for any family to deal with. Yes, I can watch and nitpick things, Jen's laugh still drives me crazy, etc. However, compared to any other reality tv family, the Klein-Arnolds are the champs!
  22. Shit just got real. This is depressing, Josh asked for prayers, here are mine: 1. I pray for Anna. I pray that Anna finds the strength she needs to deal with the reality that is her husband and their marriage. I pray that she has the courage to make the best decision for herself and her children when determining whether she wants to stay married to Josh. I pray that she finds real, non-Gothard support in assessing what her future will be. I pray that she realizes that she can be a strong and vocal advocate for her children and herself in determining that future. I pray that she doesn't blame herself for any of this. 2. I pray for their children. I pray they don't grow up in the isolated environment of their parents. I pray that they know that God spends more of his time loving them, not judging them. 3. I pray for Josh. I pray that he gets the help he so desperately needs. I pray that he finds peace. I pray that he accepts whatever the future may bring.
  23. The whole what will JB/Michelle do about Josh and did they/didn't they know discussion is fascinating. JB/Michelle are in a tough spot with Josh. He was their "golden child" and now is a 27 year old father of 4 young children with a GED and (as far as we know) no way to support himself and his family. If they don't help him out, I would be deathly afraid of Josh and Anna saying "F**k it, let's write a tell-all book, go on talk shows" and expose all the dirty laundry about the Duggars as a way to make some money. On the other hand, continuing to be connected to Josh "hurts the brand."
  24. Reading this news (and assuming it is true) shocked me at first, but then upon further consideration, it's really not that surprising. I think Josh is an entitled, egomaniac raised in an extremely patriarchal environment. Based on what we have seen of the Duggars on TV and other media and certainly confirmed when we all learned how the Duggars' reacted to Josh's molesting of others, I truly believe that there has never been any adverse consequences TO JOSH from his behavior. Consequences to others, yes, but not to him. Josh probably thought he would never get caught. There is another part of me that also wonders whether these accounts are also related to the repressive environment regarding sex that Josh and Anna come from. Both are told that you can't even KISS someone before you are married, then once you are married, boom, not only can you kiss, but you can have sex, etc. I don't think either of them have the tools to have a healthy conversation about sex, what they like and don't like, how to communicate with each other about trying new things, etc., all of which are part of creating a healthy, happy, and satisfying sex life for both partners. To be clear, I am not excusing Josh's behavior at all and I know people have affairs for lots of reasons, but just my two cents....
  25. My thoughts on this interview (in no particular order): 1. The interviews were a mistake for the Duggars. I don't know this for a fact, but I assume that one of the reasons the Duggars did these interviews was to save their show or make sure that a Jill/Jessa spin-off would happen. I think both are dead in the water. 2. I was bothered by Jessa not reaching out to comfort Jill, but understand that she just may not be a natural "comforter." I was more bothered by what seemed to be the almost cold indifference in her eyes when Jill was sobbing. 3. How the girls feel about the molestation, whether they consider themselves to be victims, and their forgiveness of Josh is their own business. I can disagree and question (which I do), but I don't judge them. 4. I am really bothered that Jill believes she needs to have the same "safe-guards" in her home as she had growing up. That depresses the hell out of me. Does she really already think about whether Israel may one day grow up to molest a sister (if there is one)? Why would you already be thinking that way? 5. I don't think the Duggars have any idea on how to have an adult relationship with someone of the opposite gender (outside of marriage). That sentence is inarticulate, but let me see if I can explain. I don't think the adult male Duggar kids and adult female Duggar kids have any sort of normal brother/sister relationship. Any relationship between brother/sister is effectively cut off at childhood. If not already happening, 5-10 years down the line, I see them barely speaking to each other. 6. This "people are out to get us" business is crap. They aren't out to get you. By your own choice, well JB and Michelle's choice, you decided to put your family on tv, write books, go on speaking tours, go on talk shows, sell your soul to People magazine for press, etc. You are the Kardashians' of TLC. If something like this came out about them, the public would have the same reaction. 7. I also call bull on the "liberal media is out to get us because we are Christians, have conservative values, etc." Again, see my sentence above. Also, I think a lot of the commentary that has been on TV of late has to do with the hypocrisy of the Duggars. The Duggars have no problem judging others (see, Michelle's message about transgender people being pedophiles, deleting photos of same sex couples kissing, the fact they follow Gothard/ATI). Now the shoe is on the other foot and people are judging you. Deal with it.
