sorry to turn this into mormon hour, just i live here in the heart of mormonism so i kind of feel i have to represent - and i'm not even mormon, i am baptist. and baptists can be way more extreme than mormons, let me tell ya. but this isnt the place. i'd love to see kyoto someday. but i cant do the kick challenges, bad knees - i'd fall over.

ok slc resident here. most mormons are not zealots in terms of doctrine, same as are southern baptists which i was raised. we need to not rush to apply labels and expectations. i construe each person first as a person, then i proceed. shades of grey my friends. eta: sorry to sound preachy, not intent. just sharing thoughts.

agreed, tho the walk is not the important thing truly - getting the degree is. a lot of people deserve accolades but there's no ceremony to celebrate them. in this case i hold anna's actions 10x higher than dumb ol amber acting up at her walking. (am i bitter? nah)

Trent and Amber are just pissed because they have a child willing to exert her own will and independence. The others are controlled by T&A so they get no grief from them. Classic domineering parents. If I were Anna I'd invite the siblings to the walking ceremony and advise her parents they are NOT welcome to view.

forgive me if this is an unpopular opinion. i constantly get the feeling this fam is constantly on the defensive even when no one is disputing them, hell even when they are being supported! i dont get everyone's need for control - liz, amber, trent to a degree. even friggin alex who is the youngest gives the aura of 'i am smarter than you therefore bow before me'. ditto emma. anna seems the only down to earth person along with bryce, the rest are bullies in their own way and seem to relish it.

same. i dont have extensive pub experience but they seem to be more folksy enjoy the company rather than here's just some british pub fare places. like you know most of the people there already rather than just a dine in restaurant.

i'm guessing their strategy is to sell maximum amount of drinks to make money, with the food being snacky stuff to make you want to drink. While that is viable it does go against the plan to do a good restaurant IMO.

ya great point, are all these staff pulling like 16 hour shifts? tho i have to think that's just tv production as there would be too many people to introduce. momma cheri's is a fantastic u.k. kitchen nightmares episode, watch it and it will warm your heart. funny, endearing, no annoying staff.

the british 'ramsay's kitchen nightmares' seems more in line with this way of thinking. he seems far less dramatic and more intent on genuinely helping the owners.

a sit down restaurant with plastic utensils. amazing. i'm suprised there werent red cups for the drinks. short of her son making it in the nfl, i dont see bouncing back from a mill in debt. he was so polite tho i truly hope he pulls it off.

ok i need the recipe for the Lucky Daisy Bottoms Up tonic. i also need that amazing breakfast served to me daily. eta: just finished the episode. quite good, enjoying this. i like how everyone seems to have drunk the kool-aid in different ways - shauna is angry with everyone, it is her and her baby against the world; coach is communing with his cave, it'll be interesting to see if there's a real person there he's speaking to or not; van and the cult have entirely given over to the wilderness and trying to cooperate with it; lottie even moreso, desperately trying to hear IT again. I just dont understand why Travis is willingly taking the mushrooms Lottie is supplying. He doesnt seem to enjoy his trips, and he could definitely overpower her if he needed to. I dont get the vibe he wants to connect to IT. is Akilah the person he is referring to as connecting to the animals??
