  1. Anyone else think that wall that the Kaylons were using seemed like a huge version of Tetris?
  2. All the Avalon Hill games were my favorite games back in the day. Squad Leader, Panzer Leader, Afrika Korps, Wooden Ships and Iron Men. Starship Troopers. Anything with hexes I loved. Traveler was always a blast too.
  3. I guess I'm in the minority here, I am enjoying Tig Notaro's role. Mind you I do understand her comedy/delivery are an acquired taste - people typical like it or it's like nails on a chalkboard. I guess I'd equate it to Frazier's sarcastic deliveries, which I also enjoy. The character, to be fair, is written as pretty dismissive and condescending, but I chalk that up to being an engineer - Scotty, while not sarcastic, took HUGE pride in the Enterprise, which he rarely failed to point out. Enjoying Pike too, the actor is playing him understated and brilliantly. He's funny, supportive, with only a very occasional hint of swagger.
  4. Good episode, taking a dark turn. A few logistical quibbles - would the Kaylon not have just disintegrated the bodies of their makers, rather than keeping them around? As they said, they have no emotional attachments so no reason to keep so many bodies laying about. Big waste of space too. Agree with a previous poster, WAY toooooo easy for a kid to get off the ship. That piano player always cracks me up with his funky head.
  5. I'd like a deaf person with me, their visual acuity would be heightened to razor sharp
  6. Agreed. It's knowing the vulnerable points. Wrist rockets are lethal if you know which part of the forehead to aim for. Arrows have been perfected over ages for killing targets, since what pre Roman times? Kinetic energy + sharp point equals quite deadly if used correctly. And likely much easier to produce than techy bullet nonsense. You don't need bullet speed with walking dead, plus the noise involved. and chambering, keeping the gun barrel cleaned, etc. I'd do a bow/arrow or some such 100x more than any bullet tech.
  7. Just how easy is it to skin a face? Because when I shave, i make nicks and cuts all over - I can't imagine successfully skinning a face intact would be easy AT ALL. That and gross, I don't want to walk around all day with a dead mask o. Who knows what germs are getting into your eyes, nostrils, and mouth. And scalp, lice anybody???
  8. bah dull episode IMO. Riding, mumbling, exploring.
  9. My gosh, this. As a chef, they carry around pens on their sleeves. Put a STUPID tiny calculator in there as well so you can keep a running total of your basket. You can even buy a digital watch that have calculators on them.
  10. no kidding. Bret is the equivalent of an anti-Joey from Friends - none of the charm or wit, and all the negatives. And I'm guessing with his size, he's likely a snorer. (I can say this as I'm a snorer too, and feel bad for anyone who has to put up with that.)
  11. Yep, that was a yawner. Even the commercials.
  12. lol omg i need to see Hell's Kitchen with Samuel L Jackson as one of the chefs. EPIC screaming back n forth.
  13. I try to ignore comments so I can judge the first visit on a clean slate. 50/50 success rate so far case in point: total mexican dive 1/2 block from me, fugly exterior, but best mex food since i left texas.
  14. Well that was unsettling, but I enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of the Mist (also an excellent movie.) The leaves blowing around when the creatures were near seemed really really Shyamalan-esque to me. Mind you by sheer coincidence I did watch the Happening last week, so that was still fresh in my mind. I dunno if it's just me, but I love seeing Ms Bullock yell/cuss at people - she usually plays a nice character, so seeing her go off on people is very satisfying.
  15. eh ok morrigan stop making so much sense, i'm trying to nitpick :) i forgot he got incap'd re the earlier tank
  16. it made me wonder -shirking his resp, or seeing if his daughter could step up? probably both really. anyways, geraldine a model for how NOT to be a manager - no answers for anything. number 1 job manager -resp for how things are running, you are basically running things, overseeing staff - and your staff completely tossed you, no loyalty at all. LEARN AND EARN RESPECT FROM YOUR TEAM. basic. and sorry - perhaps just my personal opinion - if you're on the floor, DO NOT HAVE A SOUR PUSS FACE ON CONSTANTLY. abs drives me away any restaurant. re recent thing - went to McD (I do not live the high life, believe me) - no one willing to help me, just dismissal re use the stupid kiosks -I walked out. Your floor staff needs to pay attention if one does not wish to use the kiosk. If your forcing me to use the kiosk, that's akin to forcing me to check my own groceries at the store, and NO, not tolerating that for the prices I pay. McD, pay a stupid employee to greet and take my order. if you can't pay a FTF for me, you get no buckage. sorry to diverge from the topic. McD stupid corp can afford it, and BK and Wendy's don't do that. Congrats, I'm patronizing them now loyally.
  17. I wonder at chefs, as they ALL seem to have a mean streak. It seems to be a part of their disciplined training, I wonder do they all have harsh mentors? I'd love to hear an interview with Christina re GR, since she has been with him awhile.
  18. Well that is disappointing. And with all the hubbub, I doubt they will let Hotch do a cameo.
  19. That comment threw me as well. Maybe he got probation? He did get arrested in December on drug charges: https://www.nwfdailynews.com/news/20181201/hells-kitchen-contestant-arrested-on-drug-charges
  20. Trolley Stop: Well this. If the chicken comes back once, drop in an extra piece with the rest of the plate so you have a tester you can slice open. That and maybe check your frier, maybe it's at the wrong temp. I'm amazed the bloggers would allow having to refire twice as acceptable. I do like it when Gordon gets the city involved - loved the band, performers, and cheerleaders (and gotta wonder how much THAT costs the show.) Why did he bring Aaron in though? It didn't look like a high enough volume of food to need two chefs keeping an eye on things. eta: ah aaron's a local, so no brainer bringing him in, my bad.
  21. lol. that indoor skydiving did look fun. question, as a definite amateur cook, how hard is it to make a hollandaise?
  22. Yeah, I guess so - doesn't seem like there'd be enough water there to incapacitate him. And what, he doesn't have to drink water to live?
  23. So
  24. I'd like to see Hotch and Gideon again (it's been so long I don't remember exactly what happened with Gideon, anybody recall?)
  25. OMG tuna casserole and chips?? totally my chilhood
