To be fair, after Steve Hardy died there were alot of shenanigans involved in the CoS position. But Alan eventually grew into the job, as did Monica. And it was fine watching Britt and Terry evolve into a real team. They should have just left Terry as the solo Chief since they don't give her much to do anyway.
-
I think some of it is secondhand due to his close friendship with Britt but Portia has a rigid and extremely high moral code... for everyone other than herself or Trina. She's seriously unhinged** when it comes to her adult daughter. (Not that Carly wouldn't do the same things for her own but even Carly wouldn't demand the whole world treat Joss like a priceless hothouse orchid.) ** Maybe when Kevin gets back he can point out to Portia just how much she and Heather have in common.

Portia is a terrible physician. We already knew that when she prematurely forced the drug dealer out of his coma and now with her hostile treatment of Heather and changing the Cobalt results. So what if she feels a teeny, tiny bit guilty? Ugh. And now she's pretty much threatening Brad's job. I'm not the first to say "Pot meet Kettle" but sheesh. Heather knows Alexis is a Cassadine, right? I was surprised she didn't bring up their shared connection with Ace. It's been interesting to see Elizabeth's reactions to both Ric and Lucky. Triangles bore me but I'm glad to see Becky get a moment.

Also Roger Coleridge on Ryan's Hope. How depressing. 😥

White Collar- Discussion of the first 4 seasons
tessaray replied to rachel hickman's topic in White Collar
Are you avoiding the main topic due to spoilers? The show tends to all flow together for me, unless I specifically focus on a particular episode. Is there a certain place you want to start? -
Maxie was there partly to bring Deception papers to Tracy. But I don't remember who initially offered the Q horses to James for riding lessons with Cody. I usually find James annoying but he gets 2 thumbs up for spilling about Drew and Willow. Intra-Q blackmail over ELQ is a classic theme.

Is it still a dead man's hand if you have aces and eights in a full house? 🤔
-
In my imagination, I can see tptb making it clear to Finola that it was either Sonny or Jason. There's already too many unattached females on the show. Though it doesn't bode well for Valentin coming back for any length of time.
-
I was on the barge for that. I have always liked RoHo but redeeming Franco was not something I could stomach. (Though I did tune back in for the memories on a flash drive thing - it was so ludicrous I couldn't resist.)
-
I wonder how many times they played "Think of Laura" during that lurking phase. 🙂 Not that I would ever complain about Christopher Cross.
-
Let's hope. It took almost a generation to get to the fact that the way Luke pursued Laura was creepy, not romantic. Now Drew has crossed that line from mutual, inconvenient attraction to creepy. And Willow is increasingly boxed in. No matter how this turns out, she's the one that has the most to lose. I don't even like Willow but I'm starting to sympathize with her.
-
It's probably not intentional but there are echoes of Luke and Laura, when she was working for him at the club and married to Scott. Let's hope it doesn't end that way. I have a long list of people Sam could pull into the dangerous currents with her when she goes diving for the gun Alexis tossed.

It was kinda nice to see KeMo today, though tbh Sam begging Carly to do the right thing had me rolling my eyes. Maybe it's just me but I'm starting to enjoy CR's increasingly bsc Sidwell. With Helena and Faison gone, there's an opening for an over-the-top villain to come and go in PC. We could do worse. Tomorrow's preview - Lucky finally hears about Lulu. Too bad we are also stuck with James and Drew.
-
The actress comes across as delusional as the character. Any halfway secure database would show who edited the record, when and where. Since Portia didn't know Brad was back in the lab, I'm assuming she didn't sign in using his credentials. (Not that she should be able to do that IRL but in the movies everyone always seems to have root or system admin access.)
-
I was surprised when Liz said that. Though it was a little lame to hear he didn't want to visit PC because Heather was too close by in Pentonville. Who would tell her? Maybe the next time Anna talks to Robin we'll hear something about Matt.
-
They didn't have any problems dumping all the OG Davis daughters, so recasting Jordan seems like a no-brainer. (Though she was awfully pretty with Portia's brother.) I kinda wished there would be some chemistry between Isaiah and Elizabeth but alas...
-
She did have Franco and Finn. There aren't any available men in her age range left, are there? Isaiah looks meant for Jordan. I'm not rooting for LL2 or Ric but Sonny and Jason are the show's OTP, so the pickings are slim. All I'll say is that the writers better make the guys work for it.
-
Granted, I missed several years here and there but has there ever been another Laura besides Genie Francis?
-
I wish. It's a much better fate than potentially being used for body parts.
-
Of course Alexis' new cell mate is Heather. I hate this story, with its ridiculous prosecution based on flimsy circumstantial evidence. (Not that any of the others are much better.) I would be more impressed with them dredging up Sam's diving past if I didn't have a feeling where it's headed. Still... Cyrus tomorrow. Wasn't he the one who actually blew up Lulu in the first place? I was on the barge then. Theoretically they could at least verify it's Sonny's registered weapon and that it wasn't the murder weapon. Or is it? kmn

If it gets Jordan away from Brick, I'm all for it. I love Anna but she needs to go spend some time with Robin and the grandkids. Let Robin talk some sense into her.

Small Talk: Elevator Chat
tessaray replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Only Murders In The Building
Television is famous for giving us homes that the characters could never realistically afford. So that makes these writers a little better than most. I love the character of Mabel - she reminds me of one of my daughters, but with a much better wardrobe. But the intergenerational snark can sting a little sometimes. 🙂 -
Small Talk: Elevator Chat

Thanks to HGTV, I can sympathize with our northern neighbors. Canadian cities are shockingly expensive. I have millennial kids (well, the older 2 are kinda gen-x), so I only relate to Mabel in that way. As brutal as the economy was in the mid to late 70s, I couldn't complain or I'd have to listen to how hard my parents and grandparents had it in the Depression. 🙂 So I tend to just let my kids vent and spare them my commentary. But it was tough and my husband and I never did as well as those who were a few years older or a few years younger. It's a pattern I've seen reoccur. In the 80s after the savings and loan debacle, again after 9/11 and then the great recession after the housing market tanked. And now the post-pandemic. If you graduate or become independent during an economic crisis, often you never completely regain that ground financially. It affects job opportunities, salaries, housing, pretty much everything. (There are articles about it out there if you search. I felt seen.) -
Who's related to whom? Family trees gone wild
tessaray replied to Silver Raven's topic in Days Of Our Lives
I'd rank Julie #1 because of her longevity, closeness to Tom and Alice and that she's pretty much the last original cast member. When she's gone, that link back to the 1960s disappears. (Maggie didn't come along until the 70s.) Hope and Jennifer are tied in my mind. Bo and Hope were flashier (and fun to watch) but Jack and Jennifer held their own. Mike's paternity took years to come out. But his story really started when Bill raped Laura. It was as riveting as Luke and Laura on GH and long before those two. (Though equally problematic.)
